Community TEAM – Rd2

** POLLS HAVE BEEN ADDED (7.4.16, 8pm) – GET YOUR VOTES IN NOW!! **

Rd2 Score – 2269

Overall Ranking – 3091

If you’re reading this, then you are part of THE TEAM.  We’ve consistently had over 150 (even as much as 250+ in some polls) Supercoaches giving us their input to shape this magnificent TEAM.  Currently ranked at #3091 overall and with all trades in hand, this TEAM is going places!!  But we still need your help, of course.  This is the TEAM as it stands at the completion of Rd2………….

TEAM Rd2

TEAM Rd2-1

As strongly as I urged everyone not to trade last week, I’ve done a full 180 and am urging you to use the two correctional trades if you have any issues with your sides.  And THE TEAM is no different.  We’ve done fairly well in nailing the right rookies in our initial line-up, there’s enough good cash cows there.  As I see it (and judging by the response in ‘Trade Talk’), we have four players that could cause headaches.

1. Michael Barlow – looking a shadow of his former self being played on a forward flank. Getting little midfield time till now and not offering much up forward either.  In my opinion, if we are to trade him then now is the time.

2. Tom Rockliff – interrupted pre-season and now the niggles are coming to light in a big way. Breakeven of 184 whenever he plays next and, till he starts firing again, I’d prefer to have someone who is fit and firing in his crucial midfield spot.

3. Jade Gresham – Not setting the world on fire but Richo gives the kids a few chances. Might survive another week at the selection table but for how long?

4. Josh Dunkley – Playing in an impressive winning side might just save Dunkley from the axe this week. Hopefully he can get amongst it against the Hawks and hold his spot a while longer.

I’ll put these players in the comments and let the Thumbs Function decide (T/U TRADE, T/D HOLD).  For the Thumbs to work properly, click on your preferred option then refresh your browser immediately for it to register.  If we decide to trade anyone, we’ll put it to a poll as to who we replace them with.  Polls will appear on this thread after Teams are announced on Thursday night (around 8pm).  If you’re of the opinion that another of our players should be placed up for trade, then type their name in comments and we’ll let the Thumbs decide.  If more than two players are selected as ‘trade bait’, the two players with the most ‘thumbs up’ will be put to the final poll (the rest will be held in the TEAM).  Hopefully that’s all clear?  Clear as mud?  😉  Any questions, just let me know in comments.  Thanks again for your input, everyone!

** UPDATE 7.4.16, 8pm.  Polls for Rd2 **

Trading Barlow OUT is a very popluar choice.  Tom Rockliff however isn’t playing (won’t lose value) and Jade Gresham has now been omitted.  I just want to make sure of this one so the first poll looks at Rockliff or Gresham as our 2nd trade OUT.  When selecting our trade IN options, keep in mind we only have $15k in the bank before making any moves.  Probably why I’ve left out certain selections.  Please vote on all eight polls………Thanks for your input!!

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

If Rockliff is voted OUT, then who comes IN for him?

If Gresham is voted OUT, then who comes IN for him?

Who is the best trade IN for Barlow?

And now the usual weekly questions as who to start on the field?

Unfortunately our loophole option (Sam Grimley) is playing on the Friday night.  So we only have one shot at the choice of Captain (even if Gresham stays in the team)………

Thank you all for your help!!

  1. Can I propose a set of trades?

Barlow OUT swing one of def/fwd rookies into the forward line then trade IN Johannisen
    Rockliff OUT RGray/Hannebery/Parker IN

  2. Trades are gold, and so-called correctional trades are a myth. A trade is a trade.

You’ve done an awesome job to get all the must-have rookies. I don’t see a lot of holes that need ‘correcting’. I’d probably hold.

    TU: only use one trade
    TD: use both

  3. I’m probably going to be in the minority, but I advocate making no trades.

Tom Rockliff plays in the last game of the round. He is useful as both a Captain’s loophole and midfield loophole agent. Secondly, he seems to return from injuries swiftly. Thirdly, a projected two-week absence is borderline on trading consensus. If Ryan Davis scores a 100, for example, then you’d take that score, keep Rockliff and just wait the next week out.

