Two Polls

Written by Motts on March 25 2011

If you Vice Captained Mr Gibbs last night, what are you going to do with his 138? Keep it or give the captaincy to someone else who’s playing this round? If the latter, write in Comments who it is.

What to do with Patrick Cripps (CAR)?

And who do you think was the bigger disappointment last night? Yaz, who scored 32. Or Foley, who scored 25.

  1. Looking forward to the results on this one! Got Gibbs as capt at the moment but tempted to throw it to Swan with collingwood taking on port

  2. Yarran made me do this face most of the night >:(

Hardly saw him in the match, till he got moved up fwd in the last qtr where he got a kick or two. Now I’m not sure to give him one more week to prove his worth, or trade him out next week

  3. Only one game but very dissapointing from Yarran. Really wish I traded him out and kept Duncun from Geelong, who I guarantee will now go have a cracker!

  4. Need two out of Bewick/Irons/Libba

Had Bewick and Irons originally, but Libba seems a safer bet as he’s named on the field on ball and has had brilliant preseason scores (84,83,78). The other two are on the bench and could be sub material.

    Thinking Bewick & Libba.

Who’s going with who mid rookie wise?

  5. Yeah, he was sick all week apparently, unfair to place him in this poll i reckon. He was actually doing ok in the first quarter and got subbed off later in the match. Give him a break. Yarran on the other hand spudded it up, he couldn’t handle the tag by White all game.

  6. The biggest disappointment last night was Sarah Connors, being the sub costing you $416k and only scoring 30 points.

  7. Was debating giving the big C to Pendles, but have decided to stick with Gibbs’ score as VC. Only time will tell.

  8. If I’d captained Gibbs I’d stick to his score. Swan/Pendles could score 150 at best or could get heavily tagged or injured so there’s no point taking the risk. I’d take 138 from my captain any day of the week.

  9. If Foley was crook as some are now saying then he shouldn’t have been playing, particularly with only 3 interchange, simple as that. Once you take the field there are no excuses.
If I was the CEO/Board member I’d be taking Hardwick to task on the decision to make one if his best playmakers the Sub.
BTW I’m not a Tiger’s supporter and don’t have Connors, Yarren or Foley.

  10. I tend to agree Deano….. but like you said, that is Hardwick’s problem…. not Foley’s. Yarran = stinker!

  11. Whilst I enjoy your way of thinking, PA. You can not, under any circumstances compare Chris Yarran and Brent Hravey as footballers. It’s borderline to even mention them in the same sentence!

  12. Quick poll:
Last midfield rookie spot. Must choose between:
    1. Bewick $110,200
    2. Irons $91,700

Both are named on the interchange bench in their AFL teams for R1.
    Who would you pick?
Thumbs up for 1, down for 2.

  13. Happy with taking the punt on Trent Cotchin. Only early days but if you can score 116 with 4 touches in the first half, you must be going alright.

  14. Agreed, it was more making a point of not writing someone off for one bad game or it might bite you in the arse.

  15. All the more reason to consider Yarran in that poll… Foley started well I thought… good signs and a keeper for mine.

Waiting on Yarran… not every side will put a forward tag on him.

  16. Upon a bit of research, discovered Bewick is a mature aged recruit (gotta love ’em) and should get regular games now that Brennan and Rischetelli are gone.

  17. I chose Irons, but, it could’ve easily been Bewick. I am thinking of dropping Hibberd and bringing in either Bewick, or Atley. I tend to think that you’ll be ok whichever way you decide.

  18. After watching last night Brods I think ALL other coaches will employ a Fwd tag on Yarren after seeing it work so well. They would be negligent not to. The other consideration now for Ratts is that Yarren’s confidence will have taken a massive hit.
With all due respect on Foley you can’t seriously think that he will or was ever going to be a Mid keeper. At best he is a midprice cash cow.

  19. Agree with other coaches to put a fwd tag on Yarran. But still early days so we’ll see what happens.

On another note, when do players prices change? After rnd 2 or 3?

  20. Yeah lets update the poll to say that Hardwick is the other disappointment not Foley! I would have voted for Hardwick…thanks alot pal. Good to see he could even joke about it afterwards:

Despite the disappointment of an opening loss, Hardwick offered a joke when asked if the Tigers had any injury concerns.

“Just Nathan (Foley) with a burning backside, I think. Other than that, no,” Hardwick said.

  21. Tough.
I’d be saying Bewick or Irons because they play for awful teams and will get more game.
Probably Irons because of his price tag.

  23. So did I – and subbed Cotchin’s 100+ out to make room.
Tonight, just before the match i subbed Jimmy Bartel our for Selwood.

  24. I can forgive Yarran for this week because of that tag…
