Breaking Even – Rd5

Written by Schwarzwalder on April 16 2018

A popular feature at SCT, we’ve shortlisted the most SC-relevant players for you as a handy guide (mainly those owned by 5% of teams or more, with a few exceptions).

For the Supercoach newbies out there, the Breakeven is the score needed by each player to hold his price.  If they score above that Breakeven value, their $$ value will rise.  If they score below that Breakeven point, they will lose value.  Sorry if I’ve overlooked something.  Be sure to let me know in the Comments below and I’ll update it as soon as I can.  If you have any questions about Breakevens, don’t hesitate to ask in the Forum and I’m sure our friendly SCT Community will help out.

      1. Barlow had risen $178,300 as he scored 53 and 83 in his first 2 price rise weeks and was still sub $300K. Kelly has infact just got him with $186,300 increase and is up over $300k.

  1. Bonner nearing his peak? Might down grade to Coffield, leaving room for potential Mirra/Guelfi downgrades in the middle

    1. I’m gonna leave Bonner for one final week
He will manage the 58 then hopefully down to Mirra
The same with Brayshaw he will hopefully get to the 54 then down to Guefli

    1. Brought him in last week.
Not worried about the bye as there will be a couple of bargains to be picked along the way with the forwards especially if the defender rookies can maintain their current output.

  2. Crunched some numbers with the players who have had a price increase/decrease leading into round 5. There has been 34 price correction for rookies to date for an average increase of $66800. Breakdown being;
    Defenders including def/mids, def/fwd dpp (7 – $89,000), Midfielders only (10 – $70,800), Rucks including ruck/fwd dpp (1 – $85,500) and Forwards including mid/fwd dpp ( 16 – $53500.)

Very minor price correction with mid pricers overall, you just have to nail the correct ones – 271 changes averaging being a loss of $2100 to date.

The 67 premiums have lost on average $25300. Midfielders $27,000, Defenders $37400 , Rucks $8,800 and Forwards $18,700 all being losses.

  3. SC season is about to start in earnest as some fat cows look to be struggling. Succesful trades will be the key….go for prems or new cows ?? There looks to be a couple of ripper cows this and next week.

      1. Cunico/ Mirra/ Guelfi
One mid, one def and one fwd
All played first game on weekend. All 70+
I watched Mirra and Cunico and was impressed.
        Hear the same about Guelfi.
See how they go next week and then assess JS.
Looks good with Brayshaw and Bonner (and Fogarty ADE) approaching their use-by dates 😉

  4. no geary in mid price defs?
Know he’s not owned by 5% so maybe not SC relevant, but numbers this year pretty good and think he’s done well in prior years once maybe twice?

Avg 98.3 with 3 tons and a 49 but he wont be alone at St Kilda with the odd crap score? may see a lot of it this year in def???

    1. His BE is 81 this week. Tough games ahead. Probably only has another $30k max. upside in him, so bringing him in, you would probably want to be sure you’re happy for him to finish at M6 minimum.
