  1. Not a trade question but does anyone know why Andy Brayshaw is so harshly scored? It’s getting ridiculous seeing him dominate games and rarely crack higher than low 100s.

    1. Atrocious use, GKMC.

9 clangers, 2 OOTF, 61% DE, sprayed a shot at goal.

Should have gone 140 plus smh.

      16

      4
  2. What do you do with Bailey Smith?

Bye next round and then misses 2 matches through suspension.

    T/U Hold
    T/D Trade

    1. I think it depends how many trades you have left and how far you have to go to full premo.

Smith to Merrett will net you $35K this week. Just sayin’.

      1. if i knew Merret was going to head in a forwards direction with disposal and use it more than hes mandatory 1 meter hp or 15 meter kick i trade him in at that price

        1

    2. If he can appeal it to 1 week bye I’ll hold. If it’s 3 weeks he’s a trade imo. I’ve had him since about round 4 so happier to trade it will be those that bought him in 2 rounds ago with the whole DPP situation that may be alot more dirty on him and inclined to hold..

  3. Alex Witherden. 2 sub 70 scores in the last month, has his bye this week.

    Hold = TU
    Trade = TD

  4. Initial plans are:
    Clark –> Wehr
    McComb –> Owens
Jeffrey –> Merrett (team complete with 9 trades left)

but we’ll see if I can do anything clever with Petracca and Carroll instead..

    6

    3
  5. Clark, McComb and SDK -> Sinclair, Merrett and Owens

Will give me 18 playing and a completed team.

  6. This round traded Daicos for McDonald which actually cost me 23 points and 2 league wins.

    This round it will be:
Out – McCartin, SDK, Hinge & Heeney
    In – Docherty, Wehr/Durdin, Kelly & Parish

Should still leave me about $280k in the bank.
I get trading out the first 3 may be a little puzzling when they have more $’s to make but I need a few extra warm bodies for round 13

  7. Team announcements are really going to dictate trades this week. Tentative plans are:

    OUT: SDK, McComb and Clark
    IN: Wehr, Merrett and Walsh

However, I fully expect Wehr to be dropped this week….

    11

    1. S. Durdin likely comes in to cover Weitering for the time being, Chillo. Could work instead of Wehr who, I agree, is probably on his ass.

      13

  8. trades. 16 playing this week so forced to do some trades

    Bailey smith(unfortunate)>Laird/walsh
    McComb>Owens
    Hinge>durdin

    5

    0
    1. Laird’s on a bye this week so probably look elsewhere. Could you do Merrett instead and then turn Hinge into someone better than Durdin?

      6

  9. Take 1 of my way too early trades for the week…

    McCartin – Sinclair
    SDK – Wehr
    McComb – Parish
    C.Stephens – Owens

    8

    2
    1. Neither.

Rustle up the cash for Walsh or Parish this week or wait. Lyons or Titch won’t be Top 8.

      19

      8
  10. Big trade this week for me with my last boost I’m bringing in Wehr, Owens, Merrett, Sinclair for SDK, Clark, Stephens and:

TU: Witherden (keep $173k ITB and turn Darcy Cameron into a premo in round 14)
TD: McCartin ($51k ITB and at “full premo” with some middling players like Cameron, Witherden and Heeney but 10 trades to work on that)

    5

    13
  11. So… I haven’t had Hewett all year. Been waiting for him to return to earth. Obv hasn’t happened. Now he’s looking like a must. My luck I’ll bring him in this week and he’ll spud a 50 like Darcy just did. Do people think Hewett can maintain scores to justify $575k the rest of the way? Or is Doch better value /safer bet (more proven scorer)?

    31

    2
    1. Neither.

Rustle up the cash for Walsh or Parish this week or wait. Wines or Titch won’t be Top 8.

      13

      14
    2. GG
Ollie is a midfield priority for Port…He is not going to half forward …Titch is a good call but does he he have total midfield priority this season at the Hawks given the coach is intent on giving his up and comers a chance to show their wares?

      2

      0
  12. POLL REQUEST : How many trades do coaches think they will have remaining after the byes – tempted to use my last boost this week, but doing 4 trades seems extreme….

    12

    2
    1. Keep a boost up your sleeve. My theory is to work backwards.

How many trades do you want for SC finals? I’m hoping for 4 with a boost
How many trades do you want post byes? I’m hoping for at least 8, maybe 10.

