Newbies

Logue was taken at pick 8 in the 2016 draft and played half of the senior games in his debut year. He struggled to stay on the park in 2018 and with the injury to Alex Pearce this season has opened the door for his return. SuperCoach expectations were low after a 43 point average in 2017 however he impressed with 24 disposals (13 kicks), 10 contested possessions, 8 mark, 3 tackle, 4 1%ers and a 93 SuperCoach point game. He was bought in as a KPP player but he loves to attack the contest and go on the rebound. If he can stay fit, the role is his for the rest of the year.

Stein is about as athletic as they come being a former Commonwealth Games decathlete and made his AFL debut on the weekend. He didn’t see a lot of the pill, registering just the 9 disposals but provided great defensive pressure laying 8 tackles and putting in 8 1% efforts to finish on 76 points.

Goodbye for now: Cumming, Young and Burgess have very little to offer coaches moving forward.

Studs

Stack continues to impress notching up his second SuperCoach tonne scoring 103 in a lost to the Crows. Collecting 22 disposals (12 kicks) at 82% DE he finished with 6 marks (1 contested), 4 tackles, 3 1%ers but unfortunately missed two shots on goal which would have been a tidy finish to his night out but he learnt a bit of Eddie Betts trademark gamestyle and thanked him after a goal, much to the presses displeasure. Has the bye this week and can be moved on if you need warm bodies otherwise can be kept around if you want a but more cash.

Duds

Walsh has been SO good, but his worst effort for the season came this week against the Dogs in which was a pretty hard day for the Carlton midfielders. He saw plenty of the ball and managed 22 disposals but an uncharacteristic 2 contested possessions combined with a DE of 68% and 5 clangers held him to 50 points.

Newbies

Clarke retained his spot after the complete shutdown on Cripps prior to the bye. He finished with 23 disposals (6 kicks) with an impressive 83% DE given he had an equal team second high 12 contested possessions to go with 3 tackles, a couple of 1%ers and 76 points. On the bubble this week and still has questionable long term job security but if he plays, he’ll score and will be a popular trade in target this week.

Goodbye for now: Walsh and Stack have both been great cash cows and with the bye this week, it presents a perfect opportunity to bolster your midfield. Scott probably doesn’t exist anymore and Stocker is expected to spend another 3-4 weeks on the sidelines and with their bye this weekend, hold no more use and can be thrown away for a few pennies.

Stud

I remember reading a comment on the website when O’Brien was on the bubble that stated the season will be defined between those who picked O’Brien and those who didn’t. After a monstrous 181 on the weekend I think it’s safe to say there are 3 categories with the owners being split between those who upgraded him when he appeared to have peaked in price, and those who were holding on to hopefully have Gawn/Grundy covered during Rd13. Well, it’s safe to say that person was right and those who were patient were well rewarded. Up against the ruckless Tigers he amassed 54 hitouts to go with 19 disposals (9 kicks) at 90% DE to go with 10 contested possessions, 5 marks (1 contested), 7 tackles and 4 1%ers. With his last 101 and 181 in his price cycle, his BE has plummeted back into the negatives and if you have him, I’d be inclined to keep milking him unless you HAD to move him on to bring in extra premiums for this week.

Goodbye for now: Coleman-Jones

Newbies

Jun 13, 2019 1:12PM, the day and time that Chol was named as a late replacement in the Tigers squad and sent the BigFooty SuperCoach forum into meltdown.  Playing his first game since his 2016 Rd23 debut of 10 SuperCoach points he went in as number 1 ruck against O’Brien. Beaten heavily, he still finished with 8 disposals (6 kicks) at 75% DE, 6 contested possessions, 2 marks, 13 hitouts, 2 tackles, 6 1%ers to go with his first senior goal to finish on 59 points.

Goodbye for now: Larkey has peaked with the bye this week and bleeding 6k against the Giants. Corbett  was dropped after a stellar 10 point game and will lose plenty if given another game and Young can’t offer us much more either if 50 is his ceiling.

    1. Lol … that’s the only game he’ll get this year. Soldo missed because of illness not injury and Nank will be back soon.

  1. De Boer out for 8 weeks. SURELY Hately now gets a spell of games? If named this week, is he a must have?

    1. Will not be named this week but is a possibility next week. If so then I think he is a must have due to his low breakeven and scoring ability.

      1. It makes a lot of sense team structure wise. Mick Malthouse was critical of GWS using two taggers against North. I can see Leon Cameron learning from his mistake and using Kennedy as the sole tagger (with De Boar out) and Hately as a more attacking, ball winning mid.

I’m very wary of Clarke from Essendon for the same reason, Woosha isn’t so keen team structure wise of having Clarke in (As a tagger at least). Clarke’s numbers look amazing but if the coach doesn’t want to play him.

Obviously if he gets named that all goes out the window.
