  1. Collins and Jack Higgins for Answerth (if picked) and T Kelly? Gives me some juicy $$ to upgrade to a premo mid or def while taking advantage of Collins and Kelly BE

  2. What should be the priority this week?

TU – grab TKelly by trading out Drew and Scrimshaw (keeping Burgess)

TD – get rid of Burgess (miss TKelly)

  3. Anyone thinking of trading in a cartlon half back flanker as simpsons and newman are out?
    Lachie O’Brien?

  4. As far as downgrades go, Hayes is a lock. What about Shai Bolton? 60avg, Riewoldt gone for weeks.

    TU: Yes
    TD: No

    1. Hayes does look obvious, but FULB worries me. Most of my cows can fatten another week, and there looks to be other downgrades coming the following week.
      Tough one.

  5. Butters OUT for Hayes
    Simpson OUT for ???

    Can afford any defender

  6. To trade or hold… Im down to 25 trades already, have an easy projected win this week in the comp with mates with what I have (have cover for Whitfield on bench)

TU have a week with no trades
TD Dont miss out on Fyfe value this week; Sheed->Fyfe and use up bank

    Thanks

  7. I’m keen to get fyfe in this week but a little short of cash to upgrade from a rookie, so looking at dumping sheed or b crouch:

    Butters -> Hayes
    Sheed -> Fyfe

    thoughts?

  8. clark out, burgess moved back, bolton in?

gives me bench cover down fwd (at the moment have bines and burgess), bolton should make some coin and should allow for an upgrade next week.

  9. is it worth trading out B Crouch or A Brayshaw for Fyfe?

    Only need one trade

    TU: Yes

  10. looks like i’ll be bringing in rotham for newman this week
rotham represents good value in 4 key areas
if he plays – he gets rookie price rises
if he doesn’t – late round backline loophole
+ the option of a capt loophole
    cash generation through the downgrade

  11. Collins & Atkins > Lloyd and Hayes (TU) with no bank left

    OR

Collins & Atkins > Answerth/Rotham (if he plays) and Hayes with 400K bank (TD)

  12. Pretty torn this week community, with some swinging looking at:

    Option 1
    Atkins > Hayes
    Clarke> TKelly
    Rem $92k bank

    Option 2
Go a week early on Answerth
    Clarke > Answerth
    Atkins to Fyfe
    Rem $4300 bank

Thinking option 1 is the better of the two, but now I’m over thinking it!

    Thumbs up option 1
    Thumbs down option 2

    OUT Clark/Constable + Libba
    IN Rotham/Hayes + Fyfe

Just short of Bailey Scott -> Hayes, unfortunately.

  14. TU: Moore to T Kelly
    TD: Parker to Greene

Kelly obviously the better scorer compared to Greene, however want to get Parker off the field ASAP

  15. Thinking of bringing in Fyfe
    Who to trade out ?
    TU Gibbons

    TD. Petrucelle
    Comment Setterfield
    Thanks for your help

    1. Ideally would wait until next week to trade out Gibbons and Pet when there 100 rolls out of here 3 week average. Both still got 1 big price rise coming this week

  16. As the name suggests, I’ve got 24 trades left (damage control).

T/U: Trade Atkins for Hayes & M. Parker for T. Kelly
T/D: Just upgrade T. Kelly and save second trade?
    Comment: No trade?

    Thanks.

  17. TU option 1:
    Scott – TKelly
    Clarke -> Sicily/boak
    Only 120k bank

    TD option 2:
    Scott -> Tkelly
    Clarke -> rotham/Hayes
    Bank 570k

      1. Haha I am running Gawn R1 O’Brien R2 .
Offloaded Goldy last week so got a nice warchest there to use. But will need to get grundy around the byes. But I’m happy with the move gotta take risks makes the journey more exciting

        4

        0
  18. T/U: T. Atkins -> W. Hayes & M. Parker -> T. Kelly = $388K left in the bank
    – Could save $$$ for premos in the coming weeks

    OR

    T/D: J. Scrimshaw -> J. Sicily & M. Parker -> T. Kelly = $23.5K left in the bank
    – go the double upgrade and rebuild the kitty

    4

    7
  19. Definitely going Scott to Hayes. Undecided on which upgrade to go with.