      8

      1
  13. Just a good rule to remember this week, any round 12 player you trade in will play one whole extra game than round 13 or 14 bye players so try to focus on players from Carlton, Essendon, GWS, Port, St Kilda and Richmond. If you think they’ll outscore them by a lot (eg Gawn vs Nankervis) it can be worth making the risk but just make sure to keep that in mind

  14. Quad trade alert.

    OUT: SDK, McCartin, Stephens, Rosas
IN: Docherty, Parish, Owens and S Durdin/Wehr (pending selection).

    9

    3
    1. Excruciatingly hard deciding between Parish and Walsh – at the end of the day, Parish still plays both North and West Coast in the run home for the rest of the season, while Walsh only plays West Coast.

      4

      0
      1. However there’s less dependency for Carlton to play bad teams for Walsh to score points. Walsh is my priority trade as my final mid player and I won’t look back making it!

        1

        0
    1. Nah, Steve. Going from one butcher to another, doesn’t solve the problem

Either pony up for Walsh/Parish or hold.

      3

      5
  15. Is Parish (current price $625,800 / who is up $4,500 for the year) worth the extra $105,000 over Merrett (current price $520,700 / who is down $105,000 for the year)?

Both averaged around 115 last year.

Merrett also averaged around 115 the year before (2020) – whereas Parish averaged 86.7 points in 2020.

I’m thinking about going Merrett to save the dough for future trades, but would be interested to get peoples thoughts?

Don’t want to go Walsh – as I already have Cripps, Docherty and Hewett from the Blues.

And I am a bit concerned about having 4 x Carlton premiums for Carltons round 22 game versus the reigning premiers Melbourne – which is preliminary final week for SC leagues.

Essendon appear to have a pretty friendly draw for the SC finals.

    Thanks.

    11

    1. I reckon Merrett is a lock to average 110-115, if you take out his 57 then he’s averaging 113. Parish just has a much better chance to go 120+ and has been super consistent this year but personally I’ll be going Merrett cause I agree that I don’t feel good spending the extra cash.

      10

      2
      1. I do discuss Merrett during this week’s FP.

However one thing of note for that score of 57. Rowbottom cleaned him up, head-high early in the second. Merrett didn’t look right for the rest of the game. Hence why I don’t put to much weight into his score against the Swans.

I’ll be bringing him in, agree that a 110 average from here-on is feasible!

        8

        0
        1. Yeah Abs, completely agree which is why I took it out of the average. Reckon he’s the definition of that but also a rare gem.

Also, commiserations to your boys yesterday. Fought really well and a bit unlucky to not pull that off. I may have bet on Hawthorn for the first time this year so might be my bad karma there.

          3

          0
          1. Ahaha, yeah was a great showing from the lads. Some horrendous umpiring soured the game for both teams.

            1

            0
    2. What does the extra 100k do for your team? Will Parish outscore Merrett, most likely.

But if Merrett & player X outscores Parish & player Y?

      4

  16. 13 trades left
    Is Zorko a sell?
T/U: Yes, he’s injured and inconsistent
T/N: No, burnt too many trades

    16

    10
    1. Zorko is known for yo-yo scoring – nothing has changed since people brought him in 4-5 weeks ago. Scored 80 points in the second half yesterday with an injured hand. Plenty of 130s (and sub-80s) to come.

      5

      0
    2. I’ll admit I binned him.. think the time to sell was last week prior to his 30k drop.

For the time being he’s a hold. Won’t drop too much further, and you can re-assess next week during his bye.

  17. Looking at finalising my team before swapping out the likes of Cogs for Bont eventually.

    SDK > Sinclair
    McCartin > D’Ambrosio
    McComb > Owens
    Clark > Mills

Leaves me with 8 trades left. I know Mills has the bye so the question is whether I bring him or Parish in who has played his bye. With these trades in mind,
I’ll have 17 on field which makes the case for Parish just a little more. Cheers

    1
  18. Petracca, Bazza, SDK, Soligo/Jeffrey
    To
Parish, Walsh, Durdin (pending selection), Owens

Using my final boost. TU or TD?

    5

    9
  19. Keen to keep FWD/DEF swing for coverage but looking to bring in the best Rd 12 bye MID.

