Breaking Even Rd15

Written by Schwarzwalder on June 24 2019

A popular feature at SCT, we’ve shortlisted the most SC-relevant players for you as a handy guide (mainly those owned by 3% of teams or more, with a few exceptions).

For the Supercoach newbies out there, the Breakeven is the score needed by each player to hold his price.  If they score above that Breakeven value, their $$ value will rise.  If they score below that Breakeven point, they will lose value.  Sorry if I’ve overlooked something.  Be sure to let me know in the Comments below and I’ll update it as soon as I can.  If you have any questions about Breakevens, don’t hesitate to ask in the Forum and I’m sure our friendly SCT Community will help out.

  1. What to do with Hore and Duursma?!?

T/U: Hore to Ryan (D5), Duursma to Logue (D6) – leaves me with setterfield at F7 and Naish at D7

T/D: Duursma to Ryan (D5), hold Hore at D6, Setterfield to Logue (via Gardner Dpp switch) – That leaves with me Logue at D7 but Young and Gardner at F7 and F8 :/

  2. Should I jump onto Tom Stewart now as my last defensive upgrade?
Or wait a week or two for Hurn or Whitfield?
    Thanks!

    1. Are all other lines complete, CDawg? If so, then wait for Hurn/Whitfield. If you’ve still got upgrades to do, go ahead and pick Stewart up.

      1. I’ve still got one other upgrade left for my mids too. Currently playing Clarke/Bewley at M8.
        Thanks mate!

  3. Have replaced Duursma with Logue. 10 trades left and just one more premium to complete my team, but the only obvious player to sell is Setterfield, but his BE is only 29.

TU: sell Setterfield, gives me $541,400. Bring in Sloane.
TD: wait for a better upgrade target to become available at a similar price, and for Setterfield to fatten up further.
Comment: alternative upgrade of a similar price to Sloane

      2. Bit like the chicken and the egg though. Now he is cheap you wouldn’t want to bring him in considering his low scoring and role.

  4. Logue looks a gem for D7. Tossing up between Hind and Cameron on the midfield bench – feel Hind has the JS, but Cameron opens up the DPP swing with the forward line.

Lloyd, Laird, Williams, Smith, Hore, Moore (Logue, Gardner)
Cripps, Macrae, Neale, Kelly, Fyfe, Bontempelli, Oliver, Crouch (Baker, Bewley, Hind/Cameron)
    Grundy, Gawn (Bines)
Dangerfield, Kelly, Boak, Daniel, Heeney, Gray (Begley, Young)

Next few weeks will then just be a matter of watching the breakevens of Hurn and Whitfield. Thinking it’ll be Hore or Smith to Hurn in a week or two, and then perhaps look to upgrade Begley to Whitfield after his return, moving Moore to the forward bench.

Thinking about that, actually – convinced myself that Hind is the one this week, as I’ll likely be downgrading Baker in the next fortnight and can grab a cheap M/F rookie then.

    Gonna be really tempted to

  5. Hi I want to bring in Sloane this week. To do so I need to trade out either D Clarke or Bewley. Too early I know but this trade will mean I will be full premo except for Logue at D6 -will wat foe Whitfield in a few weeks
Thoughts on who I should trade
    TU Clarke
    TD Bewley

    1. If the money isn’t a factor, keep Clarke. Think he offers better scoring and JS as bench cover.
