Trade Talk Rd9

Written by Schwarzwalder on May 12 2019

Looks like Macrae has bottomed out for the time being, Oliver’s price is now heading up in a hurry, while Cripps, Neale & Grundy remain over $600k.  If only we could find some decent downgrade options, aye?  What moves are you looking to make at this early stage?

  1. Looking at Laird or Sicily this week but need a downgrade target. Still have Williams at D1.

Need Constable to hold his spot at M8 after trading Walsh and Fyfe looking like missing.

  2. Worpel can’t score in the last quarter and seems to be an 80-85 player from here on in

TU – trade to premo mid via Dunkley dpp
TD – hold, don’t burn trades

    8

    34
  3. Macrae in
Not sure if there will be any downgrades this week.
Lloyd and Boak on radar so am happy with how they went this week

  4. I anticipated there would be few downgrade options this week, so did a double downgrade last week. Now with 610K in the bank I will go the double upgrade this week:

    Drew > Macrae
    Atkins > Hurn

Hopefully Moore to Lloyd the week after, as I suspect Lloyd will be even cheaper.

  5. Macrae is a certainty to join my mid quintet of L Neale, C Oliver, N Fyfe, R Sloane and Z Merrett but the only problem is who will make way.

TU: S Walsh for J Macrae and 140,000 remaining.
TD: T Atkins for J Macrae via M Parker to either mid/def or fwd rookie

    7

    37
    1. In regard to my TU option the money left over plus the possibility of a Atkins/Parker downgrade would allow Lloyd/Cripps/Hurn relatively quickly to replace a Duursma/Drew type.

  6. I’ll be keeping it simple. Would love another gun mid but it can wait a week. Think I need a defender, Sicily and Stocker on my radar.

  7. What should I do with Coniglio he’s been scoring very poor lately
do i look for an upgrade to Macrae ?

  8. For some reason I didn’t trade Brayshaw last week because needed cash gen so thinking this…
    Brayshaw > Fyfe
    Walsh > Kelly

    TU: Yes, good aggressive trades
TD: No, focus on other rookies such as Drew and Duursma

    25

    23
    1. J Kelly on avg but Z Merrett on total points unless J Kelly can play the remainder of the season and miss minimal games which in that case he would beat Z Merrett in both categories.

      1. Good point Adam
Kelly a bit of a risk as susceptible to injury however when on field quite impressive

        1. I think I’ve mentioned several times that in conversations regarding J Kelly I could be biased as he is my favourite player in the competition from a fantasy and non fantasy perspective.

A quick look at their upcoming fixture in conjunction with my elite numbers article on him in the preseason makes him very appealing.

Both selections will be solid and between the 108-115+ mark for the remainder of the season but the decision will be dependent on whether you’d rather go the safe option in Merrett or instead select J Kelly who possess one of the highest ceilings but has the attached injury risk.

    2. Time to part ways with B Smith?
109 BE and lost 12k this round
      Or hold till byes

      TU: trade
      TD: hold

      1

      51
      1. Having a look at this as well. Currently the 11th best defender, so could easily hold him. But history suggests he’s at the top of his price cycle. Tough call.

        5

        0
      2. He and Darcy Moore are both right at the top of their price cycle. If you’re upgrading to genuine premos you can safely let either/both of them go.
I’ll be letting one go this week, just not sure which yet.

        4

        5
        1. You’d be keeping Brodie Smith until at least after the byes, potentially holding him all season. Get to full premo then assess trades left. Before his 70 on the weekend had 3 tons and a 90. Surely the very least of your issues.

          9

          0
  9. It is looking like Duursma’s time to shine. To bring in my intended target of Macrae i need to shift Answerth to the DEF but then lose my switch between Lockhart and Answerth as they both end up in defense. It would leave me with 90k left over.
It’d be left with Ross Atkins and Scott on my midfield bench with Walsh and Constable. Or i can go Atkins, leave myself with only 20k but would keep the def/mid loop
    TU Duursma 90k leftover
TD Atkins 20 leftover but also DEF/MID loop

    1

    31
    1. Wouldn’t worry about the loop. You can always put one of them in the MIDs when you next trade a MID out.

      5

      1
      1. That’s what I was thinking, as another Mid will be having to go soon. Was surprised when I saw 0-10 vote. I wonder if it is the loop or whether I will get more players available to play as my rookies are now injured or low JS

        1

        0
    2. Ross and Atkins injured and scott and constable poor js i don’t think you can have that as your mid bench so definitely option two.