Seems to boil down to this:

    TU:
Trade SDK / Keep McCartin / Bring in Wines

    TD:
Trade McCartin / Keep SDK / Bring in JKelly

$200 short of keeping McCartin and getting JKelly

    5

    11
  20. I’ve got Parish already. Is it ok to bring in Merrett as well?

TU – yes, go for it
TD – no, too many ESS MIDs

    22

    12
  21. Is it worth bringing in Will Brodie as my F6? Obviously kicking myself I didn’t get in on ground floor, but he’s legit and doesn’t look to be slowing down. Feel free to leave a comment with alternative suggestions.

    TU-Get Brodie

    TD-Better options

    17

    8
      1. People said the same about hewett with Walsh, I wouldn’t wait if it fits your team I’d go it

        5

        0
        1. Although I agree, think Walsh and Hewett are a bit more flexible in their positions than Brodie and Fyfe.

          0

          0
    1. I think it was FD said that in SC…only look forward when making decisions. I brought Brodie in this week and it saved me. Sure, it would have been nice to start him, but I did start Gresham so not much lost. Brodie will be an excellent f6 at worst…Fyfe more likely to play a lot up fwd.

      7

      1
  22. Plan was to go McComb and Rosas to Merrett and a rookie this week. With Rosas scoring well and having a good BE. Should I trade McCartin instead and get Parish over Merrett? Or should I just go with the value pick in Merrett so I have the funds for a good F6 as whoever I hold out of McCartin and Rosas will be my F6 for the time being.

TU: Use the Cash and get Parish
TD: Go for value in Merrett

    5

    19
  23. My next two trades should be:
T/u – Parish/Walsh this week, Ben Keays next week
T/d- Zach Merrett this week, Laird next week

    7

    28
  24. Who is the better premo to trade in?

    TU – Josh Jelly
    TD – Darcy Parish

    Or Merrett/Walsh
    Thanks

    15

    15
    1. Surprised at the general lack of love for Josh Kelly. Has North this week after Touk dropped 167, Sinclair 140 (R11), Oliver 178 (R10), Wines 155 (R9), Brayshaw 134 (R8) and Cripps 138 (R7).

North aren’t ready for this Jelly. Assume the position.

      17

      1
  25. TU: McComb, Clark, SDK, C.Stephens > Parish, Sinclair, Owens, Wehr (25k itb)

TD: McComb, McCartin, SDK > Parish, Sinclair, Owens ($100k itb)

With McCartin doing well thinking about going early on Stephens – probably gets dropped post bye for Danger anyway – would have to use an extra trade to get there though

    2

    11
  26. Early trade thoughts:

    T/U
    McComb -> Owens
    Bazlenka -> Josh Kelly
    123k itb

    T/D
    McComb -> Owens
    Bazlenka -> Merrett
    221k itb

Pending selection both options give me 19 on field for R13.

    12

    11
  27. Was gonna trade rosas and hinge although they both just got 80s
    Now thinking of going
Clark, Stephens, Dixon > Owens, Parish, Strnadica/Teakle
Means i still have a lot of money to trade out in the coming weeks with hinge, daicos, hayes and rosas
    Thoughts? Yeh or nah

    6

    1
  28. Do we need to give Josh Kelly a bit more credit as a trade in option this week?

5 round average of 130, has North this week and seems to have a very good role under new coach.

    26

    1
  29. Last mid premo pick.

    Tu: Merrett and 109k
    Td: Walsh
My side will be full premo with 11 trades left.
Already have: Macrea , Miller, Brayshaw,
    Cripps, Oliver, Petracca,Neale.

    9

    15
  30. I am considering trading out Clark for Gresham this week.
Gresham will be my M9/F7 for the rest of the season.
Will also give me an extra player for the next two weeks.
    Handy Mid/Fwd status.
    Good idea?

    15

    2
  31. Have one Premo DEF and one Premo MID to bring in, who should I get??

    T/U – J.Sinclair

    T/D – J.Kelly

    18

    11
  32. TU: McCartin > Parish
    TD: C.Stephens > Merrett

Will still have two more premo mids to upgrade afterwards; does C.Stephens have more money to make than McCartin?

    6

    19
      1. Have a nasty feeling that Cooper Stephens gets dropped next week.

They have both Danger and Sam Menegola to return after the bye.

