Burning Question – Rd18

Written by Schwarzwalder on July 19 2017

For many years Pendlebury was the 2nd player picked after Ablett with daylight in 3rd position.  After multiple seasons averaging 120+ in Supercoach, Pendles has come right back to the pack this year with a current avg of 106.  Over the last five weeks Pendles has (uncharacteristically) hit the ton just once with a Last-Three-Week Average of just 84.

And now the broken finger…………..By all reports, the surgery was successful and he may just miss the one game.  That’d be quite a feat though.  With only six weeks of Supercoach left, this weeks Burning Question is as follows:  Is it worth holding onto Pendles? How have you planned for the coming weeks?

Is it worth holding onto Pendlebury?

  1. If I had Pendles I would trade as I just can’t trust he will be out for 1 week and with Danger a concern as well having 2 on the bench could cause nightmares

    1. Think you’re right Nato. And throw Sloane in the same team (mine) and trouble is brewing. Saving grace is the Friday night fixture. Should be able to come up with a plan.

  2. Hope Danger plays otherwise I’ll be forced to trade. Thankfully Danger is first up this week.

Plan of attack, whack the (E) on Greenwood and see how he goes. If he puts up a decent score I’ll hold for the week otherwise I’ll move him on for the inform and cheap Fyfe.

  3. Pendlebury’s current injury epitomises the 2017 SC season.

After last week’s match he had only missed
    10 from 236 games since 2007.
    8 from 214 games since 2008.
    5 from 170 since 2010.

Last year T Adams missed 8 games (same amount Pendles has missed since 2008) yet S Pendlebury was the first to miss a game this season.

  4. I’m trading out greenwood. Is there any rookies worth looking at or do I go cheapest player that won’t get a game ?
Thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    1. Do you have to trade greenwood or can you wait and see how Young goes in his 2nd game. It’s good to have atleast one loophole option but bench depth critical this time of year, as those who lost out in the rd 17 Selwood/Yeo lottery will tell you – bench deadwood is not good.

  6. It depends on your situation

I’ve got Sloane, Danger and Pendles, and i need league wins so Pendles is gone.

If you’ve got good bench cover and you are cruising in your leagues then he’s a hold.