      2

      0
  10. Hit the jackpot by trading in Oliver last week. Going to play it safe this week though.

    In: Macrae and Stocker
    Out: Scrimshaw and Drew

    23

    2
      1. Yeah unfortunately can’t afford him without a downgrade. I actually have faith in Stocker since Carlton traded their first round pick this year for him. They must rate him?

        6

        0
        1. Sure they rate him, but as soon as any of Jones, Newman and Simpson are IN won’t Stocker be OUT?

          3

          0
        2. Agree with Gunboat
Stocker’s JS isn’t good and not likely to make much cash in his 3rd game.
Understand now is the time to move on Macrae. Might be a while before you can get him at a good price.
If you have quality rookies on your mid bench (ie no Scott) maybe go for it.
If Scott is there, think you have to find another way

          4

          1
  11. Double downgrade last week
    Double upgrade this week
Walsh, Libba, Drew and Duursma on the chopping block but with the money I have in the bank I only can make decent changes work in 2 ways.

    T/U
    Walsh -> Fyfe
    Libba -> Macrae

    T/D
    Walsh – Macrae
    Duursma – Daniel via DPP

    25

    2
    1. Libba has lost $50+k in the last 2 weeks.
If you still have him I would hold him for now.
      Walsh maybe
Maybe drew to Macrae through DPP

      3

      0
  12. Parker>Ham
    Drew>Daniel

I’ve been waiting to cash in on Parker for a long time. It’s time to go. I was $4k short of bringing in Boak, but I think Daniel will do.

    0

    9
    1. Also a note: I’m not really too in love with the idea of trading Walsh out, especially since I have most of this week’s MID upgrade targets and he’s sitting nicely as my M7, I’d rather upgrade him during the byes. I’ve been meaning to bolster my FWD line for a while now.

With that being said, my only alternative in the form of an upgrade would be Duursma to Sicily.

      So:
      TU: Stay with Drew>Daniel
      TD: Go with Duursma>Sicily

      5

      14
  13. Trade #1) Drew -> Boak
    Trade #2) Steele -> J. Kelly

    Here’s my rationale:

Looking at B.Es, you’d think I could wait a week on Trade #1; Drew can still make some cash, and may even ton up against the Suns, and Boak’s BE is 150~. However, Boak’s form is just irresistible right now and I think he’ll get close to his BE against the Suns. It was only poor disposal efficiency that cost him a big score against the Crows.

Now, as for Trade #2, I know we’re not supposed to sideways trade premos but Steele has proven that he ain’t a premo. Even allsaints, the SC wizard and big proponent of Steele, has conceded that he’s “concerned” about Steele (see Progress Scores thread). Kelly is in hot form and plays Carlton next week, posted 205 last time he played the Blues.

There are alternatives. I could always trade Walsh (who I think will be useful during the byes) instead of Steele, but then I could only afford someone below 544k- so most likely a Sloane, however he has tags from Hutchings and De Boer in the next month.

    Thoughts? Critiques? Alternatives?

    9

    4
    1. Like the mentioned options and would it be possible for you to post your team so we can potentially find an alternative.

      4

      1. Cheers, Adam.

DEF: Hurn, Lloyd, Williams, Moore, Hore, Duursma, Burgess & Tobe Watson (loophole)

MID: Cripps, Fyfe, Macrae, Oliver, M. Crouch, Steele, Walsh, Constable, Atkins, Scott & Answerth

        RUCK: Grundy, Gawn & ROB

FWD: Danger, Heeney, Darling, Drew, Baker, Bolton, Setterfield & Corbett.

348,700 in the bank, 23 trades left.

        Hit me.

        2

        1
        1. Option 1:
          Out: B Scott, T Atkins
In: J Kelly, mid rookie (ie Hately) and roughly 30,000 to 60,000 left

          Option 2:
          Out: B Scott, T Atkins
In: J Dunkley (via W Setterfield), mid rookie and 130,000+ left.

          Option 3:
          Out:W Drew, S Walsh
          In: T Kelly, E Yeo/R Sloane/Z Merrett and 20,000 to 70,000 left

          Option 4:
          Out: W Drew, J Steele
In: T Kelly and J Kelly and 25,000 left

          Option 5:
          Out: X Duursma, S Walsh
In: R Laird and Z Merrett

Haven’t looked or considered byes for the above trades so I don’t know whether this will greatly affect the current structure.