And whilst Stephens has been solid – he started really well on the weekend with 3 or 4 contested ball wins & a good kick to a leading player inside 50 in the first quarter.

But then he faded right out of the game?

And he only played 52% game time on the weekend – after only 64% & 60% game time the previous two weeks.

So either he does not yet have the engine for a larger game time %, or Chris Scott doesn’t trust him just yet?

Have a real concern that Carroll from Carlton & Wehr from GWS both get dropped this week – and then Cooper Stephens gets dropped after Geelong’s bye 🙁 🙁

Owens might be the last rookie standing that actually gets a game – and maybe Durdin comes in this week!!

        3

        0
  33. 17 trades remaining

OUT C Durdin, SDK, McComb (keeping McCartin for now)
IN Sinclair Owens and Wehr (assuming both named)

    Swing McCartin to D6

    TU Looks good
    TD Rethink

    8

    0
  34. Currently have 20 playing for this round, but tempted to be aggressive. 13 trades left after McComb to Owens which is a lock for me

    T/U
    Upgrade Clark to Boak

    T/D
    Downgrade Hayes to Teakle
    Upgrade MacDonald to Sam Walsh

This would leave me full premo besides Nick Daicos who i will trade for Stewart in a few weeks

    2

    20
      1. Would Hayes be playing for you this week? It so then I strongly favour the first option just cause having more players on field boosts your chances of a good score this week. Also, any chance you can afford Merrett over Boak?
If Hayes isn’t playing for you this week or next, then definitely fine to get rid of him.

        2

        0
        1. Hayes is playing for me for both bye weeks

Can afford Merrett over Boak but Boak is averaging more and a bit cheaper.

Also, worry is not getting the top top mids, i don’t have Clayto, Mills Walsh or Laird and only 2 more spots in my midfield

          0

          0
          1. Fair. Personally I’ll be bringing Merrett in cause he only has the one bad game and as Abs mentioned earlier in this thread, it was after he got cleaned up pretty well and was struggling through the game. Ignoring that he’s averaging 113 so I reckon he’s a bit safer but Boak is an elite player. I reckon I’d just do Clark to one of them though cause having Hayes on field the next two weeks will be great for you.

            1

            0
  35. Trying to decide between two options. Currently have 17 trades left

TU: use 4 trades bring in Parish, Sinclair, Wher and d/m Donut (or 102k defender) and be complete with room for some upgrades ie Ridley D6 Butters/Cogs F6

TD: use 3 trades to bring in Parish, Sinclair and a rookie via ditching Petracca before he drops another 40k this week . Use 2 trades next week for final upgrade

    8

    0
  36. Thinking Heeney, SDK, McComb, Clark to Walsh, Sinclair, Wehr, 102k fwd.

If any rookie forwards are named will pick them up instead of a non playing.
Leaves me with 19 on field and additionally looping Wehr and Daicos.
22 premos but only 5 forwards and looking to get in English next week

    2

    2
  37. Which rookie mid to trade out this week:

    TU: Jack Carroll
    TD: Cooper Stephens

I want to keep the one with the best ongoing job security (their byes are not relevant to me)

    3

    12
  38. T/U –
    Petracca > Josh Kelly
    Mccartin > J. Sinclair
De Koning > Wehr/Durdin/ Any playing def rookie

    T/D –
    De Koning > Sinclair / J.Kelly
NOD > Any playing def rookie
McComb > Any playing mid rookie

    5

    10
  39. Rowell, Whitfield, SDK > Cleary, Parish, JKelly

    TU- Go for it
TD- Keep Rowell for cash after his ton last week

    5

    6
  40. Bit of a dilemma : need to get a forward ruck into my forward line and was going to trade out the consistently impressive McCartin. But I’m now debating whether I could do better keeping him at the moment and getting rid of either D Moore or Heeney. T/U for “trade out McCartin” or T/D for “dump Moore or Heeney”.

    4

    19
  41. Which 2 would you recommend of the following guns- can afford any combination
    Walsh, Parish, JKelly, Merrett

    0

    0
    1. First two IMO if funds are no issue.

If funds are a bit tight, then I would go Walsh and Merrett.

