JB and Davis back, suddenly I have a full strength team again apart from Barry hall
Does anyone know what Simon Black has done to his ankle?
Corey was named twice for the Cats… I believe Simon Hogan should be on the bench.
My team has finally came together. Warnock perhaps playing again, JB, Maguire, Fyfe, Gumbleton, Smith keeps his spot with Hurn back. It’s starting to look alot better.
Hopefully Blair will be included for the next few weeks as well. Anyone know which players could replace him later?
Advice required!!
Browny’s back after a month out but does he walk straight into my team??
FWDS are Pavlich, Harvey, Didak, Goodes, Podsiadly, Franklin, Rockliff [Brown, Davis].
Pavlich, Harvey, Didak and Goodes could all move into the MIDS but there’s no room in my loaded midfield. Rockliff is the obvious candidate but he’s scored 3 100’s in the last 5 games. Then there’s JPod too since it’s not at the Cattery. Brown may start slowly too. Don’t have a fit midfield emergency but surely Pavlich, Harvey, Didak and Goodes are too good to bench. Weird dilemma, good dilemma, dilemma none-the-less.
Assistance would be muchly appreciated.
Trade him in for cash
Franklin is a chance to miss so name him as an emergency.
He plays probably for Pods or Rocky, I refer you to the post by Mike (I think) earlier in the afternoon in ‘Whose taking Charlie’ stream, you’ll notice that JB features twice in the top 10 scores of all time so his ability to score big and the Hawks somewhat shaky defence against big men means he’ll be ready to prove himself with a captains performance.
I would leave it as is – leave JB on the bench as an emergency in case Buddy pulls out. Seems the least risky thing to do. Not a bad dilemma though, as you say.
Don’t trade him this week. Hold and assess his value. If he is fit, he will prob score 80+, and is capable of a 150. You’ll be spewing if you trade him and he does that. If he is still half fit and struggling, you can trade him for Roo in a week or two, providing you have trades, cash of course.
As for selection I would make him, or Rocky emergency, jPOD as third option. If Buddy misses, then the emergo will play anyway.
Esky gilbee lake Gilbert hodge goddard enright my backline is complete!
that is amazing
Porplyzia out??? Why Craigy why??
needed in the us to test the water. to see how much oil is still their
that’s very good, dunx.
someone has to come into my team for hall, should it be Jack Watts or Robbie Tarrant ???????????
Flip a coin
Oh man! Will Franklin play??? Will Brown definitely play???
Do I put Rockliff on the bench? Franklin? Keep Brown on the bench??? Jesus!
Deano, mate, what’s the good oil with Waters? Will he play? Will he be fit enough to score well if he does? And what about Stevenson? Do you think Woosha will stick with him for the rest of the year?
Cheers mate.
His value to the team off field means that even if he’s a remote chance, he’ll fly. You’d think 4 hrs sitting on an inflamed muscle with a history of back related referred pain is not the best preparation so I don’t think he’ll play. The downside to him doing more damage with the number of senior players currently out and consequently adversely impacting on youth/experience balance far outweighs the upside of him playing.
Stevenson, Smith, Strijk, Stevens will get plenty of opportunity to show Woosha not so much their talent but their ability to apply a consistent work ethic, particularly in challenging circumstances.
So that’s where 4s get his/her name from, Stevenson, Smith, Strijk and Stevens.
I must admit when I was writing it the alliteration was appealing however I never thought of 4s so well picked up champ.
Cheers mate 🙂
who do you reckon should start: Henderson or Waters?
Ricky Henderson is in fine form, but against the mighty cats.
Beau Waters is a good player, but coming off a corky.
Shaun higgins at $310,000 looks very tempting
Brake likely to be rested with slight gastric/flu problem? Any word on your love child PA?
The flu is going round, I’ve picked it up on the weekend so just like Goddard make sure you have coverage, but I haven’t heard nothing mainly because I’ve been in bed all week with it.
Maybe you passed it on to the boys at last weekend’s celebrations of the shellacking of Mottsy’s pretenders.
Nah, didn’t go last week but Bazza did have it so that’s maybe where Lakey has got it from. Just heard on TFS brake didn’t train today, after a 4 hour flight and with he’s bad hip always locking up while on a plane, I think he’ll be fine, just resting up for another big one.
Does anyone know how bad Simon Black’s ankle is? How long he will be out for?
Sewell dropped?? I know he has been a little down on form but still think he is a gun…
Agreed, hasnt had the best season but still makes there best 22 by a mile
PORT ADELAIDE midfielder Travis Boak has been ruled out of the club’s clash with the Western Bulldogs in Darwin on Saturday night, paving the way for ex-Brisbane Lions onballer Scott Harding to play his first game for the team since round one.
Lance Franklin will miss Hawthorn’s clash with the Brisbane Lions in Launceston
Not looking too good for Brake if this theme continues. Hard to see Rocket risking him against the high flying Power up there.
Time well tell, just like Waters, Big D.
Its that time of the season when cotton wool plays a big part in selection decisions.
