Weekend Review – Saints v Dockers

by Motts on March 10, 2010

St Kilda
J Gram – I’m trying to choose between this guy and Fisher for my backline. With 130 pts, Gram has done his chances to harm at all.
N Dal Santo – Dal isn’t getting a lot of spots in the teams people have been sending in to be rated. With efforts like this 122 you have to ask why.
C Jones – 40 touches for 109 points but because he usually plays as a tagger you’d probably look past him.
S Gilbert – At $509k isn’t cheap but you’ll be happy if he keeps racking up the 100 pt games.
L Montagna – Was locked down by Ibbotson but still managed a 90. All class but as I’ve said before I reckon he’s overpriced.
S Fisher – 77 points after a week off and a 99 the week before that. Good but not great.

Fremantle
G Broughton – Finally gave a glimpse that last year’s form wasn’t a flash in the pan. 112.
P Duffield – A 96 gives him automatic entry into your consideration set for your backline.
M Barlow – NAB Cup scores of 69, 78 and 86. Handy.
A Silvagni – 54 points ain’t bad but keep an eye on the rookie elevations before settling on him.
A Morabito – Had a 51 including a supergoal.
A McPhee – Not bad with 58 but in my opinion he’s past his best.
M Pavlich – Well under what I expect of him with a 41. Especially on the back of a 70. Had me pressing the Remove button what other options were available for him.

Who have I missed that you like the look of?

Ballantyne a worry after a promising preseason – apparently had a knee arthroscopy. Refer http://www.fremantlefc.com.au/injury%20list/tabid/8737/default.aspx
Could be minor but is it worth the risk?

Prediction: ST KILDA to do a Hawthorn and finish season between 7 and 9

really? that’s a bit harsh. Didn’t Hawks have a bad year because of injury?

The other difference is that the Hawks won the flag. I don’t think there will be anything remotely resembling complacency down at Saintsville.

I’ve just seen that the Dockers chucked another two blokes on the LTI list. 5 rookie elevation spots now!