      5

      0
    1. Walsh is probably more consistent but Parish and Kelly I think have a higher ceiling. I have been pondering this same question and went Parish & Kelly. Both have match ups with North still to come.
I will have one premium mid to upgrade to for round 14 and will have to decide between Miller, Bont & Walsh

      3

      0
      1. Parish’s ceiling been severely compromised by horrific DE, a handball happy system and a poor presenting FWD line. Started him.

Only gone over 130 3x times and had a few 40 touch games for low tons. Very frustrating.

Walsh cooking with gas, incredible tank and can score anywhere. Have him ahead of Parish for mine.

        3

        0
  42. Maybe this is something to consider if you’re shopping for a keeper, or are thinking of dumping De Koning: Geelong play West Coast twice and North once between now and the end of the home and away season.

    0

    2
    1. Do defenders, and more specifically rookie defenders, do well against these sides? Considering the ball is generally up the other end.

But good point, I was thinking of keeping SDK for D7/F7 cover and selling McCartin.

      3

      0
      1. I like the reverse and I’m keeping Paddy as D/F7. Paddy just seems to keep improving and it honestly wouldn’t surprise me to see him finish the season off with some triple digit scores.

        2

        0
  43. Bit of a dilemma, I have Sicily, Hewett, Dawson, Crisp, Short as my premium defenders. I can add either Stewart or Sinclair to finish it off.

    Do I:

TU: Wait and bring in Stewart after bye (price will drop a bit)
TD: Take Sinclair now (projected to increase in price by $27k)

Comment: Take Sinclair in the middle instead of Walsh to finish off my midfield

    3

    11
  44. Who do I Trade Out?
    TU Dayne Zorko
    TD Bailey Smith
    I’m down to 12 trades …eek!
    Thanks Coaches

    1

    21
  45. TU: Merrett
    TD: Sinclair

This is for my final mid spot. Would prefer Walsh or Parish but too pricey when I will need cash the following week to trade in my final premium forward. Tried to work the numbers of doing 4 trades this week to finish my team completely, but trading in English for R12 means I don’t have enough to make it happen unfortunately.

    16

    4
  46. On second thoughts, Bazlenka can go in the bin. I can do this instead:

    OUT: Smith, McComb and SDK
    IN: Merrett, Jelly and Docherty

    17

    1
    1. Love it. I’m fond of Jelly, easy VC choice this week, should be locked in for a 130+

How far off full premo Chillo?

      4

      0
      1. One more mid, plus I have Pendles at D7.

I think I’m going to hold out for Steele’s return. I’m sentimental like that.

        5

        0
  47. Without listing my entire lineup, for pure $ to points impact:

    TU: Walsh
    TD: Houston

Thinking that Houston is value and Walsh may come down a little over the next couple of rounds.

    6

    7
  48. Need to add 2 premium backs to my lineup, what combination should I choose out of these; Stewart, Sinclair, Docherty, Houston, Dawson

    2

    0
  49. O’Driscoll, McCartin, De Koning, McComb
    > Wehr, Owens, Walsh, Sinclair

Will only have 9 trades left, but only one spot to upgrade for full premium.

    Good idea? Or wait?

    My side with changes:

DEF: Sicily, Hewett, Dawson, Sinclair, Crisp, Short (Khamis, Wehr)

MID: Oliver, Neale, Walsh, Parish, Laird, Macrae, Miller, Cripps (Clark, C. Stephens, Owens)

    RUCK: Gawn, Preuss (Teakle)

FWD: English, Dunkley, Brodie, Butters, Coniglio, JHF (MacDonald, Rioli)

    Thoughts?

    4

    1
    1. Nice side- exactly the same playing backs as me… very similar on other lines too.
Your side looks fantastic- all the best on that last premium!
Wonder if the extra trades this year will mean most sides exactly same!
Might be about finding that ‘rare gem’ come finals time!

      1

      0
      1. Thanks mate, I was thinking the same thing, whether it’s worth taking a risk with the final couple of positions. Josh Kelly, Merrett, Liberatore, Fyfe, Goldstein, Dusty, Duncan all considerations

        2

  50. These 2 trades are locks…..

    SDK > Sinclair
    NOD > Wehr

Do I use another trade and move on McComb to any other playing rookie which will give me 20 on field.

T/U – Just use the 2 trades and have 19 on field
T/D – Trade McComb for a rookie and have 20 on field.

