With Captain Kirk likely to go to GAJ, is that going to sway people to move the captaincy somewhere else?

Who should we start on-field in MID? (two choices)

  1. Don’t abandon Jesus, if you have him, make him captain. The biggest threat is bomber not picking him, so have a suitable vice-captain and adequate midfield bench support.

  2. This is like a couple of weeks ago against Carlton when Joseph was meant to keep him to 80 odd points and he racked up 170! If he plays he’s my captain and I’ll cop the odd bad week cos they’re few and far between.

    1. i guess it was a gamble buying him. he has dropped in price and needs to score an epic amount of points each week just to maintain his price.

also, he is unlikely to play more than 18-19 games. remember he may have the highest average, but not necessarily the highest points total for the year. some people can’t afford the weeks where he doesn’t play.

i don’t believe he was that injured last week, he was simply rested.

  3. No GAJ and I’ll probably get lambasted from pillar to post but I’m putting the acid on Goodwin to do exactly that this week.
    – Vs Tigers
    – at AAMI
    – Crows must win
    – can’t see Tiges doing an effective tag
    – not much competition for 3300 pts
Did I mention they play Richmond? (’nuff said!)

    1. Goodwin has a break even of 154 this week… Not impossible but he’s about fourth in line for me after GAJ, Pav and Goddard

      1. Do you think Bomber is resting him a bit more than usual to piss him off because he hasn’t resigned?

  4. Defender Alex Silvagni did not fly from Perth with the team, Doesn’t Say if UOS is playing or not, wait til tonight ppl.

    1. BUGGER. Farmer on an extended bench, Goose gone and now this potential. I might have to bring Hargeave or Chaplin in at 5.00.

  5. Had to chunk this in, coz it’s funny as.

SOCCER player booked by a hardline referee for diving had in fact died of a heart attack.

Goran Tunjic, a 32-year-old defender playing for Croatian side Mladost, collapsed and fell to the ground after being tackled in the 35th minute of a game against local rivals Hrvatski Sokola.

The no-nonsense referee, who had warned the teams in their dressing rooms before kick-off that he would deal firmly with any play-acting, promptly strode across the pitch to the prone player and waved a yellow card at him.

        1. Silvagni wasn’t on the plane that went to Brisbane today. He may, or may not be playing.
Also, Varcoe is on an extended bench and may miss out, if he misses out and Rioli is a late withdrawal -or someone else- you get a doughnut.

  7. worth trading?
    Seaby > Cox
    Bastinac > Howlett

Mids are: Barlow, Selwood, Pendlebury, Gibbs, Judd, Martin
Bastinac, Banner (Can’t make Port’s best 22 at the moment)

    Rucks: Hille, Seaby
    Warnock, Trengove

  8. Oh, and is it worth making a trade to get Howlett in this week, or will there be another decent midfield rookie expected to be debuting and holding their spot soon?

        1. Harvey was holding his own cards close to his chest, though, reluctantly admitting defender Alex Silvagni (ankle) would not play.

  9. I’m going for Chapman he seems to be in good touch the past few weeks:
    =165, 110, 140.

Decided not to do the trade for fyfe it seems a bit risky. Could he get dropped?

  12. who’s price will rise more in the next 2-4 weeks?
    mattner
    s selwood
as im looking to upgrade one of these to to a preimum eg duffield/enright
who would be the best 7th defender?

    1. mattner is better than selwood, he had a season average of 98 back in 2008 and 84 in 2009… selwood is rather unproven yet with season averages of 50 in 2008 and 59 in 2009.
