Trades & Rolling Lockouts in 2014

Written by Motts on August 21 2013

Based on the feedback we got in the SC Suggestion Box last week I’m going to put some polls together over the next few weeks to see what the concensus is amongst the SCT experts.

Lets start with the number of trades next year:

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Second topic is the rolling lockouts. How do you feel about them?

  1. Less trades in my opinion, I thought this year that people’s teams were too similar and took out alot of the skill involved

  2. I have a suggestion regarding the trades to keep all happy. Leave them at 30 but drop the starting salary cap. This keeps the trade addicts satisfied and maintains the interest of the casual players for as long as possible, but also makes the game more difficult, it was too easy to get a full premium squad this year. In my leagues even the crap teams had full premium squads by finals time.

  3. i had a lot of injuries so don’t have a problem with 30 trades! extra trades give the casual player (and the trade-aholics) a chance to “play” the game and the hardcore SC guys can use them strategically. rolling lock out kinda does annoy me though- means instead of SC being five days a week then setting the team and enjoying the weekend it’s become a24/7 obsession…..

  4. The rolling lockouts have their pro’s and con’s. unfortunately they create a non-level playing field for those not able to check Supercoach, the ins/outs or participate in the VC loophole for whatever reason over the weekend.

  5. Lockouts keep you involved all weekend.

With the byes retained in the current format as part of the league keep the trades as is.

If the byes are non league games could shed say 4 trades.

  6. First time playing supercoach and loved it. Maybe make the vc worth x 1.5 points, same as captain 2 x.

  7. And also maybe there can be a formula eg a percentage of time played in a 2nd position to earn ddp. Would make it easier to figure out who qualifies.

  8. First year player but I don’t like all the loophole action, feels dirty. With the amount of injuries I copped this year particularly in the backline I’m glad there wasn’t fewer trades or I would have been in real trouble. I also made quite a few corrective trades early on when I figured out where I’d gone wrong with early selections. Looking to manage my trades better next year with an improved starting team.
