Before the Bounce – R12

Written by Motts on June 19 2015

Ok so with a Thursday night game, technically the ball has already been bounced. But that doesn’t mean you still can’t ask questions, give us rumours, tell us about your weekend, or just post links to funny stuff like these interview tips

Let ‘er rip!

  1. It’s upgrade round. Brought in Sloane last night and i’m going to do another midfield upgrade but i’m only interested in someone who had the bye last week. Narrowed it down to a trio of Tigers with $594,400 in the kitty.

    B Ellis, Martin, Cotch.

They all have their pros and cons but leaning towards B Ellis or Martin. Cotch has burned me a bit in the past.

    Thumbs Up – Dusty Martin
    Thumbs Down – Brandon Ellis
Comment – Get Cotch instead, someone else i’ve missed, alternate strategy, keep Daniel Rich instead of trading, etc…

  2. Andrew Phillips also ruled out for the Giants, leaving Rory Lobb as their lone ruckman.
Should I consider not using the loophole and just put the C on Goldstein?

  3. thoughts on trading one of oxley/newnes for simpson? leaning toward trading oxley despite his low BE as he will need to be upgraded at some point and newnes ‘might’ be a keeper. only fielding 16 so need to trade.

    t/u trade oxley
    t/d trade newnes

  4. I hovered over my Defenders last night and noticed two guys that I have question marks over coming into their Byes for this week. Ibbotson and Newnes. They worth holding this week, or does one of them have to go? Would they be players alright to have leading up into the Finals?

Could you argue community that trading one of them ahead of Saad isn’t the worst move? Because one of them (Ibbotson, Newnes, Saad) will make way for a Defensive upgrade this week. Plus, Saad’s Standard Deviation has been a real positive this season, whilst compared to someone like Ibbotson, he’s been really up and down and his SD is much higher.

T/U – Trade one of them before Saad
T/D – They’ve been good enough, trade out Saad

  5. And second question (sure this was asked multiple times already):

    T/U – Take Hodge’s 122 as VC
T/D – Risk it on Goldstein as C

I’m probably more inclined to take the 122 at this stage, an extra 10-20 points doesn’t look worth it.