T/U Goldy to Grundy, $157k left

T/U Scrimshaw to T.Kelly via Rozee DPP, $147k left

Also sort of toying with the idea of Scrimshaw to Billings.

    4

    5
    1. Scrim -> Kelly every day of the week.

Scrimshaw close to topping out. Kelly with a low BE has probably bottomed out. Rozee on-field in the backline is fine.

Billings is, for me, a late target. Grab the more proven options, when you’re down to that last upgrade then you can see if Billings form is looking like continuing, or if it’s a flash in the pan.

Goldy-Grundy can wait. Goldy has an attainable BE of 115, and is up against Carlton minus Kreuzer. That means Phillips, Lobbe , Casboult or the young fella, De Koning. He’ll go big. Grundy has a BE of 165, very likely he drops significantly.

      5

      0
      1. Didn’t even think to check Grundys BE, that’s a good point. Yeah wasn’t fully considering Billings too, just thought I’d throw it at the end of the comment to see if anyone thought it may be worth it.

  20. Would you prioritise fyfe or tkelly this week? Moving on libba and downgrading a rookie to hayes (permitting he is named) to facilitate the trade.
I also already have heeney and danger as my only premo fwds, which only adds to the pickle as they share a bye with kelly, but i need to start adding to fwd stocks

    TU: Fyfe
    TD:Tkelly

I think we all appreciate your tireless feedback. Do you think Hayes is a better option then a named Rotham?

  21. Should I…
Trade out – Libba and Burgess
Trade in – Fyfe and Westoff
Westoff I believe has bottomed out at $385k, with Marshall up forward seems to be getting his hands on the ball playing a little higher up the ground.
Will leave me with 24 trades and $5k in the bank.
    TU, go for it!
    TD, hold your trades.

      1. Yeh I understand AS, I love his DPP and can see in time swinging Hines in the ruck after RO’B becomes the fat cow hopefully around bye rounds. Even if he becomes a very handy F6/7 R/Fwd later in the season.
Cheers for your reply, time to think again….

    2. Westhoff can still drop another 80k if he continues to put up similar numbers each week that he has so far…

Agree with allsaints – think we need to wait a week to see what Port’s setup is before moving on any of their players

  23. What should I do with Brad Crouch?
If Answerth is named, should I move Collins to Answerth and Brad Crouch to Fyfe.
I’m unsure about whether to trade Zak Butters due to his breakeven, and Stocker might be a downgrade target if he can play the Kade Simpson/Nic Newman role successfully.
Guess I’ll have to wait for team lineups.

  25. Contingent on teamsheets of course, which of these options would you lean towards?

T.U: Butters to Hayes and Scrimshaw (via Moore DPP) to Boak.

T.D: Scrimshaw to Bolton (via Moore DPP) and Butters to Fyfe.

    Comments n’ criticism welcome.

  26. I’ve got 312k in the bank but only 23 trades left, I am trying to trade hard early to try get to all keepers ASAP.
I’ll definitely be upgrading Collins to Tim Kelly (via Darcy Moore) leaving me with 22 trades.

147k leftover.. could trade Goldstein to Gawn and have 30k left in the bank or i could save the trade. Gawn is scoring 20 points more every week and has a lower breakeven. Need some advice on what to do.

T/U Pull the trigger and trade Goldstein to Gawn
    T/D Save the trade

    1. If you do both, how many rookies will you have left on the field?! If more than 5, I’d just do Collins>Kelly for now. Goldy has a pretty easy run to the byes.

  27. Daniel Rich (shudders at the thought) was a burnman but after taking a large proportion of kick ins and playing behind the football is killing it this year. Should I trust him and bring him into my team?