          10

          0
            1. Steele to Kelly is good but with Fyfe in your team it could come back to haunt you.
Maybe Steele to someone more reliable?

              2

              0
          1. Valid options, Adam. Will mull them over.

No problem trading out Steele and/or Drew though?

            3

            0
            1. W Drew had a great start to the showdown from memory scoring 70% to 80% of his points in the 1st half and still has money to make with upcoming matches before the bye against the Suns, Hawks and Saints.

Steele’s been consistent disposal and tackle wise but isn’t much of an accumulator so will usually score between the 80-120 which should make a fine M7-M9 come seasons end but dependent on your trade situation and cash generation regarding the trade out possibility.

With Burgess, Watson and Scott as loopholes you could look to trade them to premiums/ discounted premiums/rookies but there aren’t any standout options and hopefully ROB’s cash can be pocketed pre byes helping that situation.

              2

              0
        2. I might also be letting Steele go this week. Not good enough for a few weeks now. Looked especially poor yesterday. Out of position too often and gee can he butcher it; been guilty of both recently, but yesterday took the biscuit.
If I can afford to hold him while getting Macrae, then I probably will, but if I do let him go I can afford a(nother) upgrade.

Hmmmm. Got a few days to think about it. So I will.

          1

          1
              1. And think I shall.

Tyvm to all who weighed in, will repay the favor and get around to responding to other people’s trade options as best I can.

                7

                0
                1. Are we all forgetting Steele is a late bloomer? Look at his first half last year compared to his finish. The fact that he’s nearly averaging 100 where he usually starts slow makes me excited for his explosion. Still young, and playing less of a tagging role, once he hits stride it’s gonna be scary.

                  2

                  0
    2. I’d keep Steele. He hasn’t lost much and you picked him thinking he’d do well. After the Pies this week he has a good 6 game run to prove it and then you can trade him through byes if needed. If he does ok he’s probsbky a last one traded in your mids (such as B.Crouch/Rocky for me). I think Walsh to T.Kelly is the trade. Can swing him forward for Setterfield and put Constable on field and leaves you money to trade up next week. There’s more premos ready to get next week and Duursma and Drew will potentially be ready unless they score well this week. The second trade may be a Hately/Stocker for Atkins if they’re named. I think this would be good for your team structure and give you a war chest still for next weeks ripe premos (Neele/Whitfield) when there aren’t any rookie options potentially.

Just my thoughts. Looking ahead at next weeks trades always a good thing.

      2

      0
    1. Historically, he hasn’t posted enormous scores against the Crows (last 3: 110, 110, 105)- but that was with Freo. Whole new dynamic at Brisbane and he’s in career best form. Maybe.

      2

      0
    2. If he’s a target I’d probably wait. If he misses, he’ll fall two weeks in a row from here.

      3

      0
  14. 3 possible downgrade options this week. Obviously Jately if named. Stocker poor scoring but improving and big praise on his VFL form. Surely knocks out a good score or two eventually. Gibbons like. Then their is Larky at 177k. JS looks good and 77 stays in cycle 2 weeks. I picked up Moore instead this week against my own gut.

    3

    0
  15. So i think im going to hold Brayshaw and Worpel for now and start trading out the rookies i think that is a good plan.

    9

    0
    1. Make another trade. One up, one down and get the premo you want. If no decent downgrade option pops up on Thursday, maybe hold?

      5

      0
  16. So looking at a new FWD premium, Currently already have Danger, Heeney, Kelly & Daniel.

Dunkly is tempting but so is Mundy.

So who is most trust worthy?
Who is more likely to keep their mid minutes?
Personally I’m leaning towards Mundy (Dont think I can trust Mr Magnets). but curious on what everyone thinks.

    TU – Dunkley
    TD – Mundy

    14

    17
    1. Possibly. Am gonna see how the week shapes up first. Think it would be more sensible to hold him tho. Unlikely to lose any money over next four weeks and will likely come good in the back half. Doesn’t tend to miss games either.
Will look for other options first.

Thinking of bring either one of bont, Zerret or j.kelly to finish out my midfield, i also want to bring in a fwd but no one yells out to me other then boak but wait for his price to drop so don’t know what to do there. My backlines fine to stay as it is until i bring in sicily after the first bye round, really confused where to go with my team right now and with not many downgrade targets and byes scaring me away from certain players i really don’t know where to go, any help is really appreciated guys.

