        1. Time for me to bring in the little master at the bargain basement price of $200 000 instead of $740 000.

          1. Nah – Wesley in Perth so unfamiliar with the Salle’s however I’m sure the Vic members are having a chuckle.
            (Did Motts go there?)

          2. Motts don’t think so but there are a few other AFL players that did eg Carrazzo. Bit pissed about Barlow only b/c I had $10 on him at $81/1 to win the Chas.

  1. Probably Ablett. but there are lots of cheaper options like Cross, NDS and Hayes. Can someone please explain to me wats happened to Pav??? hes done nothin over the last few weeks 🙁

    1. Wish I knew. But there’s no way you can trade him. He’s a premium and could turn it around any given week.

  2. Tossing up between Judd and Swan, leaning towards Judd as he seems to have immunity from the tribunal.

To help people’s calculations, Barlow’s likely to drop in price slightly to just below $570,000.

          1. I can’t think of any logical reason as to why it would be a positive in not having him since he has made his coaches nearly $500K. I would consider this well worth a trade as a cash cow which is why we all invested in him in the first place. He almost lasted as a keeper however I wouldn’t be crowing at all that it was a sound decision not having him.
I’m assuming you’re tasking the piss out of Ducky Motts.

          2. Yes mate I am. Played him last week and got stuck into him in Psyche Out as well:
“Posted by Mottsy’s Maulers, Mon 21st Jun 8:16am
            (Coach: Motts)
Couldn’t fit Barlow into your star-studded midfield, Duck?”

  3. As bit of a wild thought, I’m actually thinking of downgrading him to Stevens from WC – depending on his score tonight. Everyone else will be looking to do a straight trade which just uses a trade and this might give an outside edge. Come finals time you want to have as much cash on the park as possible so I don’t think its prudent to have players at 250k on the bench when it could be on the field. This frees up heaps of cash to upgrade elsewhere and then by finals can upgrade this midfield position. Not sure, just a thought. I’m still pondering . . .

    1. I’m thinking Stevens is gunna struggle to score well tonight from Perth as the game’s in Melbourne although if the first Quarter is any indication, he’s gunna have plenty of mates at or around the donut.
On a positive, he’s likely to get a look in next week.

  4. Gee I only have 3 trades left, it’sd my first year doing SuperCoach, I have $100,000 in the bank so I will go barlow out Yabaleette in.

  5. Not sure, I will have to have a good think about it cos i already have most of the good mids,
    like
Gaj, J. Selwood, Juddy, Gibbsy, Pendlebury.
and goddard and hodge in defence
    and pav up forward
Who else is a superstar that i could pick up?

  6. Hahaha I’m loving it. Traded out barlow 7 weeks ago to upgrade to Judd. Been regretting it ever since. Now am loving my upgrade!!!

    1. Why? Ur still in the same position as everyone else (used a trade to get out barlow and prob another to afford judd) yet everbody else has made a heap more cash off barlow than you did. And Judd’s not as good as he is talked up to be. I bit overhyped IMO. Watch his avg start to decline as the season wears on. Came out firing after his 3 match suspension at the start of the year, and understandable because he needed to make up for that dog act in eye gouging.

  7. Geez this is a pivotal point of the season heading into the finals- everyone who has him has many options to choose from, and will provide a massive point of difference come finals time….I was going to trade him anyway, and now i have an excuse to. I’m thinking Pavlich, but will have to weigh up my options….will only have a few trades left…

  8. I’ve just had a thought. As EVERYONE has Barlow, if we all agree to keep him on the field and cop a doughnut, we don’t all have to burn a trade on him.

    Who’s in??

    1. Lateral brilliance!
I think the challenge though will be in the trade target as this will be the point of difference.
Am I correct in assuming you are low on trades Kanga?

  9. Will pick up Pendles or Joey (depending on his result in tomorrow’s match, his b/e is 160, so hoping he’ll drop a bit).

    0

    0
    1. Swan. In good form. Also when finals comes (R19-22), all of Collingwood’s games are at the MCG where Swan is particulary good. But Judd rarely gets below 100, so you really can’t go wrong.

  10. I feel bad for Barlow, he must be absolutely gutted. I was listening on the radio as it happened and it all seemed so innocuous.
I am/was/am very happy with my on-field mid’s and wasn’t planning on changing anyone.
    Jesus/Swan/NDS/Judd/Penders/Barlow…..Rohan/JKT
I have 158k in reserve so can get anyone…Joey/Chappy/Boyd/Hayes seem logical choices without the benefit of research.
I am in more strife in DT where I have Jizzberts & Stevenson on my bench and no trades left. I suspect that I’ll struggle to stay in the Eliminator after this week -assuming that I win- and can’t see myself improving on my present 622nd position overall.

  11. I’m not sure who i am going to get…will have to choose very carefully considering my trade situation… i need a Mid/Fwd player, maybe Pavlich or didak, im also wanting to get rid of martin for a Mid/Def player…maybe Kelly…will have to weigh up my options…

    0

  12. i ahve gary ablett, dane swan, joel selwood, lindsay gilbee, Dustin Martin and barlow who is injured. is judd best option for barlow?

