  1. He is fairly consistent all year but really turns it on come supercoach finals time as anytime the Hawks play dud teams in this period their backlines just run off him and let him do his thing. Always plays well against my boys (pies) & at least if he is killing us on the park I can get something out of the game, which is in 3 weeks time.

  2. Didn’t take him cos the hawks play 3 of the top four sides in the next three weeks. I was hoping his price falls and I could pick him up cheap in round 5.

  3. I’m with you, Paul. Buddy is a gun at a good price, but there’s some argument for the idea he may not get any really inflationary scores till round 6 and up. You could have time time to make some nice coin on a Hitchcock or Rockliff by then.

Course you could get bit in the arse too, but those are the risks you take.

  4. Will no doubt be hoping for a spike in a few of my lower priced forwards prices to get hold of Franklin later in the year.

He’ll be cheap until round 4’s lockout at least barring any further suspensions anyhow so he’s one you can let through to the keeper until the league wars start.

  5. After Hawks fairly horrible year last year, Buddy still managed to average 93. I’ve taken Buddy as an undervalued premium who I want there all year.

Come round 5 and beyond blokes like Hodge, Lewis, Mitchell, Cyril and hopefully Burgoyne will be hitting him laces out all day.

    1. Rhino, this is exactly why I chose him too – 70 goals in a bad season – c’mon, the guy is an absolute GUN!!

  6. Never looked like it last year,he is a great price & will be stinging
about the negative press he recieved. In for a huge year.GET ON BOARD.eg.

  7. I had him but the pulled him out, in favour of Tippy. My thought was he’d drop in value over the next few weeks not knowing he was only out for one. I couldn’t sustain the 0 in my FWD and as it was pre-season I didn’t burn a trade.

    1. Preseason I was worried that Jono and Fev wouldn’t be able to work together. After seeing one match it looks as though they’ll be fine. Give Buddy a go and if it doesn’t work out then trade up. Jono’s price is already $525k. Can’t see it going too much further north of that.

      1. This was my thinking too – hoping to upgrade Hall to Jono if he has a brain fart, otherwise I’ll upgrade one of my other mid-priced boys if Hall keeps performing!!

  8. Buddy will struggle against Scarlett this week , he always does BUT word around the club is he is absolutely flying and eager to make an impression this week against Geelong , I agree with the punters above who mentioned an average of 93 last year when he was

    1) Injured or partly injured for most of the year
    2) Overweight, Unfit and Underdone
    3) Missed the entire 12 week pre season
    4) Received poor supply from midefielders

Anyway , get on him !

  9. I have him and had the luxury of sitting him on my bench to bring him into the side this week. Cant go past the freak. I am expecting big things this year and his addition to my forward line should see me cracking 2300’s consistently. Must have.

  10. he was worth a punt for me at his price and can be a match winner for your team. or even select him as captain against some poor defence

  11. Tappy: Not just poor defences, I’d also select him against the Bulldogs in Round 3, as he always carves us up. Rocket will be thinking to play Tommy Williams on him, as Tommy has done well before, but somehow I feel Buddy might have a picnic next week.
