For Starters

Written by Schwarzwalder on June 28 2019

Gra Pol asked the question in the Polling Station and we’re happy to help.

Gra Pol would like to know how many of your original line-up in Rd1 are still making an appearance in your team today.  This could’ve been done as a poll but I feel it’s a better discussion thread.

Let us know how many ‘keepers’ are still in your team from Rd1 and how many ‘rookies’ have survived this long.

As an example, The TEAM still has ten keepers in its line-up that started in Rd1 (Whitfield is the only ‘keeper’ that has been moved on) with Patrick Bines the only rookie to have survived thus far.

Let us know how many of your starters are still standing…………

  1. Players still on my team! Walsh is the only player who I plan on moving out at soon

    Def: Lloyd, Hurn, Williams.

Mid: Cripps, Fyfe, M Crouch, Walsh

    Ruck: Gawn, Grundy, Bines

    Fwd: Dunkley, Danger, Heeney

  2. Def: Lloyd, Hurn, Williams, Smith
    Mid: Cripps, M.Crouch, Oliver
    Ruck: Gawn, Grundy, Bines
    Fwd: Dunkley, Danger

  3. 13 premos and 2 rookies remain for me. Haven’t traded any premos out, but did move on midpricers in B Smith and D Moore. Z Williams looks like the midpricers move that’s paid off for me. Always thought of D Moore as a cash cow, so 1 of Smith and Williams to become a keeper is pretty decent I reckon. Luckily didn’t start with anyone expensive who stank it up

  4. DEF – Lloyd, Laird, Williams, Duursma, Hore
MID – Cripps, Oliver, Neale, M. Crouch, Merrett
    RUC – Grundy, Gawn, Bines
    FWD – Dangerfield, Heeney, Setterfield

  5. 12 on field plus three bench, includes Fyfe out and back in. Can’t get rid of the bench as selection and injuries have dictated unplanned moves.

    Lloyd, Laird, Williams
    Cripps, Fyfe, Macrae, MCrouch, Scott
    Gawn, Goldi, Bines
    Danger, Heeney, Billings, Burgess

  6. Def: Williams, Andrews, Hore, Wilkie (Hore will leave today)
Mid: Cripps, Fyfe, Oliver, Sheed, M.Crouch, Scott
    Ruc: Gawn, O’Brien
    FWD: Danger, Kelly, Dunkley,

    Not the easiest reading.

  7. Def: Lloyd, Williams, Hore, Moore (started with Whitfield and he will probably come back in after he returns from injury) Hore and Moore will go soon.

Mid: Macrae, Cripps, Oliver, M Crouch, Walsh. Walsh will go very soon.

    Ruc: Gawn, Grundy, Bines

Fwd: Dunkley, Dangerfield, Heeney, Setterfield. Setters will go in the next couple of weeks.

  8. J. Lloyd, B.Smith
    J. Macrae, C. Oliver, M. Crouch, P. Cripps, B. Scott
    M. Gawn, B. Grundy
    P. Dangerfield, T. Kelly, I. Heeney, W. Setterfield, P. Bines

14 from my original team still here. Only looking to move on maybe 2 of those. A pretty good year so far.

  9. Def: Lloyd, Crisp
    Mid: Cripps, Neale, Taranto, BCrouch
    Ruc: Gawn, Grundy, Sweet
    Fwd: Danger, Boak, Heeney

Traded out Z Williams when he got injured but ideally would have held. B Smith lasted until this week before upgrading him to Laird.

  10. Laird, Williams
    Macrae, Cripps, Coniglio, Oliver, Bontempelli
    Gawn, Grundy, Sweet
    Danger, Dunkley, Setterfield, Burgess

14 including 2 rookies and a loophole. 11 keepers, Heeney being the only luxury trade early and then Whitfield due to injury. Hoping to turf Setterfield soon! WIll probably be stuck with Burgess

  11. Done the ol’ out and in with Cogs and Dunks

    Def: LLoyd, Sic, Williams

    Mid: Crippla, Cogs*, Fyfe, Macrae

    R: Gawndy

    Fwd: Heeney, Danger, Dunk*,

  12. Def: Z Williams, X Duursma*
    Mid: L Neale, P Cripps, M Crouch, C Oliver, S Walsh*
    Ruc: M Gawn, B Grundy, P Bines
    Fwd: P Dangerfield, T Kelly

*To be traded, traded underperforming premos of Heeney and Darling

  13. DEF: Williams, Liard
    MID: Cripps, Neale, Cogs, Oliver
RUC: Grundy, Lycett* moved to fwd Bines
    FWD: Danger, Heeney, Kelly, Billings

    Rookies: setters

    1. Whitfield the only premo traded out due to LTI so pretty happy
Had planned to keep Moore as Swing option but his cash was well spent

  14. DEF: Williams, Smith
MID: Oliver, Martin, Crouch, Brayshaw (Setterfield)
    RUC: Gawn, Grundy (Bines)
    FWD: Danger, Dunkley, Heeney, Billings

  15. 14 still there

DEF – Lloyd, Williams, Hore (Hurn soon) & Burgess (Loophole)
MID – McRae, Cripps, Oliver, M Crouch & Scott (Loophole)
    RUCK – Grundy & Gawn
    FWD – Dangerfield, Dunkley, Heeney

Would say that’s pretty good IDK?

  16. 14 still there – only premo traded out is Whitfield, plus Libba as a mid-pricer.
    Laird Williams Sicily
    Cripps Coniglio Neale Crouch
    Gawn Grundy Schlensog
    Danger Kelly Heeney Burgess

  17. Def: Lloyd,Williams, Smith, Duursma
Mids: Macrae, Oliver, Cripps, Crouch, Walsh
    Rucks: Gawn, Grundy, Bines
    Fwd: Danger, Heeney, Burgess

So 15 still the same before this round but Duursma and Walsh are out this week with Smith as a luxury upgrade or D7 depending on price in later rounds

  18. 12 still there – 10 premo’s & 2 rookies. Premo’s traded out are Cogs, M Crouch & Whitfield, all due to injury.

    DEF: Williams, J Lloyd
    MID: Cripps, Neale, Oliver
    RUC: Grundy, Grundy
    FWD: Danger, Heeney, T Kelly,

Rookies: Setterfield & Sweet (traded out for ROB then traded back in)

  19. Def: S. Hurn, R Laird
    Mid: P. Cripps, L. Neale, C. Oliver, M Crouch
    Ruc: M Gawn, B Grundy (P. Bines)
    Fwd: J Dunkley, P. Dangerfield (C. Burguess)

So 10 Keepers and 2 rookies. Along the way I’ve traded out two premos in Heeney round 3 (poor start to year) and Whitfield round 12 (injury). As well as two mid pricers both of whom were for cash gen purposes, Moore round 9 (looked to have made all his money) and Libba round 14 (injury)

My teams nearing full premo and pretty happy with most of my trades so far

  20. Surprisingly not many
    Def Lloyd, Williams
    Mid Neale Cripps Duursma Scott
    R. Grundy
    F. Danger,Heeney, Bines
Lost Merrett early, was a toss up between him and Steele stayed with Steele.
Lost Fyfe ,has proved us all wrong with a durable year.
Lost Whitfield, broken collarbone was too many weeks.
Lost Goldy, was always going to be traded in for Gawn and ROB has overtaken him.
Have since traded in 15 premiums and are now at full strength.
    6 trades left.