    Cheers legends

    1. Wouldn’t trade just for an extra player on field but if you still need to get to full premo and McComb helps you build your bank, then yep – go for it.

        1. Yeah, Max. Culley and S. Durdin should be first drop and then maybe Strnadica comes back for his 3rd. Monitor teamsheets, yep.

    1. I’m sure people are starting to hate this answer but: neither, neither and neither.

Don’t mess around with MIDs, Peter.

Either pay up for Walsh or Parish (even waiting a week if necessary) or angle for a R13 MID. Don’t condemn yourself to an M8 who isn’t close to Top 8 and prone to sub/low ton.

      3

      4
      1. I have to disagree GD. Merrett is proven and his bad game was practically injury related. I agree all the others are far too much of a risk but Merrett can definitely do 115 from here which is great from an M8. I will add that I reckon Walsh definitely scores better but I’m not convinced that we have to spend the extra $100k for the extra 5 points a game and I definitely don’t think it’s worth missing out on the points for a week. To make up for one less game, he’d have to outscore Merrett by 11 points per game and that’s ignoring the higher price too. Parish I still worry about a bit and I’m not convinced that he definitely beats Merrett from here.

        11

        1
        1. Evening, Johnno.

Fair point and the rationale on him doing 115 and saving the coin is valid. If you’re not concerned with the knocks against him and think he can do 115, then it’s a no brainer.

Tbh I don’t think there’s much of a debate Parish covering him. Gets it done easily just on CP work, despite also being a butcher. Walsh then has them both – been singing his praises in this thread and his form and numbers speak for themself.

Again though, if you think he can do 115 then that’s a value proposition that cannot be ignored. I’m just personally not there. People will disagree on Zerrett, looks like I’ll be in the minority lol but hope it pans out for anyone jumping on.

That said I’ve been loving your contributions on the TT threads, Johnno. Been spitting out some really good takes.

          Best of luck.

          1. Thanks GD. Love being on here and talking things out. Helps me clarify my own ideas better too.

Zerrett hasn’t been lighting the world on fire and I’m considering him at 113 already. Even if that’s all he does, it’s great value for what we’re paying. Green, Boak and Wines I agree are all playing on either inflated averages or what we saw them do last year and I’d steer well clear but I just think Merrett is part of the higher tier category of mids and reckon the cash you save allows a lot more.

            3

            2
        2. Walsh doesn’t have one less game compared to Merrett (unless there is something I don’t know about). Both Carlton & Essendon have already had their bye in round 12.

          0

          1
    2. My two cents worth.

I would pick Merrett out of the 3 options and he was one of the first picked for me in 2020 and 2021 but not this year.

Merrett is susceptible to a tag and most sides know if they can stop Merrett, they slow the Bombers right down.

Without looking at the stats, my observation would be Merrett’s possessions and DE would be down compared to recent seasons.

Merrett is playing in a poor side and I think this is effecting his scoring.

If I had the cash I would be going Sam Walsh every day of the week, high ceiling and ultra consistent.

With the additions of Hewett & Cerra and the resurgence of Kennedy, Walsh doesn’t have to play inside mid and cop a tag like he did when Cripps was the only other premo mid in the Carlton side. He can now be the outside link with his elite endurance and silky skills.

  51. Went early and got Owens last week so I’m trading out SDK for Wehr/Durdin but am relying on Hamilton or Carroll getting a start to field 18. If neither play:

    T/U – Heeney to Walsh leaving 1 F and 2 D left to complete
T/D – Hinge (projected to make another 40k before peak) to Docherty

Bont and Stewart will be my final 2 upgrades

    0

    7
    1. Heeney (95) -> Walsh (120) = +25

      Hinge (65) -> Docherty (105) = +40

Even if those numbers are touch tight or generous one way or the other, Hinge up to a premo netting more points on paper.

Only justification for Walsh would be on ceiling and the added VC option – which I get, because the motherf*cker is a jet. Guaranteed Top 8 and buries the other finishing MID options being considered.

  52. My team is complete but I’m not happy with Taranto. With DPPs I can bring in either a mid or Stewart (liking his price soon). However, I burnt a few trades on some silly decisions, and only have 9 left for injuries and finals. To get Stewart I need to do my downgrade this week. Question:

TU: hold Taranto, keep 9 trades and sleep better at night.