  29. I have both Whitfield and Coniglio and considering their injuries, I’m looking to ship one of them off.

Make no trades and cover round with bench if injured

    1. Hi Adam,

You’ve actually got quite a good structure now.

Clark should be able to cover Whitfield in the Defence this week (we’re in a similar situ there). And, Darling is probably your biggest headache (I know because I had him, too – Greene as well).

In my opinion, and I’m allowed to be wrong at least twice per day, I’d cut Darling and bring in Tim Kelly. That’s it for now.

Good luck whatever you decide to do buddy 🙂

      9

      1
      1. Thanks, I greatly appreciate it. Very annoyed with Darling as I could have had Boak which would have meant I’d be ranked in the top 2000 due to a 400 point differential between Boak and Darling. Keen to offload him this week as the intention and expectation with the starting selection was between the 90-100 range and to be utilised as a F6/F7 loop in the latter half. Will likely utilise 1 or 2 of R Gray/J Westhoff/D Smith in that role this year.

Yet to make an upgrade after this week and 6 trades down but happy to have rectified most of the poor starting selections whether premium or rookie and will be targeting J Lloyd, J Macrae and J Kelly pre bye.

        3

        1. No worries. I’m pretty PO’d about it as well. I was tossing up Darling and Boak as well, but made a similar decision. Same with Greene… took him instead of Worpel. Sounds like it could’ve been a different season for us both.

Important note, all the corrections are made for you and you’re about to make some real strides from the sounds of it mate. Good targets ahead.

FYI – I’ve had Westhoff from the start… hoping he’s coming good now, but he’s been very up-and-down so far. May want to wait until after the byes to figure out who those F6/7 slash M8/9 slash R3 players are to see how things shake out.

          2

          0
          1. Thanks. Will likely be a bit aggressive in the mids and hopefully select J Macrae and J Kelly when they are both below 600,000 in the coming 2-4 weeks which will likely mean S Walsh and C Constable will leave early. Also had the intention of turning B Smith into J Lloyd when he replaced Greene but if he continues this form I might need to find another avenue.

Also with the poor cash gen this season there should only be a 100,000 or less difference between the Hoff/Gray and Drew/Baker later on which is the main allure behind that potential move.

            2

            0
  31. Def : hurn williams Smith Collins scrim duursma ( Burgess Clarke)

Considering going Collins too rich his JR looks SuperCoach friendly and should maintain that for the year very comfortable draw also. I know Lloyd sic & laird all make sense to finish top 6 but his price, BE & season avg make it enticing

  32. Need to get rid of R.Gray this week.
    Who do I bring in?

    3 Whitfield to Lloyd

    1. Lots of people are trading Butters to Hayes, Hayes looks solid and Butters is about as fat as he’ll get. I’d look at moving Scrimshaw on too for the same reason. if you have enough money I’d upgrade to Laird or Heeny via Rozee DPP. If not an upgrade, Answorth looks a solid downgrade from Scrimshaw.

  41. Hey everyone, I have a dilemma…

Basically, I am looking to trade in N.Fyfe (-55K of starting price & should ave. ~ 120) this week, but am also looking to target J. Macrae (should be around 580K & should ave. ~ 120) in 2 weeks time once his 85 rolls out of his system (barring more sub-100 scores).

As my team stand right now, I have 4 midfield premiums, 2 midfield mid-pricers (T.Liberatore & B.Crouch), and 2 on-field midfield rookies (S.Walsh & C.Constable). This means if i want to bring BOTH N.Fyfe and J.Macrae pre-byes, I will be left with one of T.Liberatore/B.Crouch/S.Walsh on the bench unless one gets traded, which seems a waste of on-field points due to their increased scoring power over rookies in other lines. However, I definitely feel keeping all these 3 players to at least their bye, and re-assessing then is the right call as they all can make a little more money, have increased scoring power over other rookies and may come keepers or bench cover post-byes (especially if B.Crouch finally begins to convert his raw numbers into SuperCoach scores).