    0

  13. $340k spare from a trade last week, so Trengove > Goddard, Barlow > Montagna. I like the sound of a midfield featuring Ablett, Dal Santo, Goddard, Montagna, Judd and Chapman 😀

    0

    0
          1. How does having Chapman and Goddard in other lines make your midfield better? And what do Brownlow medals have to do with it? Surely the sole indicator of the best SC midfield is the players’ averages, in which case Ethan’s is better.

For the record . . . going on averages, the best midfield combo would be GAJ, Goddard, Chappy, Hodge, Judd and Swan.

            0

            0
          2. seems pointless to take the best back/s and the best fwd and put them in the midfield
all be it subjective i think my midfield of GAJ Montagna Gibbs Swan Bartel Hayes is the best

            0

            0
          3. Absolutely right, pump, it would be pointless. But I never said the best midfield would make for the best team.

            0

            0
          4. Fair enuff
Interestingly i added the top scores of my mids 202 159 192 173 160 167 so if they could have all fired on the same day your looking at 1053 pts
conversly their worst would have netted 445
Run the rule over that and tell me my midfields not the best…

            0

            0
  14. Gunna cash Balow in. Have Martin on the bench who will provide adequate cover and trade up in fwds and def. Will give a more even team. Bad luck for Barlow though. May not play next year as well and in doubt beyond that. All the best Mick!

  16. I think i’ll be going with a barlow > montagna trade, other options i would consider would be pendles, cross, selwood, priddis, gibbs, murphy, boyd or watson. If i go with montagna mids will be GAJ, Swan, Montagna, Goddard, NDS and Judd.
Also would anyone have any ideas of a forward replacement for
Ziebell($295,000) i currently have $168,500 in the bank which gives me $463,500 to work with.

Any help or suggestions much appreciated

  17. Who do people think is the best midfielder under/around 500k?? thinking of saving some $$$ on this trade to then be able to upgrade someone like B Waters to a premium.

Mitchell? K Simpson? Watson? Sewell?? He was such a gun in my team last year – not at his best currently but i think is getting better and better. Could be a good smokey that no one else will have??

    1. Watson. Shouldn’t your team be ready to go for finals? Why would it still need work? Just a question.

    Barlow> Selwood/Cross/Pendles/?????

I’ve already got ABLETT, MONTAGNA, DAL, JUDD, SWAN.

  19. Haha, possibly but it never hurts to ask!

I’d like Hayes, but having 3 Saints in the middle scares me!

Boyd over Cross? Hmmm, I’ve got some thinking to do! Cheers!

  20. Who should I trade Michael Barlow for in Supercoach?

    Leigh Montagna
    Nick Dal Santo
    Kade Simpson
    Bryce Gibbs
    Scott Pendlebury

    0
  21. Just a final word on Barlow . . . He managed to increase in value for 10 straight rounds which shows remarkable consistency and (dare I say it) durability. Consider too that his first price rise after R3 was a staggering $119,900.

Rockliff might take the mantle however. After a more conservative start to his season, he’s on a streak of 9 with a B/E of 87 this week against the Sainters.

  22. Its got to be Ablett. Perfect timing really. What I dont understand is all the people that chose Ablett for $744,200 at the start of the year. I’m sorry but you people are all stupid and have no supercoach smarts. He was WAY too expensive. He’s now $130,000 cheaper. You never go for the most expensive player in each position as they are bound to come down in price during the season with a form slump or injury. The only player at the top of the price list that i chose was goddard. Bit of a gamble but a educated gamble as I knew goddard was a gun that hadn’t reached his max potential. Haven’t got 3 supercoach titles to my name by just getting lucky.

    1. Im happy with ablett from the start. I havnt needed to worry about who to make captain once. But what would i know, I dont have any supercoach titles to my name

  23. Bender is a complete snuff. Ooohh 3 “titles” wow!! Winning a league with your mates aren’t exactly prestigious titles!

I’ve had Ablett since the start. First picked. I’m currently 99th overall, not too bad I’d say.

  24. Calm down, calm down. Sheesh!

Sorry but i was in a very bad mood that day and just had to let that off my chest. And yes i was only talking about league but won all 3 last year (one was in the top 1000) and made gf in only league the year before. But it was obvious that GAJ would come down significantly in price and therefore represent little value in SC terms. Unless your going for the overall, which i personally think is a bit pointless.

  25. if i had to pick out of the two i’d say dawes as i’m a collingwood supporter but if ur looking to make some $$$ from buying a cheap player just to leave on ur fwd line bench then i would suggest robbie tarrant from north. Is named this week but keep an eye on him. Is listed as a forward but will play back and could rack up some possies. Both Dawes and Porplyzia are mark up forward targets and can score big but can also score quite low. Better off going the cheaper option of a rookie because its only for ur bench and you make more cash to upgrade later.
