Trade Talk W4 Finals, 2013

Written by Motts on August 26 2013

If you’ve still got trades left you’re a better man than I. Used my last one on a sneaky upgrade of Hartlett to Harry Taylor in my cash league over the weekend and ended up winning by 40-odd so it was definitely worth it. Will face up to Big Sexy in the GF for the second year in a row. Got some unfinished business after last year…

But enough about me, in the unlikely event that you do have trades left, who are you considering bringing in this week?

  1. Last trade i went Heppel to Birchall to give an edge. Yeah i should have played Staker of the bench, Birch was playing a Gibbs-esque game of footy. Soft!
Won 3 out of 4 though so looking forward to next week!

  7. 2 trades left. In 5 grand finals. Am i crazy to contemplate to trade out ablett, bring in maybe montagna? Gaz clearly not right, seems to be labouring and clearly out of form. I know playing GWS, but he couldnt even get going against the lowly sainters. Looking to get rid an out of form player and bring in an in form one.

  8. 2 trades and $70, B Murphy and Griffen the concerns although think both should be right.

Am seriously considering trading out GAJ…hoping Heppell is back so Staker can be loopholed.

  9. One trade left, $55,700 and in 2 GF”s. Final trade will be, depending on the rest of my team getting a game, trade out Nicholls, swing Rowe from FWD to RUCK and buy a FWD (Stokes, Cloke or Ryder) or swing Bartel to FWD line and buy a MID (Cornes, Masten or S Thompson)
Will look at my opponents teams later in the week and base my decision on their team – but Scotty Thompson looks tempting after his last 2 weeks of 103 & 176, as does Stokes with 135,141.

  10. Hey guys.
Great job with the site this year, you’ve all been awesome and given me a lot of hints throughout the season
I’m into the granny in a cash league and wouldn’t mind a bit of expert opinion
    My team is
Backs. Goddard, Gibbs, Hanley, shaw, duffield, ibbostson, pittard and Heppell
Mids. Ablett, swan, pendlebury, j Kennedy, k jack, cotchin, selwood, priddis, t Mitchell, hunter
    Rucks. Minson, roughead, nicholls, currie
Forwards. Franklin, rockliff, Martin, Johnson, staker, j Kennedy, t lee, l mcbean.
I have 2 trades left and $166k in the bank.
Who should I get in? And should I leave 1 for a late withdrawal.
    Cheers guys

  11. one trade left.. thinking of ridding of JPK even though he plays well against hawks, if you guys could pick any midfielder under $525,000 who would you guys choose taking into account who their opponents are etc? help would be muchly appreciated thanks 😀

  12. One solitary trade left…

Fyfe being out takes out one of my premium mids, so:
I have around 300k so can basically pick up anybody, anywhere.

    T/U Fyfe > Griffen
T/D Fyfe > JPK/Jack or someone else (comment).

Alternatively comment if you think I should improve one of these lines instead:

Defense – Mckenzie (no playing bench players for potential loophole)
Forward – Ryder (also have Zorko on the bench who can be a potential loophole over someone)

If I elect to trade someone other then Fyfe I’d be taking Tom Mitchell’s score in the mids (could be a handy loophole option if I do trade out Fyfe).

    Cheers!