As for Michael Barlow, he’s not been playing through the midfield, and if he returns, I reckon his scores will shoot up. Something needs to change at Fremantle; so the potential for a shake-up is there.

Also, you can field Papley by sending a FWD/MID DPP to switch with Menadue and benching Menadue. You could, potentially, send Barlow into the mids, field Davis and loophole Gresham with Barlow.

I’d also advise switching Kennedy or Wells into the middle to keep the potential DPP swing open for as long as possible during the round.

    Thumbs Up: Make no trades
    Thumbs Down: Trades are necessary

  4. Twitch proposed the perfect 2 trades imo, but if it’s only single names for now: Rockliff & Barlow gone, bang bang!

  5. Correctional trades are not only ideal for gaining funds, off loading under performing players to better your side but getting the best team structure before the start of the initial price rises. Unfortunately I know all about calf injuries & they are very fickle, so two weeks is more than likely the best scenario for Rocky IMO….maybe more, so he has to go.

Barlow is an interesting one for me, there’s every chance he’s thrown back in the guts sooner rather than later, with the way Freo have started FURL is going to make changes this week for the Derby & Barlow maybe one of the changes.

Looking at the team it needs to have its dpp’s accessible, atm its not there & it concerns me for potential coverage we may need in weeks to come with under performing rookie mids….that may need to be changed to a Petracca like (mid/fwd) who will inevitably play loads of games in 2016 but also be used as a loophole (C) as I think Melbourne play more Sunday & later games than any other team in 2016.

Rocky out, Kerridge into the mids, AMT to the fwd F7, Johannisen in defence F6 / Dea to D7 & Papley to F5 leaving around $145ish in the bank & that’s only( 1 trade )……………..If Gresham is dropped ( which I think he might ) trade in Parish ( price will rise for the next few weeks/solid cover ) leaving around $100k in the bank or Petracca leaving around $170k in the bank & effectively allowing the def/fwd & mid/fwd dpp’s capabilities to be activated!

Just an idea to throw out there SCT coaches!

  6. Although I am holding Rockliff and I reckon that holding is a better option, I feel that team should trade him out. The midfield rookies are not strong and there is no DPP to get a safe score on field in lieu of Rockliff. I think he will only miss a week but I think the team can’t afford to lose that many points in a week.

  7. I’m really impressed with the way you’re handling this community team, Schwarz. Looks easy for us just answering polls, but the effort that must go into thinking about how to formulate all the options is much appreciated. This team is going to be rock solid all year and I’m having lots of fun being involved.

  8. OUT: Jade Gresham

IN: Matthew Uebergang via Sam Kerridge

    Cash Generated: $37, 400

Reasoning: Opens up FWD/DEF swing, gives us another floating donut option, granting greater team flexibility for loopholes. We get a little bit of spending money, as well as a captaincy loophole option. I personally have used Uebergang to great success over the first two rounds of the season.

    Thumbs Up: Lock it In

    Thumbs Down: Better Options available

  9. OUT: Tom Rockliff

    IN: Joel Selwood.

This might be a bit borderline, but if Robbie Gray is an option at $595k, then Selwood should be considered at $565k. He is a Supercoach gun, and he faces Brisbane this week, a team he scored 171 against last time he played.

    Thumbs Down: Better Options available

  10. Just a thought, as I wasn’t that happy with your mid rookie choices. Do a mid/for swap with BenKen for Menadue. Then your fielded mid rookies could be BenKen and Mills and fielded forward rookies could be Papley and Kerridge.

Considering the community team is beating me, maybe not 😉

  11. I’m in the boat of trading Rocky next week, possibly to someone that’s fallen or even a Zorko? And we get to use him as a loophole. Plus we get to switch Gresham to someone that will generate $$$. Either way LOVE this idea! Thanks for all the effort that gets put into it!!