So, do I be trading in N.Fyfe only this week / J.Macrae only in 2 weeks (and field S.Walsh), both (bench / trade S.Walsh/B.Crouch/T.Liberatore), or trade in N.Fyfe now, and wait to trade Macrae in after his bye in Rd.12 hoping he hovers around 580-600K with a couple more 100-110 odd scores as he seems to be playing slightly more HF?

    Btw, my midfield is: P.Cripps, C.Oliver, M.Crouch, R.Sloane, T.Liberatore, B.Crouch, S.Walsh, C.Constable (Z.Butters, T.Atkins, B.Scott).

All feedback is much appreciated! 🙂

  42. What are people thinking bout Rich? He’s scoring rather consistently off half back, question is weather he can keep it up. Top 10 defender this season?

    2

    4
  43. Is 4 Geelong players in the forward line just too much? Their draw is by far the easiest in the league as well! Miers will most likely offloaded before the byes so will leave me with 3 + Heeney for the Rd 13 bye.
    Thoughts?

    3

    1
    1. depends if playing league or overall maybe. I’m playing league so happy to have all of those players (most others dont because of the bye) and cop the loss for that bye round.

      2

  44. Is it too early to trade out constable? I know he’s got more cash to make but he was omitted and it’s a tough midfield to break back into…was going to trade butters but once i saw constable was out I thought it might be better to leave Butters in to make a bit more cash

    5

  45. Is coniglio worth bringing in. Or are there better options 564k in the bank

    Already have fyfe.

TD: Atkins and Ridley to Sicily and Hayes ($5k ITB for future)

  47. Wow. How about those team lists….
Which rookie would you consider is more crucial to hold

    TU: Constable
    TD: Butters

Wouldn’t have even considered trading constable before teams, but with him being an omission and not managed, and right at the time when i wanted to start going 1 down 1 up, who knows when he will be back to gain more value

    1. I said it last week that I don’t like going early on a rookie….in this case though I am looking at the exact same trade because I have no DPP in the midfield and Scott and Gibbons aren’t worth trading. Unless you definitely need two upgrades next week doesn’t hurt to wait and see if Scrimshaw is back next week I reckon.

    TU – Scrimshaw>Laird and Sheed>Rocky
TD – Scrimshaw>Hayes via DPP and Sheed > Fyfe. This option will leave me with no E in the backline for this week. Whitfield and Burgess on the bench.

TD – trade now, no point waiting

  54. I wouldn’t normally do a trade like this, however it seems to be a good way to get in llyod.
    Whitfield out, llyod in
    Atkins out Hayes in
Will have 120k in the bank.

Whitfield has a BE over 200. Will trade him back in, he will lose at least 50k.
Might be considered by some as a waste of trade. The more I have thought about it it makes sense, and it’s to bring in a player who should be #1 defender and possibly top 10 overall. Wouldn’t do a trade like this for an underpriced punt.
And I’ve used only 4 trades so I feel fairly comfortable with it. Otherwise llyod is a pain to get in and this is a good opportunity with Whitfield at his current price, BE, and missing a game

  55. Sicily T/U
    Fyfe T/D
Similar prices, Sicily the better option structurely but this will be my last upgrade for 4 weeks, ideas?

  56. Scrimshaw –> Hayes is locked in need the cash to start updgrading

    Considering Whitfield out for Sicily
Would help my bye structure a bit. I’ve been told/read that trades are worth about 120k-150k. I held off trading out Fyfe after the concussion. I’ve only used two trades so far so sitting at 28. Down to 27 after the Scrimshaw –> Hayes trade.

