  1. treloar to myers (other rookie)
    houston to yeo
    next week – upgrade otten

    or

    upgrade treloar?

    1. Although Treloar is seriously under performing, he should be the least of your worries. A player averaging 95 is better than a rookie! Hold until you have a fully upgraded team, and then make premo correctional changes.

        1. I’m not a fan of Yeo, but that trade is better for your team than getting rid of Treloar. Look to upgrade your rookies first before luxury trades

  2. Two trade options this week, let me know what you think is the better option:

T/U: Otten to Adams, Butler to Heeney

T/D: Otten to Lloyd, Taranto to Yeo

  3. Ive had about5 change of minds about trades this week. Injuries and these speculations about players not playing is gonna kill me.

Have Selwood and Treloar both in doubt as well as beams and fisher already injured in the mid. Housten not making the trip to China and Hampton who just needs to go.

Hampton is 100% going for a rookie hopefully Mcneise.

The other trade will depend on selection. I want to trade Housten to Heeny / Yeo but if Selwood and Treloar are both out i will have to trade beams out for rockliff instead and field parsons (not bloody ideal but its the only way to avoid a donut). Also looks like Otten is staying now!

    1. Do you think Parsons will hold his position this week?

I have a horrible feeling it could be a “rookie carnage” week – with Newman & Stewart & Fisher still out, and Parsons (and maybe EVW and Balic) dropped.

Add that to Eddy and Hibberd still being out (and Houston if you also have him), and it could be a horror week.

SPP, SPS, Butler and Barrett (plus Otten and Hampton) are probably the only certainties to be picked this week.

Hope I am seriously wrong, but the JS of all the above rooks is looking quite shaky at the moment !!

      1. Yea i hear what you are saying. Lets just say if that happens im screwed.

As a geelong fan i wouldn’t be surprised if parsons did get dropped but if selwood is out he should hold his place. Only other issue is that Scott Selwood is nearing a return after having 32 touches and a goal in the vfl last week.

If it is rookie carnage and holding hampton is a must so be it i suppose. Fingers crossed come thursday night.

  4. pending TLT, I’m now thinking

    Hampton Out – McNiece In
    Otten Out – Yeo In

    T/U Yes
    T/D No

    cheers lads..

  5. Out: Pendlebury and Treloar 😡
    In: Rockliff and Sloane

    Reverse trade

    Out: Hampton and Butler
    In: Any Premo and McNeice

    1. Hutta you cooled on Yeo mate?? saw you post he’s last 5 scores against the Dogs, 57.8 average isn’t pretty reading.. I’m trying to look at the bigger picture.. the kid has never burnt me, so no fear here..

      5

      0
      1. 7 games against the dogs and his highest is 75, doesn’t make for good reading.

He’s been getting a lot of his points from intercept marks this season in which he will struggle this week given the Bulldogs fast, free flowing entry into the forward 50, high handball count game style. So I actually still expect a low score from him. Not 60, but not 90+

I only need 1 forward premium to complete the line and the final few premiums I need elsewhere, I have already earmarked and they are all coming down in price or have their bye next week. Yeo fits perfectly with byes so I may just bite the bullet this week given his low BE. Can’t be burnt 3 years in a row can I? Right?

        8

        0
    1. Beams might only be a week away. Think he’s worth holding if you still have him. Would personally go Simpson – cash generation is going to be tough, and 515K is great value given his history and 113 average over the last three games.

      4

      0
    1. Houston is out so I say him for sire as he has his bye next week anyway. Hampton also I would be thinking because Otten has proven to be a better scorer. Otten and Hampton both have around a 90 BE so it’s more likely to see a greater score from Otten IMO.

      13

  6. Thoughts on
    Out: C Hampton, N Newman, In: S Docherty, E Vicker-Wills

    TU: Good trades
    TD: Reconsider

If I execute the trade my backline will be Docherty, Laird, Shaw, Simpson, Burgoyne and Otten with the final spot reserved for L Montagna/T Adams post byes.

    2

    16
  7. Hard to plan trades this week as I’m potentially looking at some some serious carnage. Some of my premiums in doubt as well as a group of rookies that are certainties not to play. Others have shaky JS. Pendles, Treloar, Selwood, Beams, Pickett and Hibberd all in the midfield. Stewart and Newman down back and Balic, Parsons and Eddy in the fwds. Looking like a bye week for me! Bloody jealous of people that have the luxury of getting rid of blokes like Jack Steele, Treloar etc! Probably serves me right for making some bad decisions pre- lockout round one! Insert song: “If only I could turn back time!”