Wished I’d had more trades up my sleeve, but still have bench coverage in J.Hunt and Waters. Who should I put the E on, Hunt plays tonight while Waters is in doubt.
Motts has thrown a lazy $10 at the Power this week on the basis of:
No Barry Hall
Possibly no Brake
First up game for i-Primus
Motts has also thrown a blue swimmer at the Lions this week on the basis of:
No Franklin
J-Brown back in
No team this year has won the week after playing Geelong
Brisbane beat them at Aurora last year by 7 goals.
That’s all I’m going to say about that.
Definately Hunt for mine PA and who is i-Primus Motts – I thought his name was Mathew?
I thought Brake’s surname began with an L?
SSSHHH….the bait’s still in the water.
He’s the full-back, a stopper that’s my nickname for him. As for your bets you’re better off getting a lotto ticket.
Have you backed them at the line or straight out?
BTW Motts, checked the outcome of The Age poll last week and looks like a pretty good demographic for singles dating advertising – maybe you should consider bringing some on to supplement your costs.
Straight out. But I may have also included them in a multi (that’s paying $26!) at the line.
Thanks for the dating advertising tip. I reckon we’ll struggle for space with all the sports betting advertising we’re bringing on 😉
On another note, it appears as though we’ve reached an agreement with a certain Victorian newspaper. Watch this space…..
I am thinking that the Power is a nice bet, what odds did you get? I also think a Power/Lions double might need a blue swimmer thrown @ it.
Lance is out!
$5 for Port, $3.70 for the Lions. And I threw $2 at a Tigers Roos draw @ $67.
Here’s the multi:
Adelaide v Geelong – Geelong
Hawthorn v Brisbane – Brisbane – Win – Line (+22.5)
Essendon v West Coast – Essendon – Win – Line (-16.5)
Bulldogs v Port Adelaide – Port Adelaide – Win – Line (Ev) (+30.5)
Carlton v Sydney – Carlton – Win – Margin (1-39)
Fremantle v Melbourne – Fremantle – Win – Head To Head
What odds did you get for that multi?
$26.48
Not bad, don’t really understand the line bets much, so if the dogs win by 30 or less , you”ll win that leg?
RE the line bets. Either Port wins or loses by less than 31 and I’ll win that leg. The +30.5 basically means you add 30.5 points to their score.
I loved watching Caaarlton play last week and would like to see them put in that level of application every week. 😉 I think Sydney will win, but like the rest of your multi.
A tiges/roos draw is an intriguing proposition….$67 huh? I’m tipping the Roo boys, but think it’ll be a close one.
they drew in the corresponding game last year – hopefully lightning strikes twice.
I wonder what the odds would be on two teams drawing with each other in consecutive matches.
67/1
No, that’s the odds for the second draw after the first draw has already occured.
It should be $67 x $67 = $4,489 / 1
Yeah, but they drew last year so this is the second game and the odds of the draw are 67/1, so if they draw again it will be consecutive matches and the odds will still be 67/1.
Each contest is independant of the last and next…..PA is right on the money.
Apologies HGLBCO, I didn’t read your post properly. Motts is correct in this context – it would be like any other multi.
My interpretation of HGLBCO was asking was what would be the odds of two teams drawing the next two matches they play. In that case the answer would be 4,489/1.
Motts is subtly ignoring all references to Carlton’s performance last Sunday.
I’m not saying a word, he he.
Your saying everything.
Marcus Davies as a SC pickup next year. Thoughts?
Depends how many games he gets this year and how he looks going about it.
Ablett in doubt for tonight’s game, that’s the latest rumour doing the rounds.
At least we’ll know before lockout.
really? I thought they keep that under wraps until final teamsheets are released about 1 hour before game time.
*could keep that under wraps
That would be one hour before lockout.
so it is … my bad?
True, but how many SC teams will be decimated this week, if it’s true.
Depends on your bench coverage in the mids and whether your opponents have him/Captaincy.
Put it this way, if it happens I’ll be kicking myself even harder than after last week after not following my reasoning all year and choosing Joey.
No use crying over spilt milk though.
I had just decided to not trade this week when I heard this news, now, I am reconsidering.
Anybody else hearing the Jesus wont play tonight rumour? Apparently the emergencies travelled to Adelaide.
SEN crap doing the rounds – it is Friday arvo. At this time of the year all clubs take at least two emergencies.
Hawks flew all three down to Tassie today as well and there’s credible talk Sewell will be a late inclusion for Mitchell.
Well SEN does talk a LOT of crap inbetween ALL THOSE FREAKIN ADS.
That said, I like Finey when he isn’t giving me the shiiittes and Friday night pregame coverage with Dermie & LLyoddie giving it to Huddo is pure gold. Malthouse occasionally appears and HGL’BCO loves to hear the wiseman speak.
The run home has it’s moments too.
How is the wise man going over there these days? Still reminiscing about ’92 and ’94?
No, Mickie doesn’t reminisce much, or talk about the Pies much -except for Licka- who gets an occasional mention.
Terry Wallace is good to listen to for similar reason’s to Mick.