Dropping Whitfield to Sicily nets me 15k then Whitfield over the next two weeks drops 100k which by all accounts even 100’s will mean for him to be as cheap as 475k. Which equates to about a 115k difference while banking Sicily’s score. Backline this week with just the one trade is B.Smith, Z.Williams, Moore, Duursma, Hore, Clark (Whitfield, Burgess). I’m not too fussed about leagues I just want the highest rank I can get. Someone please sell me on not selling Whitfield I really don’t want to. Sitting at 5k in rankings. 58k ITB (Before trades) 266k after trades.

    Thanks for the help

  57. Thoughts on
Sidebottom out (only 2 scores over 100) in > Fyfe (top 6 mid)

Collins out in > Brodie smith (3 100s may end up top 6-10 ave mids)

Mids will then me: Cripps/Fyfe/Neale/ M crouch/ Cogs / Libba / Walsh / Stack em: constable / Atkins / Watson

Backs: Whitfield* / Hurn / Williams / smith / Duursma / Hore em: Lockhart / Clark
Rucks: Gawn / Grundy em: obrian

Forwards: danger / Heeney / Kelly / drew / baker / Parker em: Balta / Bines

Forwards are a worry. Looking at getting Boak after his bye if he drops down to 550k and baker rises mid $350k

Happy with some cash generation with rookies.

Currently sitting top 2,000 overall and only playing for overall

23 trades left after completing the above this week.

    1. Tappy if you are going for overall then you need the top 6 in each position and full premos as soon as possible and pray there aren’t too many injuries. Failing that, top 10 per position.
Treloar, Pendles , Adams and Philips seem to atttend most centre bounces so it is having an effect on Sidebottom output as he is not kicking that many goals either, but I still believe he can make top 10 as he didnt make 100+ average only once in the last 7 years. You shouldn’t carry premium passengers but at the same time remember what matters is the total points from now to seasons end, his bad scores may have come and gone.

      1. Bank: 82,700 right now most
Most likely need a good defense cause whitfield injured , scrimshaw being manage which leads me trading out Burgess and Clark need a good replace for those two.

        Current team:
        Laird, Collins,hore and answerth

        1. If you have Moore forward I’d hold Burgess his DPP his more handy than his measly 50k he’d make by downgrading.. move on scrimshaw up too a premium if possible u have answerth already no other defenders are worth jumping on. Clarke will play according to Chris Scott yesty and trading Scrim will give you 6 playing defenders

  58. Two trade options this week. I do understand it is early on Moore/Constable but getting Laird in will give me more chance in some crucial leagues this week with Whitfield out and when Whitfield returns my team will be in great shape

TU: Butters or Atkins to Hayes ($150k or $130k remaining to use next week) – Pred Score 2154
TD: Moore + Constable to Laird + Hayes – ($20k left) – Pred score 2178

Essentially the only on-field differece is Laird vs Moore this week

  59. Anyone know what L Young JS is like?
Can’t decide on who comes in:

    TU: Young & Fyfe
    TD: Hayes & Sicily

Would prefer Hayes & Fyfe but can’t swing it.

    1. Houli missed 10 games last year and 5 the year before (I think there was a suspension in there somewhere), already missed 3 this year. I don’t think his body will hold up.

  60. McGrath > Lloyd
    Butters > Hayes

Only will have 3k in the bank…

    T/U – do it
    T/D – hold for now

  61. While the rookie outs haven’t devastated me this week, I’m thinking it’s probably a good opportunity to turf Scrimshaw, who looks to have limited money still to make. Beats trading out Libba or Moore who are capable scorers this week.

    OUT: Scrimshaw and Atkins
    IN: Fyfe and Hayes

    Leaves the team as:

DEF: Lloyd, Laird, Williams, Smith, Moore, Hore (Duursma, Clark)
MID: Cripps, Neale, Fyfe, Crouch, Oliver, Libba, Walsh, Butters (Constable, Scott, Hayes)
    RUC: Grundy, Gawn (O’Brien)
FWD: Danger, Heeney, Kelly, Drew, Baker, Pettruccelle (Setters, Bines)

Will look to bring Moore back into the forward line next week, trading out Butters or Pettruccelle for Answerth. Probably pair that with another downgrade so I can sit on a little Macrae/Whitfield Warchest going into the following week.