  8. In the top 1000 for the first time but figure I won’t make up the 400 odd points by picking the obvious players that most will have.
Therefore thinking after the round nine bye going with the likes of Harbrow instead of Shaw or Lloyd, Wines instead of Martin or Hannebury and Lynch instead of Buddy or JJK etc. It will also give me guaranteed points over the three other rounds of byes.

T/U Worth the risk, go for it

T/D Just stick to the more proven performers

    20

    3
    1. You don’t win by following the masses. I would think long and hard about Wines, he’s seemed to slowed a little the last few weeks. If Harbow goes 100+ this week it’ll raise my eyebrows and having Lynch is good too. I’m hoping he has a stinker this week to drop in a few weeks time.

      2

      0
    2. I would try and plan strategically around the byes, and make up points then. No point picking Harbrow and Wines if they’re going to score less than the proven guys. Lynch for sure though.

Maybe have a think about less popular but still proven guys like Neale, Priddis, Joey, Rocky, Goldy, Merrett, Mummy, Zorko.

      7

      0
    1. Has to be Yeo, since Pendles won’t even commit to playing this week. I can see it now, he goes on field long enough to give away a free kick, and then leaves to see his spawn hatch. Then everyone who doesn’t have him gets him in for $400k.

      20

      0
  9. Hannan to Kennedy

Otten to Hurley (playing the 7th man intercepter roll with newfound confidence after a slow start)

    Thoughts?

    3

    3
    1. Wouldn’t bother trading Hannan. Made hardly any money, and only needs one decent game to jump up in price. He’s still getting a game, so Goodwin obviously sees something. JKH would probably get dropped first – he’s looked a long way off the pace since his return.

      3

      0
  10. Who is the better upgrade option in the forward line:

    TU) Yeo, $525k, 114 Avg, BE 33, 20% ownership, (total change +$116k)
    TD) JJK, $515k, 106 Avg, BE 65, 20% ownership, (total change -$94k)

I’m leaning toward JJK because of the higher ceiling potential. However looking ahead at WCE’s fixture they have many Sunday games for the remainder of the year which doesn’t allow for many VC loophole options on JJK (hoping to snag another 170+ game with JJK as captain)

    6

    6
  11. Burnt more trades than I wanted to with only 21 trades left after four rookie corrections required and injuries to NRoo, Gawn, JOM and Beams.

This week I have enough cash to go Otten-HShaw as D4.

TU – Do the trade and lock down another premium spot
TD – Save the trade and keep likes of Otten-Hampton for a few weeks

    11

    6
  12. Bringing in Berry for Hampton this week.

Second trade will be either Adams or McNiece in.

Thoughts on McNiece JS are welcome.

    0

    2
    1. With Essendon playing 3 games in the space of 13 days
RD 5- Collingwood at MCG April 25
RD 6- Melbourne at ES April 30
RD 7- Fremantle at DS May 7

McNiece could return to the side if more players are being rested as 6 players have been rested in the past fortnight including McNiece.

He has lower job security than Berry and Vicker-Wills but his basement price is very appealing thus presenting more cash generation upside than the aforementioned duo.

      9

  13. Deliberating between a 1 trade or 2 trade move this week:

    TU: Otten > Lloyd
TD: Hampton + Butler > Zerrett + McNiece

    0

    8
  14. Forget all your fancy upgrades, I’m just trying to get 22 on the field this week. Treloar did not train today, Selwood severely doubtful, Pendlebury unlikely.

What am I supposed to do with all that junk?

    9

  15. Plenty of cash after double downgrades last week and will upgrade midfield, defence and forwards during this week and next. Was as very bullish on Yeo at the start of the week but the fear of him being an early season bolter who will go back to an 80ish average is starting to chip away at my resolve so:

    T/U Yeo

T/D Wait a week and get Greene

    10

    1
  16. T/U Franklin – he will come good and hitting form
T/D Yeo – Purple patch and not a top 5 defender by years end

    7

    5
    1. Wow some quick responses cheers lads. Yeo is on my “never-ever” list after last season (Higgins is the team captain, Dave Swallow vice) but Buddy isn’t the most consistent player either.

