TEAM Rd3-1

TEAM-Stats-Rd3

We may have dropped a touch in the Rankings but it’s nothing to panic about.  We’re only 140-odd points away from the Top1000.  When I look at the TEAM right now, I don’t see many problem areas.  Our midfield rookies in Menadue, Gresham and Dunkley worry me a little, but I’m not in a rush to trade them out this week given the lack of rookie options ‘on the bubble’.

As far as backlines go, I think ours is fairly stable and the Cash Cows there simply need more time.  Our midfield is strong.  We have five of the best midfielders going around at the minute (plus Libba).  While our rucks will miss Goldy for the year (or most of it), Gawn and S.Martin have started reasonably well and should both be right up there in the Top3 Rucks for 2016. Forward line looks a bit risky now with so many rookies but their job security looks fairly stable.

I’ll keep it short and sweet this week.  I see no need to trade with THE TEAM before Rd4.  My opinion may change after teams are announced on Thursday night but I’d HOLD for now.

If you have any trade suggestions, please place the name of the player (ONLY!) in the comments below.  Now that the thumbs are working properly again, we’ll let them decide.  T/U for TRADE, T/D for HOLD.  If anyone is to be traded out (will need min. 50 thumbs considering the overall number of Coaches involved), then we’ll put it to a poll on Thursday night.  Be sure to check back on the post again after 8pm on Thursday night for our regular polls (emergencies, Captain and so on).  Thank you, Coaches!

UPDATE (14.4.16, 7.40pm)

Judging by the reactions below, HOLDING trades is the way to go this week.  I agree, they’ll come in handy later on and we can cover comfortably for this week.

Given the reaction to Motts’ suggestion in comments, I’ve moved Adams to the forward line and Kerridge into the midfield.  It’s left us with a few Emergency Loophole options.  Now there are a few slight adjustments to make.  Please vote on all of the following six polls (regardless how you may have voted on certain polls).  Thank you, Coaches!!

Who plays on-field in DEF? (max. two)

Josh Dunkley (WBD) can be used as Emergency Loophole until Saturday night so we get a look at Ryan Davis’ score ahead of Callum Mills……..

Using Josh Dunkley as EMG loophole, what score would you accept from Ryan Davis (GCS) before using Callum Mills (SYD)?

Since Lincoln McCarthy (GEE) has been (unluckily) omitted, we can use him as Emergency Loophole for the Friday night game with Connor Menadue (RICH)……….

Using Lincoln McCarthy as EMG loophole, what score would you accept from Connor Menadue (RICH) before using Tom Papley (SYD)?

Should we automatically give Matt Priddis (WCE) the VC on Friday night against Richmond?

Should we use the Captains Loophole on Matt Priddis (WCE) on Friday Night?

Regardless of your previous answer, who would you place as C for Rd4?

  1. One thing we could do is trade Gresham to a defence rookie and put lonergan at m8. Strengthen the mids a bit and then put dea on field

    1. Neither do I. He’s performing above price, so urgency to trade seems unnecessary.

If you can really point to a standout rookie we are missing with some job security, then perhaps.

    1. Like Thommo pointed out last week, the late news of Mundy being OUT cost us. It’s too hard to run a poll at that sort of short notice unfortunately.
Even so, in the long run, I still think JJ will bring more pts than Barlow. Time will tell……

    2. Remember the decision to trade Barlow was based on his scoring potential for the season, not just for 1 or 2 werks.

There was always the possibility that he would come out and post a good score. Only time will tell if the trade is worthwhile.

    1. That looks to be the direction we’re taking but it’d mean having to use Dunkley as loophole option and taking Davis/Mills score without back-up……

    1. I’ll use the Community TEAM as an example.
Menadue is playing on Friday night. He is our EMG in the forward line. If he scores well then I can move McCarthy (not playing this week) onto the field and take his score. If Menadue scores poorly then I just leave Tom Papley on the field and hope he scores better than Menadue. Simple…..

    1. Apologies. Upon review, I have come to the realisation that it would be extremely difficult to put the C on Goldy, as the TEAM does not have him; and that it’s time for a holiday from my night shift. Danger into GAJ looks good.

Wouldn’t it be a real thrill if this team made the top 100?

  2. I reckon Danger into Gaz for VC/C, both playing bottom teams, expecting at least 1 huge score from them. If we don’t trade Gresham/Dunkley to Hartley this week, then we should strongly consider trading one to either Byrne or Ruggles the following week. Can’t afford to have too many non playing rookies this early.

  3. Community TEAM Update: VC – Dangerfield, C – Ablett. Priddis to bench, Dunkley on the field as Captains Loophole option if needed…….

      1. I would’ve thought Priddis was the better option and he was voted against as VC. Unless I see a ton of hate mail in the next hour, I’ll stick with Danger into Ablett 😉