  62. I’m thinking of trading Newman. I can get Houli or is it too late to bring in B.Smith in? Can Smith still make money? I’ve got 28 trades left.

    T/U – Houli
    T/D – B. Smith

    4

    3
    1. Don’t bring Smith in for money, he won’t be making a heap more.

Do consider that he’s tonned up in his last three games, and could well be a solid D6 come the end of the year.

Williams another popular player on the off chance you don’t already have him. Crisp a good chance to put in some strong performances through the year, and Howe isn’t a terrible pick (rarely goes real big, but can give you consistent solid scores).

You’ve got some options around that mark, but whoever you bring in should be someone you’re happy to have at the end of the year. Alternatively, hold Newman one more week – you could downgrade to Answerth to bank a heap of cash and bring in a cash cow, or you could see how Nyhuis goes in his second game for the year ($284k and scored 97 last week).

      1. Thanks BlueBalls, I was checking my options if Clark didn’t play on Sunday as I don’t have anyone available on the bench.

I already have Williams & Crisp but forgot about Howe.

I’ll hold Newman for the week & see how Answerth & Nyhuis go this weekend.

        Cheers

  63. Whitfield and B Crouch to Ryan or Rich and Fyfe.
    TU- Yes
    TD- No
Get Fyfe while he’s cheap and get Whitfield in again in a couple of weeks when he’s cheaps.
    Regards,
    Rob.

    1. G’Day Rob – a couple of thoughts – are you chasing overall ranking, do you have 30 trades still or do you think LW will be out longer than a week? If you answered yes to any of these then this may validate the move.

Otherwise, assuming you started with LW he has gained 33k and is expected to lose approx 70k before evening out again….unless you need another premo to replace him (e.g. your bench is trash).
Not worth the 2 trades from a cash perspective unless you’re hammering for top positions.

      Good luck.

      1. Cheers Tommy,
I do not want to field Jay Lockhart, so I’m looking for another premo to bring in for Whitfield, I’ve used 3 trades so far not including these.
Do you think that I would be burning too many trades by doing this?
        Regards, Rob.

  64. Have gone Scrimshaw (via Moore DPP) to Bolton and Butters to Fyfe.

Sound good? And is it okay to have passed on Hayes?

    4

    1. Hayes looks like he might turn into an Atkins type slow burn. I’ve passed on him. Stocker to debut this week and probably play off halfback, might be one to watch.

    2. Don’t think Hayes is a must-have. He’s just convenient in timing and apparent job security. Others will pop up along the way. Stocker to debut for Carlton and will hopefully get an extended run at it with Simmo and Newman out of action for three weeks – good user and been playing off half back in the VFL, even taking a lot of kick-ins. Don’t think he’ll get huge numbers, but 55-70 should be a realistic range.

  65. Can do:

TU – Scott to Hayes (constable, butters, atkins, gibbons left)

    TD – Butters to Hayes

Just means if i trade scott ill have less in the warchest?

    1. Think you should keep Scott. Will eventually get some games and bring in some much needed mid-season cash.

  66. 1)
    S. Collins > Answerth
    Pertrucelle > Boak

    2)
    S.Collins > Answerth
    Pertucelle > Daniels

If to Boak ($78,500 in the bank)
If to Daniels ($181,000 in the bank)

    T/U – Option 1
    T/D – Option 2

    1. Wouldn’t trade Petruccelle. His B.E is still in the negatives, still has that 100 in his RA and should score well against the Suns this week.

  67. Answerth is good in that he is cheap and dual position. If I buy him as a mid he will at least allow me to use Dursma in the midfield by swapping positions along with increasing the bank too. If he ends up getting games and increasing his value that’s a bonus.

Better than what I am getting from Scott.

As for Hayes I don’t like his JS that much to make him a must have.