      3

      0
        1. Which would work a lot better for me actually since my back line is pretty solid right now (Laird, JJ, Adams, Shaw, Marchbank, Otten) compared to up front

Maybe its a question of “Porque no los dos?”

          2

  17. I have never ever been waiting with this much anticipation for the teams on a thursday afternoon than i am right now! I’m certain it’s going to be horrible reading…

  18. Looking for a midfield premium who has a bye rnd 12 or 13. Currently have Danger, Bont, Pendle, Sloane, Wines, Oliver, Murphy. I was thinking jellwood or Cotchin, maybe Neale or Fyfe.

    TU: Joel Selwood
    TD: Cotchin
Comment: other (ie Neale or Fyfe)

  19. Looking like a debutante for the catters this week.

Reported on the adyfootfix instagram page, Mark O’cconner a defender priced at 102.4k

YEW!!! hopefully he can hold a spot for a few weeks and score well.

      1. Keeping tabs – only played a handful of VFL games this season. Not doing too flash either. I wouldn’t count on him this year unfortunately. Still young and needs time to develop.

Unless Scott pulls a Fiorini and lets him play the last two games and smash out an average of 80 so he’s price near 300k and completely useless to us. Something that Chris would do to be honest…

        2

  20. How many people’s hard work figuring out their trades this week will all fly out the window if McNiece is not named?

TU – Yep, back to the drawing board
    TD – Who is McNiece?

    8

    11
  21. T/U Houston and Hampton to Yeo and Roberton
T/D Houston and Hampton to Johannisen and any midfielder (Rocky or Bont)

    2

    12
  22. With limited rookies on the bubble and Hamptons BE going north, I’ve decided on Hampton to Berry. Think he is the best available option atm

    8

    2
  23. Need to upgrade Omera
    already have rocky,danger,fyfe,t mitchell,bont
    TU- dusty martin
    TD- theres someone else

i would do selwood or pendles but both may not play

    6

    8
  24. Houston out makes that decision easier, but who to bring in…

TU: Houston for Heeney – but his R11 BYE sucks for my team line up
TD: Houston for Yeo – R12 BYE is much better for my team and I’ve never had a Yeo before so don’t have to worry about the “never-ever” list

Already got Buddy, Dahl & Nankervis

    1

    12
  25. Don’t know what to do, so many are out.

Option 1 – Hampton to Berry, Houston to Aidyn Johnson

Option 2 – Hampton to Berry, Treloar to Tom Mitchell

    2

    8
  26. I’ve been staring at my team for about 1/2hr scratching my head. I ain’t the faintness clue what to do 😐

    14

      1. Kind words Andrew. I worked it out eventually, not pretty, not what I ideally wanted, but it’ll do.

I am $40.9k short of my perfect trade next week but Butler + SPP are expected to rise a combined $25k and J.Selwood is expected to drop 30k. 38 points in the wrong direction will mean I won’t be able to afford it. Gonna be tight and I’m gonna be sweating it out all weekend.

Now the other 2 formats and then draft leagues 😥

  27. What does everyone think of going Houston -> Mutimer? Any WC fans know what his JS is like? Seems to be the only rookie on the bubble this week.

    2

    3
    1. I’m interested in this too. With Houston out and Butler on the extended bench i’m thinking it might be time to let them both go and bring in a midfield rookie via DPP. Only option i can see is Mutimer.. He has decent WAFL stats but his first two AFL games have been pretty quiet.

      0

      1
  28. 2 options that I like this round, would love to see the results on these

TU: OUT – Parfitt & Otten, IN – Heeney & T Adams (via DPP)
TD: OUT – Parfitt & Hampton, IN – Heeney & J Lloyd for POD (and T Adams later as can’t afford this week) – already have Doc, Laird & Shaw

    4

    14
  29. lads I’m thinking I’ll get a lambasting with thumbs downs here but decided to go

    Hampton Out – Berry In
    Treloar Out – Bont In

perfect excuse to get the gun Bont in..
that’s the way I’m looking at it anyway..

    5

    6
    1. Can you get a premium in regardless with money in bank + another rookie?

At least the total “premium” number of your team is still increasing and can move Treloar on later?

      2

      0
      1. only have 4.2k cap space Hutta before those trades.. I can’t get the Bont any other way without multiple other trades and leaving myself dangerously short defensively.. was going to get Yeo but with Treloar missing opened up the opportunity to get Bontempelli in.. I’ll mull over it more yet..

