Game Chat – Adelaide vs Richmond

Written by Thommo on September 19 2020

Where and When: Adelaide Oval, Saturday 19 September 2020 at 5:10pm AEST

Last time they met: Rd 13, 2019: Adelaide 15.11 (101) def Richmond 9.14 (68) at Adelaide Oval.

Match Preview: A few weeks ago, this game was a pure formality for Richmond to win. A top 4 side facing the bottom side with zero wins! But now that the Crows have put together 3 straight wins, this match is no longer so cut and dried. While the Tigers were dominant against a rampaging Cats, they must now travel to Adelaide Oval where they have not had the greatest record in recent years. With a top 4 spot on the line, the Tigers don’t need any motivation, but this match could be closer than expected.

Supercoach Watch: Richmond: He has not been fun to watch, but many forward lines are stuck with Dusty for their Grand Final.

Adelaide: How awesome has it been owning Crows for the SC finals? Matthew Crouch, Rory Laird, Reilly O’Brien and even Lachlan Sholl have won many a SC final for their owners.

Thommo Watch: Being strapped for cash, I jumped on Elliott Himmelberg last week for an 88 point effort. Fingers crossed he can find the ball this week against the tough Tigers’ defence.

Thommo’s Tip: Richmond by 18 points.

    1. I’m playing it safe with what I have. Neale last week shows what could potentially happen. I can accept a small loss but not a massive loss.

      1. It’s a tough one Nato. I am tending towards agreeing, especially with the potential very slippery conditions in Cairns for Bont, Mcrea and co. Titch has been less than convincing.

        1. Slippery conditions could mean a lot of contested possessions so it could go both ways I have gone with my gut and with Bont
