I can’t think of any logical reason as to why it would be a positive in not having him since he has made his coaches nearly $500K. I would consider this well worth a trade as a cash cow which is why we all invested in him in the first place. He almost lasted as a keeper however I wouldn’t be crowing at all that it was a sound decision not having him.

As bit of a wild thought, I’m actually thinking of downgrading him to Stevens from WC – depending on his score tonight. Everyone else will be looking to do a straight trade which just uses a trade and this might give an outside edge. Come finals time you want to have as much cash on the park as possible so I don’t think its prudent to have players at 250k on the bench when it could be on the field. This frees up heaps of cash to upgrade elsewhere and then by finals can upgrade this midfield position. Not sure, just a thought. I’m still pondering . . .

I’m thinking Stevens is gunna struggle to score well tonight from Perth as the game’s in Melbourne although if the first Quarter is any indication, he’s gunna have plenty of mates at or around the donut.

Why? Ur still in the same position as everyone else (used a trade to get out barlow and prob another to afford judd) yet everbody else has made a heap more cash off barlow than you did. And Judd’s not as good as he is talked up to be. I bit overhyped IMO. Watch his avg start to decline as the season wears on. Came out firing after his 3 match suspension at the start of the year, and understandable because he needed to make up for that dog act in eye gouging.

Swan. In good form. Also when finals comes (R19-22), all of Collingwood’s games are at the MCG where Swan is particulary good. But Judd rarely gets below 100, so you really can’t go wrong.

I feel bad for Barlow, he must be absolutely gutted. I was listening on the radio as it happened and it all seemed so innocuous.
I am/was/am very happy with my on-field mid’s and wasn’t planning on changing anyone.

How does having Chapman and Goddard in other lines make your midfield better? And what do Brownlow medals have to do with it? Surely the sole indicator of the best SC midfield is the players’ averages, in which case Ethan’s is better.
For the record . . . going on averages, the best midfield combo would be GAJ, Goddard, Chappy, Hodge, Judd and Swan.

conversly their worst would have netted 445

I think i’ll be going with a barlow > montagna trade, other options i would consider would be pendles, cross, selwood, priddis, gibbs, murphy, boyd or watson. If i go with montagna mids will be GAJ, Swan, Montagna, Goddard, NDS and Judd.

Just a final word on Barlow . . . He managed to increase in value for 10 straight rounds which shows remarkable consistency and (dare I say it) durability. Consider too that his first price rise after R3 was a staggering $119,900.
Rockliff might take the mantle however. After a more conservative start to his season, he’s on a streak of 9 with a B/E of 87 this week against the Sainters.

Its got to be Ablett. Perfect timing really. What I dont understand is all the people that chose Ablett for $744,200 at the start of the year. I’m sorry but you people are all stupid and have no supercoach smarts. He was WAY too expensive. He’s now $130,000 cheaper. You never go for the most expensive player in each position as they are bound to come down in price during the season with a form slump or injury. The only player at the top of the price list that i chose was goddard. Bit of a gamble but a educated gamble as I knew goddard was a gun that hadn’t reached his max potential. Haven’t got 3 supercoach titles to my name by just getting lucky.

And yes i was only talking about league but won all 3 last year (one was in the top 1000) and made gf in only league the year before. But it was obvious that GAJ would come down significantly in price and therefore represent little value in SC terms. Unless your going for the overall, which i personally think is a bit pointless.

if i had to pick out of the two i’d say dawes as i’m a collingwood supporter but if ur looking to make some $$$ from buying a cheap player just to leave on ur fwd line bench then i would suggest robbie tarrant from north. Is named this week but keep an eye on him. Is listed as a forward but will play back and could rack up some possies. Both Dawes and Porplyzia are mark up forward targets and can score big but can also score quite low. Better off going the cheaper option of a rookie because its only for ur bench and you make more cash to upgrade later.
