What I’ve learnt…

Written by Motts on March 16 2015

What have you learned from this year’s preseason?

Have there been any players that came into your team as a result of outstanding games? Or conversely, any players that got dumped from your squad for shoddy performances?

  1. I learnt, in all my pre-season reading, the NEAFL is full of superstars who all rack up amazing stats and anyone coming from there will be an immediate gun.

Also, I’ve learnt not to read too much into hype articles on players.

  2. FREMANTLE tagger Ryan Crowley has tested positive to a banned substance under the AFL’s Anti-Doping Code.

The 31-year-old, who tested positive for a banned substance after Fremantle’s round 17 game against GWS last year, opted to accept a provisional suspension from September.

Accepting a provisional suspension is not an admission of guilt.

Crowley played in all the Dockers’ games after round 17, including their two finals.

Mystery has surrounded his absence from Fremantle’s NAB Challenge squads, with the club refusing to elaborate on the reasons for his non-selection for the two games to date.

Crowley is still able to train with the club during his provisional suspension.

Fremantle will hold a press conference from 3pm AEDT (12pm local time).

Great news for us supercoachers =]

  4. Have 10 on field players left from the eve of NAB 1 – not sure who is going to replace the other 12. Likes of Eski, Yeo, Greene, Cotch, A Swallow, Nicholls, Delideo & Walters gone with replacements pending performances in NAB 3.

  5. I have learnt that this is the toughest, and most interesting season of supcoach i will have played. Even amongst seasoned veterans, were likely to see radicaly different teams. Ive seen MJ’s and Eagle’s latest attempts, and they are radical. No knock on them however, its just the way this season is unfolding.
There is no must have defender. There is no micheal barlow type midfielder screaming pick me. And theres about ten mids between 450 and 550 that could ‘break out’
Im scared, but im liking it!