TD: Taranto -> $630k mid or Stewart -2 trades (7 trades remaining for season). Sleep is for the weak.

    1

    22
    1. Thank you all! I also saw Chaos’ twitter repost where Taranto is expected to be an out this Round. Means I won’t cop such a $ drop and aligns better to Stewart. Also, further reason why I should trade him.

TD: Walsh which leave me about 2K

    1. Depends on what you’d do with the cash Craig. If it’s not gonna help you, then Walsh is a no brainer. If you still have any spots to upgrade or even some players you’d like to side swap, the extra cash is helpful

      2

      0
      1. Thinking about i think i going to do Merret still have one spots left for forward and defense so the extra cash may help get the good premo.

  54. Reckon selection this week going to throw up a few challenges.
Have Owens and happy with his last game, but with a few to come back- Billings, Hunter Clark, Higgins, etc, he might be squeezed out.
Hoping Rioli for Tigers gets a game too.
Otherwise might clock up a donut or two!
Noticed one of the leaders in our comp has about 18 out this week- not sure he planned well for the byes.
    TU- expecting donuts this week

    1. Hey Kota, I’m a saints fan and very sure those players will push him out over time and he won’t be in the team for all of the remaining 11 games for the season but I’d be stunned if he’s not in this week. Can’t have a kid with a 10 tackle game getting dropped the week after so I’ll be jumping on.

  56. Still hurts, having brought in S.Darcy (was $582k with the lower BE of 68) and arguably better shorter term match ups, over Gawn ($553k, BE 119) who’s sharing ruck duties with Jackson; only to have Darcy not achieve his lower breakeven and Gawn absolutely obliterate his higher one!

Even after swallowing any pride, I can’t bring myself to swap Darcy to Gawn as they could just as easily swap scores in coming weeks. Instead, should I sell Preuss (who I’d have held these past few rounds for nothing)?

TU: Bring in Gawn to make my rucks a formidable Gawn/Darcy combo
TD: Save the trade and stick with Darcy/Preuss combo.

Before trades, I have 15 trades remaining and my F6 as the only remaining non-premo (who I plan to replace with Bont next week)

    3

    7
    1. If Preuss is named this week, you get two games out of him over Gawn. In the two games overall, he’ll go up more than Gawn in just the one, or at least similarly plus you’ll get more points over the bye next week. If you want Gawn after his bye, then you could swap Preuss to him then. If Preuss isn’t back this week, then ignore all of that and jump on

      2

      0
      1. Thanks for your valid points.

Similarly, I could hold Preuss on the bench this week and bring in Gawn through DPPs. This would give me coverage next week as well as allow Preuss to gain further in price.

        Thoughts?

TU: Bench Preuss if bringing Gawn in
TD: Sell Preuss to facilitate bringing Gawn in

        0

        7
        1. I reckon it’s still a bit of a waste to have Preuss on the bench in a bye week. You want to have as many players scoring for you as possible during byes. I’d probably wait for team announcements. If Preuss is named then stick with the original poll and hold the trade. If he’s not, then you can bring Gawn in for him.

  58. Do I move on Petracca to either Jelly or Walsh? (I am playing for overall)

Christian just butchers the ball and appears he clearly won’t be top 8! If he scores his predicted score of 100 he will drop down 38k to 485k. If I make this move I will get an extra game out of Jelly/Walsh which will net me more points. I’m very confused though because Petracca is a star. In his defence he was crook last week and probably still getting over the flu.

    T/U – Trade him to a more consistent jelly/walsh.
T/D – Keep the faith only got him in a month ago, he will come back strong.

Thanks everyone if you have read this far 🙂

Stewart, Hewett, Sicily, Crisp, Short, Daicos (Thompson, Wehr)
Neale, Oliver, Macrae, Cripps, Miller, Brayshaw, Merrett, Boak (Clark, Carroll, Owens)
    Gawn, Preuss (McBride)
English, Parker, Treloar, Brodie, Butters, Coniglio (2x rookies)

TD: Or should I just trade Clark to Heeney in the next week or 2 for extra cover on 2 lines?

  63. Seen a few similar posts but i’ll keep it simple.

CHRISTIAN PETRACCA – BE of 189, projected to lose a further 38 k which will take him to 485k. We all know what he’s capable of, but his disposal efficiency is a real worry. It doesent seem like he is going to be a top 10 mid. He did average 120 in the second half of last year.

