Flavour of The Week – R12

Written by Motts on June 16 2015

Schwarzwalder is taking a wander through the Black Forest this week and has left me in charge of his magnificent FoTW post.

The data on the most trades, traded out and traded in players are below. It’ll come as no surprise to anyone that the most traded in players all had their byes last week and the most traded out players all have their bye this week.

Does anyone want to step up in Comments and give us the pros and cons of any of them?

  1. Well, the traded outs are Bellchambers, Rocky, and a lot of cows. I’ll cover the Cows in Cow Talk. Rocky is hurt and Bellchambers cannot be properly described in polite company…….

  2. Sloan started like a house on fire and was the talk of the town untill the house fell apart and the fire burned all those who traded him in for Ablett. I like many will be bringing him in this week. As well as his Adelaide team mate Smith. If I had the extra 140k if bring in Houli as a POD he can go large.

  3. Thank you for the service Adam Saad!! Wonderful contributions in the fickle backline this year….

FoTW seems to be similar to what i’m thinking this week:

    Saad -> B. Smith
McKenzie -> L. Hodge (in the Mids)
Bellchambers (fwd) -> Hamling (Higgins DPP)

With 128k still left, next week will be looking at trading out likes of Tarrant, Hogan, Griffen (finally can piss him off the team), McIntosh and that should leave me almost at full-premo..

  4. I Think the order of most traded out might change now that mumford has been ruled out for season. With that news I wonder if phillips or lobb will be given first crack or whether cameron decides to go with both.

  6. A lot of questions for me to consider this week.
Is McKenzie ready to be harvested?
CEY to Sloane or Clark to Dahlhaus?

  7. I’m in the worst position I have ever been in… WHAT TO DO????

Mcdonald Shaw Ibbotson Hibberd Saad Brown Mckenzie Lever(Isheback?)

Fyfe Pendlebury Ward Heppel Kennedy Selwood Beams Yolmen(Isheback?) Boston Menadue(Isheplaying?) Krakouer

    Goldstein Mumford(Outforseason)

Gray Kennedy Roughead Martin Bont(Isheback?) Clark(Isheback?) Lonie Dale(Isheplaying?)

I have 220k in the bank & 16 trades left… It’s a must win week for me to keep my self in the 8. [money league]

Any tips, ideas on who to get or what to do…. He has a strong 18 playing…

Thumbs up trade & try win… Thumbs down take the loss 🙁

  8. Looks like Steele and Marchbank are finally to get a go, so that sorts out one positional issue.

Much as I’d like to keep Saad, with maybe 15 playing it’s going to be hard to keep both Saad and Oxley, and Oxley’s breakeven versus Saad’s dpp is a tough call.

Can we trust Brodie Smith just yet?

  9. I want to ensure I know what I’m doing with trades after Thursday’s game. I am trading in Rory Sloane. Can I do 1 or 2 more trades on Friday after I can more clearly see what’s going on with team selections?
I particularly want to trade in Hamling and am really confused with his job security and even whether he will get picked this week. Thought he was a lock this week.
I have never traded after first lock-out and just want to make sure. Only have 15 playing at the moment.

  10. I’m considering bringing in Steele, Brodie and Dahl this week…..
Is my FWD line (7 premos) an overkill and am I better off spending cash elsewhere THUMBS UP
or are these solid trades and my squad looks awesome THUMBS DOWN

Shaw Yeo Newnes McDonald Brodie Oxley (Hamling, Pearce)
Fyfe Danger Pendles, Joelwood Beams Wines Wallis Cripps (Amon Glenn Smith)
    Goldstein, Blicavs (Cox)
Swan, Gray, Buddy, JJKennedy Titch, Dahl (Bont, Steele)

  11. Salem and Clark make way for Lukey Dal and probably Steele.

My dilemma is with this 3rd trade this week. The net effect of my first 2 trades costs me about 40k leaving me with 250k to spare. I have been itching to jump on Hanneberry by trading out Tarrant via Bont next week, the question I am stuck with is do I get greedy and jump on Dangerfield this week as well?

I can find a way to afford these upgrade my big dilemma is that my Mids, Rucks and forwards would all be complete whilst my backline is utterly atrocious with barely any true premiums (Gibson, Taylor, Newnes??). So I’m wondering if I play it slower, hold my cash for 3 weeks and go grab Hodge, Heath Shaw and Tommy Mac or if I spend big over the next 2 rounds on Danger and Hanners.

T/U- Mids are SC Kings, defenders are spuds anyway.
T/D- You’re only as strong as youre weakest link. Plug the defensive gaps immediately.