  18. 477k in the bank, double upgrade time!

    TU: Duursma > Sicily
    Drew > Boak

    TD: Duursma > Sicily
    Walsh > Neale

    Cheers legends

    12

    20
  19. Currently ranked 64 overall.
Trading aggressive gibbons to hately considering gws vs blues hately should play and gone walsh to boak can feel boak pulling out a monster against suns dont wanna be behind the 8 ball

    11

    3
  20. Caleb Daniel and Hately or Rotham (if named) in

    Parker and Wilkie out

Next week Sicily in for Duursma

    1

    4
  21. Holding my fwd upgrade until Goldy is ready to be flipped into gawn and O’brien’s cash can upgrade a forward. (Bye Week Trades)

    This week thinking

Duursma > McRae through a Wilkie > Rotham downgrade.

    Mid would be McCrae/Cripps/Cogs/Neale/Oliver/Walsh/Stack

    4

    1
  22. stocker, ham, hately (if named), rotham (if named)
best JS out of these options?

Moore + atkins/parker -> one of these rookies

TU – yes macrae too good at this price to pass on (gives me 7 premo mid + walsh)
TD – no moore can still make money/not worth downgrading to someone with such low JS

    9

    1
  23. Can I get some suggestions please on how to improve my team?

93k in bank and 20 trades left, team is:

D: Whitfield, Lloyd, Laird, Rich, Hore, Duursma (Scrimshaw, Answorth)

M: Trelor, Gaff, Cogs, Rocky, Brayshaw, Walsh, Libba, Constable (Gibbons, Lockhart, Scott)

    R: Grundy, Gawn (Clarke)

F: Kelly, Danger, Newnes, Moore, Drew, Baker (Petruccelle, Setters)

If Harley is named, am thinking Petru and Scrimshaw our, Harley and Dunkley in

But then again all my rookies should still make cash for another week so I am better getting rid of Libba/Brayshaw now?

    Any advice appreciated. Thanks all

    0

    0
    1. How do you have so many rookies left and used so many trades. I’d be concentrating on upgrading on field rookies first. Libba will string some big games together again. Still avg ok so not worth trading out yet unless you did 2 weeks ago. I’m holding him. The trades you are looking at are good though maybe look at Gibbons to Neale or Bont instead of Dunkley. Though msybe I’m just skeptical of Dunkley i think your midfield needs upgrade more than fwd. Stocker is cheap. Scored crap but should knock out a decent score at some point

      2

      2
  24. Out: T. Atkins and X. Duursma
In: J.P. Kennedy and D. Mundy

21 trades and $124K remaining after.

    Thumbs?

    17

    2
  25. Its a tough week when Stocker looks the best downgrade. Thank you to all the calves for your early season contributions…..shame that the culling season has started.

Anyone want a badly poo stained Gresham…he’s killing me and I started him over Billings. …:( He is now so low I can’t see a bye friendly alternative but to hold on. Ill throw in a free Parker. One does forget that on the other hand they held onto Oliver and Dunkley all the time through !!

Seems teams are starting to look very similar…time to start searching for viable pods…..especially if back in the pack a bit.

    2

    1
  26. if I’m only trading out one this week, who should it be?

    (Other remains on field)

    TU – Scrimshaw
    TD – Duursma

    18

    2
  27. TU:
    Parker- Stocker (Setterfield)
    Atkins – Gaff

    TD:
    Parker – Hately (Setterfield)
    Atkins – Sloane

    5

    5
    1. Why don’t you go Parker > Ham.

They are all pretty much speculative trades anyway and then you don’t lose your Mid – Fed link coming into byes

      1

      6
  28. TU – Duursma > T.Stewart
    Brayshaw > Oliver

    TD Duursma > T.Stewart
    Drew > Marshall

    Or any other ideas?

