Final Thoughts Friday

Written by Duck on May 24 2013

The hours before the first game are often the longest … waiting to log on to the Match Centre and see exactly what we’re up against.

How do you reckon you’ll go this week? What big trades have you made? Who got the BIG A from your line-up permanently and who’s been relegated to the pine for at least this week?

  1. I’ll struggle in a couple of my leagues, playing guys in the top 3000 in the 2 leagues I found through SCT ….. shows the people on here know what they’re doing!!

  3. My pain is with Hayden Crozier, I need him to play. I made the silly mistake of bringing him in for Dwyer 3 weeks ago when Dwyers Avg and BE were on par.

It made sense at the time for $ and Crozier was on the bubble, but since then he has worn the vest and then not played. I need him to play to save trades this week or I will have a donut.

Anyone heard of his chances this week

  4. Welcome to the team Webster and Nic Nat, goodbye Daisy and Stevenson

Thought about giving Nic Nat the VC straight up, but think I’ll put it on Cox

Staker for Neade next week and probably Macaffer to a premium not sure who yet …… maybe Martin or Bartel

  5. TU: Mayes to Staker in fwd line

  6. Would really appreciate an injury free week!

Team changes from last week have me hoping for a better score this round.

IN: Gibbs, Webster (NEW), Naitanui (NEW), Maric, S Johnson
OUT: Stevenson (Traded), Hutchins (Benched), Griffin (Traded), Blicavs (Benched), Macaffer (Benched)

  7. Struggling with who to trade into my backline, only have 3 prems in there (Goddard, Gibbs & Hanley). Have $530k to spend – wanted to bring in Hibberd but nervy with injury cloud. Would rather wait to see if Birchall starts scoring better. Are either worth the risk? Nervous to jump on Hurn or Duffield after previous ‘in the moment’ trade fails.

  8. Hibberd, goodes, goddard, terlich, vlastuin, hartlett (hutchins, pittard)

Ablett, pendlebury, cotchin, jpk, dangerfield, priddis, o’meara, Mayes (crouch, Mitchell)

    Cox, berger (gawn, currie)

Franklin, rockliff, bartel, Martin, Dwyer, kennedy (macaffer, Rowe)

I am sitting just outside top 100, only thing against Watson is the bye

TU: pittard to thurlow, Mayes to deledio (or other mid <570k
TD: pittard to Webster, Mayes to Watson (1k short on the above)

  9. Vice captain decision

    TU J J Kennedy
    TD Coxy

A slight pod with Kennedy, the Tom Lynch 10 clouding my judgment possibly as West Coast have GWs.

  11. I have an unusual situation where I should have 8 defenders who will play this week. Of the 7 who played, 3 scored in the 70s (Goodes, Hartlett and Staker) and the other 4 scored tons (Goddard, Hanley, Vlastuin and Terlich).

Now, the one who didn’t play was Gibbs and given that i stupidly don’t have a DPP option to send him to the mids I an wondering what to do with him.

    T/U play him
T/D leave him on the bench to see how he goes

  12. Ok here is my dilemma
Im concerned about Gibbs being the sub……
    This is my backline
Goddard, Hartlett, Goodes, Gibbs, Vlastuin, Terlich ( Webster, Thurlow)

So if I find out after the St Kilda twilight game has started that Gibbs is a sub can I avoid his score through the rolling lockout trickery avaialble ????
The only way I can think off is if I bench Terlich ( who plays Sunday) and play Thurlow and then swap Gibbs and Terlich if Gibbs is named as a sub….
Anyone have any other ideas??? No DPP

  14. OK, I’ve trade Thurlow for Stephenson for my first trade

For my second am tossing up between:
    T/U Daisy to Nic Nat
T/D Daisy to JPK (via Kerridge)

First option would make my forward line: Dusty, Rockliff, JJK, Rough, Buddy, Nic Nat (with rucks of Cox, Leuy)

Second option would make my on mids: Ablett, Swan, Danger, Cotch, Priddis, Fyfe, JPK, O’Meara (Viney, Crouch)

Any thoughts appreciated – who is more important to bring in this week?

    cheers

  15. Id go for a coconut rough instead. Far tastier and much cheaper. Doesnt score many supercoach points though.

  16. Well my trades this week following the wise lords a SCT

Now how did I do this again.

    Neade – Thurlow

    Daisy – Watson

    Then Staker pushed FWD.

Leaving me 145,000 in the Bank.

Predicted at 2,211 but hey lately I am needing to subtract about 300 to meet my actual score.

  17. My final Friday thoughts are that i’m worried for the first time in three weeks all my guns are on the park. I’ll keenly watch the teams over the weekend as i’m sure the SuperCoach gods will make a late withdrawal or make Gibbs wear a vest of some colour.

  18. ALF.com.au report “The Brisbane Lions are also set for a change after vice-captain Tom Rockliff revealed first-year player Sam Docherty would come into the side to face Carlton on Saturday night. Defender Mitch Golby is the likely absentee after missing training on Friday.”

  19. Fellas,
Debating between these 2 trades… Coming 800 overall in SC so going for overall not league…
    T/U – Goodes —-> Thurlow & Daw —-> Naitanui
    T/D – Pittard —-> Thurlow & Mayes —-> Buddy
    Cheers

  20. Tough decision guys, have been pulling my hair out. Would love some advice if possible please!
Current backs are God, Heppell, Gibbs, Goodes, Vlas, Terlich, Heath, Laird

    T/U
    Omera – Watson
Viney- Thurlow (via Goodes, which gives me a mid link but leaves me with dodgy bench coverage)

    T/D
    Omera- Watson
    Heath – Thurlow

  21. Any chance of Clarkson resting a player against the suns. He has only had 6 late withdrawals from 8 rounds.

  22. If everything goes above and beyond perfectly this weekend, I could get a score of 2800+.

  24. Going in with Buddy and Thurlow this week.

Happy with Hutchins starting at full back should Gibbs get the vest at any stage in the warm up I might have cover for it.

Hoping Port don’t have any late outs to somehow gift Stevenson a late berth… I need him to stay out to take advantage of the captaincy loophole.

Otherwise I’ve got a full boat playing through all lines and hopefully some cash generation.

Wishlist: Lucas tons it up, Buddy likewise and Mayes tops his breakeven.

I’ll leave the rest up to the SC Gods…

  26. Stevenson being rested means I won’t lose any money on him so instead of bringing in thurlow I can afford Watson this week.
Wines and daisy out for buddy and jab.
    Thumbs?
