Who’s Due For a Breakout in 2011

Pretty comprehensive list I’ve put together here. Pick as many as you like.

Is it worth trading in Stefan Martin again?

  1. I’d argue that Kieran Jack had his break out year last year.

Nearly the whole of that list will improve on their 2010 (and earlier) efforts.

As for a breakout year, it’d be Cotchin for me. Like 400 other AFL footballers he is ‘training the house down’, whatever that means and ‘had a full pre-season under his belt’.

  2. I am on the Xavier Ellis wagon. He is entering his 5th or 6th season and should play mainly through the midfield this year. He averaged 80 last year and played 22 games. An average of 100 is well within reach and well priced at $360k

  3. Was considering many on that list, but ended up going only with Otten and Varcoe ( though that could definitely change!). I know that many of these players will take the step up to a 90+ point average, but I have no idea which ones…

Also picked Sylvia, though again, might change that ’cause I think he’s more of a DT player.

  4. I might be a bit bias but brad sheppard is named as a mid/ and running defender this year and might be a big improver in his second year ,,,, has a nice kick on him.

  5. Jon Ralph (RalphyHeraldSun):
Stinking luck for Cale Morton. Out for 8 with a finger injury after knee injury at similar time next year. He’s ripped too and was ready

  6. McKinley kicked 6 in North’s intra club tonight. Probably not going to have breakout season that nets him 100pt games but gee whiz .. 6 goals is 6 goals is 6 goals.

  7. Otten a no brainer, Sheppard has showed form in nab cup and is at a reasonable price, Dan Harris is Captain Obvious, Josh Fraser a bargain pick up, Drew Petrie for sure and a risk for Andrew Krakour a risk but worth taking.