    4

    3
  29. Had both Parker and Atkins on field last week. Massive ouch so need to get rid of them for one of the following:

TU – Hately (if named) and Laird
    TD – Stocker and Yeo

    12

    6
  30. Really want Macrae, won’t be able to get him any cheaper than this.
Can really only afford to give up a somewhat viable asset though

    T/U: Heeney
    T/D: Worpel
Is it worth the trade? Will take me to 20 left

    0

    15
      1. I’m going to hold Walsh for now as he is still scoring well plus has the capacity to score 100+

But….. if he gets you to McRae who will be top 8 mid defidently then it makes sense to me

        Good luck

        4

        3
  31. Not sure about these so any assistance is welcomed

Duursma -> Bines to open the loophole when O’Brien is traded out

Drew -> J Kelly via Danger or Boak

Thoughts on who out of J Kelly or Boak

    TU: Yay
    TD: Nay

    9

    2
  33. I have 25 trades left, but have cogs and m. crouch as “premo mids”

Is it worth trading one of them to Macrae?

    TU: Cogs
    TD: M Crouch

    Comment: no trade

    3

    7
  34. Experimenting with trade options with 24 left.
Currently looking at Moore and Walsh –> Dunkley and Fyfe
    TU: Good trade
TD: Hold on both they will make more money

    11

    2
  35. Thoughts on downgrading atkins to hatley if he plays or stocker
Then upgrade matt crouch to lachie neale

    4

    7
  36. I don’t have many big problems with rookies..they are all averaging more or similar last 3 weeks than Angus Bloody Brayshaw.
With no downgrades to happen I’ve got enough to get in a top 6 for the rest of the season. Bearing in mind I already have Bont and Dunkley..

    TU: Add Macrae
    TD: Oliver/Kennedy (poll below)

  40. 2219 last week and into the top 1%
    Trades:
    Out = Scrimshaw and Gibbons
In = Kennedy (swans) and stocker
    —————————–
    TU = Yes
    TD = No
    —————————–
Im a little that this will leave my mid bench a bit short and that im chasing points with Kennedy. Should I just wait for more rookies or pull the trigger on stocker this week?

    6

    5
    1. Unsure about Stocker.

Job security is shaky. As soon as any of Simpson, Newman or Jones are IN, Stocker is OUT. Also, his scores aren’t that good and probably won’t make a heap of cash.

      3

      2
      1. I’m a tad more optimistic on Stocker.

We all had him earmarked preseason, and he looked a whole lot more comfortable out there this week.

A 57 v’s the Pies was good really.
The 21 will drop out of his price cycle pretty quickly.
If he goes 60+ this week , he could end up a decent Cow.

If he goes 80+ we will all wish we were on.

Just remember Sydney Stack. No one was very sure on his JS.
His second score was only 40 so many passed.( me included 🙁 )
Now wasn’t that a big mistake.

Not too many Downgrades appear. Stocker has the late Bye too.
He may just be worth a shot.

I’m waiting on the Injury news before I decide on Ross to Stocker.

  41. Thinking a double downgrade this week, then next week get Lloys/Whitfield at lowish prices.

Out: Gibbons and Parker (swing Moore forward)

    In: Lockhart and Stocker

    Thoughts??

    3

    3
  42. Downgrade options this week seem pretty thin. Thinking of trying something left field as I want to get rid of Brayshaw. I have Riley O’Brien as my 3rd ruck. Do you think this works:

T/U – Brayshaw and Parker out for Oliver and Bines. Then move Bines to R3 once I have fattened O’brien up sufficiently and get through the byes. Rucks are currently Gawn/Goldy.

T/D – wait a week and hope Brayshaw comes good.

    1. If you don’t already have a loophole, it’s an option. If you already have one, it is likely a waste of a trade.

      1

      0
      1. I would never go straight to a loophole, if there’s another viable downgrade option that could make your side cash.

Even if I couldn’t loophole for a week.

Take the downgrade, and save the Bines trade for when their’s no Bubble Boys!

        4

        1. Oh also..

You don’t wan’t to trade in a Loophole that is playing Friday night 😉

  43. Thinking…
    Scrimshaw to Kelly
    Walsh to Dunkley

Week after can use DPP to do…
    O’Brien to Macrae
Any rookie >250k (Ross, Atkins) to whatever downgrade player pops up

    4

    0
    1. Alternatively, could go

      Darling to Kelly
      Duursma to Dunkley

But Darling has a -1 BE so I think I should hold for a little while

      1

      0
  44. Bringing in Macrae for Parker via DPP.

To give me the necessary cash, one of these needs to go for Hately if named or Stocker. Which one should get traded out?

    TU – Duursma
    TD – Drew

    5

    1
    1. BG.

      I’m holding both.