Do you have any rookies that need upgrading?

If you trade him, who are you going to get in – upgrade or sideways trade?

Petracca sitting at M8 would be fine because he could come good in a big way.

    1. Bit disappointed that Carlton have said Marchbank back this week. Great for the guy after about 3 years out- but already over $200k not a real help to grab cash from DeKoning or McCartin.
Was really hoping Durdin got a gig- as I see him scoring between 50-80 most weeks- on past years performances.
Teams getting closer- we’ll soon know!

      4

      0
      1. All speculation, but I got word from a friend on Monday, that usually gets an inside word, saying that Durdin will play.

Was also suggested that Marchbank was most likely to come straight in, bypassing VFL and coming straight into the 1’s (which has happened). And of course, surprisingly Harry McKay to return this week (which is looking likely).

Marchbank doesn’t exactly solve all their issues defensively, they still need another tall IMO, and Durdin fits the bill.

Take it with a grain of salt ^, but keep an eye out for Durdin to be named!

  72. I have ruck line fatigue this season…

My starting rucks were Grundy and English with Hayes (StK) on the bench. And in my Forward line I had Xerri on the field and Dixon on the bench.

I now have Witts, Preuss, and Hayes in the ruck… Cameron on the field in the forward line, and Williams (WCE) as a swing on the forward bench.

And… I’m thinking about how to bring in Gawn and English (again!)…

    1. Hi Magic,

      haha, welcome to SC!!

My advice would be to not overthink bringing in a player you’ve previously traded out. Especially if that player happens to be the best option for you, and sets you up for success for the rest of the competition.

Treat every week and your possible ins and outs on their merit (and in isolation to any other decisions you’ve made through the year).

Easier said than done sometimes, but good luck with whatever you decide to do

      Cheers, Wayne

    1. Preuss is their first choice ruck, don’t think that’s in doubt. Just seems like he isn’t 100%. Illness and then something else has happened.

GWS being the least transparent side and sourcing their med staff from Doctors Without Diplomas is what’s making the situation so hard to read.

They play the Sunday. Hope to hear he plays tmmrw – I sure as f*ck am.

  75. Rewording my poll from earlier. Bringing in Sinclair this week to finish my defence but currently don’t have Stewart or Sicily so I’m wondering if I sideswap Witherden to Sinclair so I don’t deal with the cash drop and then can straight upgrade McCartin to Tom Stewart in two or 3 weeks. So

TU: Cull Witherden before he bleeds cash
TD: Upgrade McCartin. Cash cows need to be culled at some stage

  76. With Hayes out and Preuss unlikely, would trading Preuss to Toby Nankervis be an option?

    3 round average 125.7, 5 round average 116.4.

Has scored over 100 in 5 out of his last 6 games including 2 over 130 and 84 in the other game.

Had his bye and will play every game unless injured.

Not someone I would normally look at but the only other real option this week is Darcy and he is really hit and miss and has his bye next week. I already own Max.

    N. Long > Clarke

15 Trades 2 boosts remaining after the above, 11k ITB.

Have held Stephens and Long all season, but Stephens been playing well in the 2’s and can’t seem to crack a strong Swans lineup, Long has been close but now has a hamstring listed at 2 weeks. Trying to get some cash generation for final upgrades, do have Daicos and DeKoning as trade options next week if some defensive rookies pop up!

    1. I don’t think Judson Clarke is where you want to go for cash gen. No lock to get a second game let alone a third and still don’t know what he’ll be scoring. Have you got Wehr? If he’s named tonight then worth grabbing him.

      0

      0
  80. Sorry everyone, another question;

Is it worth trading DeKoning to Wehr (if selected) this week for the cash generation if Wehr wont be on field due to already having 6 Defenders (Sicily, Hewett, Sinclair, Short, Zorko, Daicos). Cant move the magnets to change this.

Or is maybe a wait for Durdin a better move, given DeKoning can be in the mix again for round 14?

    1. Depends on what you think they’ll score. Just on averages, Gawn playing 10 games for your team at 120 ppg gets you 1200 points from here. Nank playing 11 at 100 gets you 1100 but if you think he can get to 110 then it’s 1210 and much more appealing.

Also depends if bringing Gawn in will only result in a donut for you next week or if you’ll have cover