        0

        0
        1. If you can bring two premiums I’d go for it but I’ve always stuck fat with premiums if I can only get one in that week, I generally hold. Next week Treloar + Yeo will outscore Bont + Rookie by more than the difference on Bont and Yeo this week. Then that compounds over the next 4-5 rounds until your team is complete. My two cents anyway.

          5

          0
  30. Is it a good idea to trade J Pickett to J Berry to maximise cash generation as well as minimising potential non playing players throughout the byes.

    TU: Yes
    TD: No

    16

    3
    1. Difficult not knowing bye-structure, other players etc.
But personally not a huge fan of paying top price for players.. Especially this year with limited cash generating rookies. Not saying Docherty isn’t a great in, but Adams is avg 0.6pts lower and saves almost 40k, or you could even go Lloyd and save 100k. Just food for thought.

      1

      1
  31. T/up – Hampton to Berry, Houston to Franklin (leaves $25k)

T/down – Hampton to Berry, Houston to Johnson (leaves around $300k to upgrade people in coming weeks)

    10

    0
    1. I have eyes on him but really want to see that turn in form before jumping on. BE of 124 so could still drop in price. Hasn’t hit triple figures in 4 weeks now and running at an average of 81.5 over this time. We know his capabilities so it’s around the corner I’m sure. If you’re happy to jump on and it suits your team structure go for it but as I said, I’m happy to wait a week.

      7

      0
    1. With his bye next week o.O

Risky with Pendles! I don’t think he’d pull out from the game half way through and I’m pretty sure his baby isn’t due til next week but you never know…

      3

      0
      1. Couldn’t Mrs. Pendlebury just travel with the team? I mean if they’re both in the same stadium when the baby is born, then it essentially counts as being present for the birth, right?

        4

        1
  32. Hampton out to a mid via DPP.

    T/U Yeo, switch forward later

T/D Zerrett, cheap and tonned up near halftime last week.

    1

    12
  33. Will trade d beams for mid under 585k
    Tu cotchin
    Td tom mitchell

Wont trade pendles in due to uncertainty about his baby

    3

    8
  34. Have enough funds to go Otten to Adams this week but it means I might have to forego Docherty later on and select Montagna instead.
Current backline: Shaw, Simpson, Laird, Burgoyne, Otten, Hampton, Stewart, Newman.

TU: Bring Adams in this week for Otten and Montagna in Rd 12 to finish the backline
TD: Hold Otten till Rd 12 and trade to Docherty and leave the final spot for Montagna/Adams.

    3

    6
  35. I’ve gone from an up/down week a double up week. Purely because there are no rooks

    Hampton goes out for JJ
Beams goes out for Heeney (Steele dpp)

Otten gets another week before he is flicked (unless he produces this week)

Grundy could be a good option next week too after cox got sacked this week. Does this mean Bucks is a Cox sacker?? :/

    4

    3
  36. Surprised by the lack of Goldstein in these options. Has just about bottomed out at $486,400 and could be a good upgrade for Witts to avoid a potential donut next week.

Plays Melbourne next week who he averages 147.5 from 6 games since 2011.

    3

    0
  37. Have the cash to go Hampton to Bont via Adams DPP
    Leaves me with 21 trades

TU: Treloar to Heeney via Yeo DPP
    TD: save the trade

    2

    7
  38. T/U Otten to Shaw this week (minimal cash)

T/D Otten to Berry this week and then Rookie to promo mid next week?

Down to 20 trades, please help (any suggestions are welcome) !!

    2

    3
  39. Houston and Butler for Yeo and McNiece.

I’ve bodily a bit of a war chest, so that would still leave me with about 510k for a potentially double upgrade next week

    0

    2
  40. Hampton and D Swallow to Bont and D Lloyd ?
That leaves, to quote from Chopper, “Cash, no cash here.”
    Also leaves only 21 trades.

    1

    0
  41. All right. Currently 21 trades left with a bit of cash.

    TU – Otten-HShaw, $11k in bank, 20 trades left

    TD – Otten-Adams & Hampton-Berry, $93k in bank, 19 trades left

    0

    4
  42. FFS i have managed to trade in Parfitt instead of Parsons…….. who i only traded out last week……….

    2

    1. That’s OK – parfaits are delicious. Parfait’s may be the most delicious thing on the whole damn planet!
