BS Rookie Review Round 19

Written by Big Sexy on August 5 2014

Rookies on the radar (<$200k) this week:

1)    J Crisp (Mid $189k, BE -89):  Crisp has come out with a bang in his first two games of 2014 with scores of 111 and 83.  This week Crisp had 20 disposals, 10 marks and 3 tackles.  This was his 14th AFL game so comes with an inflated price, but if he keeps scores like that coming, he might just be worth it.  Crisp is 20, 190cm and was a 2012 rookie elevation.

2)    C Wood (Ruck $162k, BE -67)  Wood has been a real contributor for the Blues since coming into the team in the last two weeks, however his last minute clearing kick from the Freo goal square that was marked by Freo and cost them the game may prove costly for his short-term furure.  This week Wood had 13 disposals and 12 hit outs in his 71 backing up his 84 last week.  Wood now has 66 games under his belt including stints at Brisy and the Pies.  He is now 27, 204cms having come across from the Maggies.

3)    L Thompson (Def $162k, BE -4)  Thomo hasn’t set the world on fire since coming in to the team, but I still see potential there.  Thomo’s three scores so far are 60, 67 and 35.  Thomo had 8 disposals 3 marks and 2 tackles in his 35 this week.  Thomo has now played 17 AFL games, and is 23, 194cms and was a 2010 rookie elevation.

4)    A Woodward (Mid $123k, BE -18)  Woodward has now played the two and had 15 disposals and 8 tackles in his stellar 86 this week.  Whilst playing well, I’m not certain he’ll keep his spot.  Woodward is 21 and 182cms and was taken at pick 53 in the 2011 national draft.

  1. No comments after 4 hours. I guess people just aren’t looking for rookies at this stage of the year anymore, BS. Might want to save yourself a job and just limit it to the data next week buddy.

  2. At the very least, I think this is useful for those of us already planning for next year. I’ll definitely be looking at some of the Lions youngsters, very promising.
It’s always a good read BS, thanks for putting it up.

  3. Great write up. Whilst I’m not looking for rookies I need to consider Crisp for coverage, is the extra $80k worth it to have coverage over a non playing cheapie?

  4. Hey BS, I am interested in Towers. Any love for the young Mid/Fwd.

Also, do you think Thommo will keep his spot in the team over the next few weeks?

  6. I will not be looking at the Rookies.

The trade will be done for a premium to premium on injuries.

Business end boys should be fully upgraded and enough trades to get you through.

But thanks anyway mate for the time