They are playing The Suns, and should easily account for those BE’s

They then have, the Hawks and Saints before their Bye.

I vote to hold both if you can.

      4

      0
      1. Thanks FT. But I’m 10K short of being able to trade Atkins and get in Macrae. Don’t necessarily want to trade Duursma/Drew but it gets me Macrae so reckon its worth it.

        2

        1
        1. I can see the appeal in Macrea.

If you have to cull one….

Wait for team selections ,then look at your team structure,

          The best option will appear.

          1

    1. Trying very hard not to be. You should too!
At least start planning to have no Rd13 rookies/midpricers come Rd13. Every little counts!
Remember, you will have three trades available that week and the week prior to adjust.
BUT, WITH ALL THAT SAID …
Don’t get too caught up on one Rd either. Even if you can only field 15 players on field that week, you will only miss out on 0.58% of your possible overall score. I wouldn’t compromise your overall decision-making for one annoying stinky piece of sh!t, that is Rd13. Just try and get as many of the premos who have the other byes before then and you’ll be sweet!
At the same time, don’t avoid trading in any of Grundy, Gawn, Neale, Danger, Lloyd and TKelly that you don’t already have, just because they have that bye. By all means wait for a specific price-drop but they are all likely to be Top2/3 by respective position and you need their points for as much of the season as is possible to stand a chance.
They’re my thoughts on it anyway.

      Good luck 😉

      6

      1
    2. My current bye structure is 21/19/20 playing…… but that includes the likes of bines and his c loop. I had the same approach last year and went from about 10k pre byes to 3k post byes and finished top 1k. It means being disciplined not getting the likes of Macrae until after his r12 bye, and hoping he spuds it the previous few weeks. I look at the byes as the 800 metre mark in the Melbourne Cup…..get a good position then bring it home.

      1

      1
  45. $2k short of Duursma straight to Fyfe..

    T/U – Duursma to Clarry
T/D – Duursma to Fyfe + Ross to Hately

    7

    2
    1. Fyfe might cop a week and make your decision for you.

On the issue of Hately as your 2nd trade: we’ve been over this before, steer clear of Hately unless there’s a long term hole in the GWS midfield. JS is just poor.

      1

      0
    1. Both will comfortably clear their B.E’s this week, so I wouldn’t expect either to get any cheaper than this.

Macrae seems to have put his lowest scores for this year behind him and looked great over the weekend. Think Kelly’s form is better though. Did all that he could against the Hawks and GWS have a juicy run coming up, including Carlton and the Suns.

After factoring in form, it comes down to their bye and Kelly being 20k more expensive.

      3

      0
  46. I need to get rid of Heeney ASAP and I’m looking at two options. Right now the only good value forward (that I don’t have) would be Dunks but I believe it’s way more worth it to get in Oliver for only 50k more. So here are my options.

    TU
    Heeney > Dunkley
    (30k left)

    TD
    Heeney > Ham
    Atkins > Oliver
    (100k left)

This leaves my fwd line weak but so far this year the forwards prices have been very up and down, meaning I could probably get a better discount at some point. It’s looking like Oliver is the best value of them all at the moment and a potential Boak upgrade next week looks good (154 BE).

    1

    0
  47. Looking at both Yeo and Gaff as POD picks that can both potentially finish Top 8 Mid. It really comes down to which one will cop more of a tag each week. Who do we think?

    0

    2
  48. Thoughts on bringing in Mitch Robinson? Bit of a POD and the last three games have been promising.

    2

    1
    1. I had him last year before i traded him out the week preceding his score of 180 odd

He is like the girl with the curl…..when he is good he is very very good but when he is bad he can be very very bad.

Be prepared to have a rollercoaster ride.

      3

      1
  49. Woulda liked a premo for scrim down Atkins up but can only get a Rockliff type hell no. So Walshy’s time is up Scrimshaw/Atkins to down will wait on injury news on them two before i decide and Walsh to Mac.

    0

    0
  50. Walsh + Rozee -> Macrae and T Kelly
My only issue i still have drew, baker, hore, moore and one of either stack/constable on field, still worth?

T/U – yeah huge upgrades and both hitting good form
T/D – no just go gibbons to macrae or drew to kelly

    9

    1
  51. Is Zac Williams a legit keeper now? I don’t have him and was wondering if he is a solid choice over other premos?

    8

    0
    1. 50/50 for me. I wouldn’t go upgrading to him, as this week and next week he’ll be close to his max price. Wait for Whitfield and Lloyd to come down in price in the coming 1-2 weeks.

The others I’d be looking at would be Laird and Hurn. Maybe Sicily too, but he’s suspension-prone in my eyes.

      2

      1
  52. Looking at getting J. Kelly or Oliver. I personally think Kelly will be the higher scorer, but his fitness is a bit of a worry. Also not yet sure if Oliver will get back to regular 100+ scores that he has been lacking in general this year.

    TU: Kelly
    TD: Oliver

Would also consider Treloar and Bontempelli

    5

    3
    1. Would consider maybe holding them till their byes. Moore can still make money and Walsh will come back up over the next month, plays Saints, Dons and Lions. Fast forward to the byes, they’ve both made/maintained their price and can upgraded to premos coming off their respective byes.

Think freeing up cash by trading some cows is the better move this week. Drew, Atkins and Duursma can all be culled- although there’s no harm in holding the three of them for another week.

  53. Just read the breaking even posting. Very interesting reading.
I was surprised to see the Balta was still price under $200K.
Now with Nank the tank injured Balta may play in the ruck which judging by his performance on the weekend would result in a significant increase in points and price.
Hypothetically, if Soldo is not named then I am very tempted and could trade out
    t/up Billings
    t/dwn Drew
My other forwards are currently Daniel Lycett Marshall Bines Moore Kelly. Dangerfield was moved to the mids last round so I had cover should he not play.

    1

    0
    1. if Soldo is not named, it could be a masterstroke Shaggi. His game time has improved out of sight the last couple of weeks (82-95% vs 51-62% early rounds) … and so has his scoring. If he can average 60+ minimum, he’s gonna make at least another $100k.
      might even be tempted …

  54. Gday guys, need help with choosing between Dunks and Daniel as a fwd upgrade. Started with Dunks, as I liked his prospects if he got a run in the mids, but then turfed him for Boak after all those subpar scores. He looks the goods again tho as he and Libba seem to have switched roles, which should mean some real juicy scores. Dunno if I can trust Magnets tho.

As for Daniel, he’s obviously the safer option, but with a lower ceiling. Which one do you guys reckon I should go?

    TU: Dunks
    TD: Daniel
Comment: Some other bloke under 515k

  55. Looking for opinions on top 6 forwards

Need 1 at least that plays R12

    Have Danger, Kelly, Lycett, Moore,

Like Mundy & Boak but that will be post R12.

Heeney??? His ankle injury is a concern
    Cameron- KPP

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

  56. Have Walsh, Libba in the mid that both have high break evens, as well as brodie smith in the back line, with 139k in the bank.
TU: Walsh to Macrae, save a trade
TD: Gibbons to someone like hately, Libba to Macrae
however, trading libba to dunkley to get dunkley before his price sky rockets could work as well.
    What do you think?

    2

    1
  57. Didn’t get Kelly T a few weeks ago as I was fixing another problem so war chest comes into play now. Don’t want to trade Miers in (BE 46) but the need is greater with Dunkley’s BE at 35.

    Moore D > Kelly T
    Miers > Dunkley

then upgrade matt crouch to lachie neale?

I say yes if so if Crouch is out.
I also have Crouch but due to trades, I’ll have to hold onto him.

    1. yep. Just check your bye structure!

Fyfe and Macrae are both Rd12. Walsh > JKelly would retain your current bye numbers. Kelly loves a flat track and the Giants’ upcoming fixture couldn’t be much flatter!

      1. good looking out allsaints!
I was too busy concentrating on the right time to trade that I neglected the bye structures.

The next premo on my list is actually Kelly.
Now I’m wondering if I should pick up Macrae or Fyfe first.

        Thanks for the heads up!

  63. Drew into Dunkley…..Gibbons into Stocker….186K remaining with 23 trades once these trades are done.

  69. Decided I’ve given up on Angus Brayshaw.

Going to stick with Heeney & hope he comes good…

TU Angus Brayshaw To Sloane with 1 trade.

TD Angus Brayshaw To Macrae with 2 trades.

Will need to downgrade someone like Atkins to afford him this week…

    3

    2
    1. If you’re only picking Sloane because you can afford him and not because he’s in your Top6 target list then I wouldn’t bother.
Macrae is the more likely to be Top6. I’d go for him.
