Game Chat – Brisbane v St Kilda

Written by Father Dougal on August 23 2020

Where and When:The Gabba, Sunday 23 August at 3:35pm (AEST)
Last time they met: Brisbane 17.13 (119) def St Kilda 8.11 (59) Round 14, 2019.

What does it mean for Brisbane: If they win they stay in second but tied on points and only behind on percentage.  If they lose they probably end up in 3rd behind St Kilda on percentage.
What does it mean for St Kilda: A win puts them probably in second by percentage. A loss leaves them in the 8  but what an opportunity lost.

Supercoach Watch Lions: The whole team! Like, really, the whole darn team. Maybe not McStay and Ah Chee. But the rest.
Supercoach Watch Saints:  Steel! Also Butler, Marshall, Billings, Ryder, and Bytel.
Father Dougal Watch: Neale! He’s captain for many, and in some cases for people who passed up a 130+ score.

  1. F’d up my VC choice in Macrae when Close and Schoenberg were both named to play in the early game today, meant I had no loophole Lol!

Means I need Neale to keep his form going this year and at least get me close to Macrae score.

    Hopefully no Steele tag

  2. I have a dilemma my VC was meant to be Neal and all of my emergency loopholes will be locked out before then so I need to Captain either Neal NicNat or Grundy who should I go for?

    1. Nic Nat > Grundy going to get cancelled out versing a good ruck, Neale might get tagged by steele but its your choice.

  4. Ryder. You know you can tap it TO advantage, right?

He and RoMo comfortably have McInerney in the HOs 2 to 1, but there’s no synergy between the Saints RUCs and MIDs. Argh!

  5. Neale has just not been the same this game. Must be time to trade him out, I just can’t accept this 😉

    1. Natopotato, Steele is actually very smart with his tagging. Luxury rage trade, but if you are already full premo , why not

      1. They’re saying Ross was sort of tagging him, but now trying to go to Steele. Think it has made a slight difference already

        1. yeah it didnt look like he was being tagged at all … he’s just made no efforts at hunting the ball at all from what I’ve been watching … and he’s been missing balls all day … not going for hard balls and not prepared to put his body in at all … he’s really off his game

  6. Got Draper at R3 and had to pick between fielding the big O or switching him to F7 and playing Xerri at R2 hoping for the loop hole to trigger.

Decided to field Big O and watching him stink it up for 50 has been rather painful…

  7. My reliable boys in Lyons and Neale let me down this week especially with the C on Neale but hes been reliable basically every week so will have to forgive me. I wasn’t locked on him as C but Fyfe as VC didnt deliver so had to. At least I had Steele to offset some pain. Very poor round for me with barely any of my premos tonning up. Need Nic Nat, Haynes and whitfield on top of Grundy and SImpkin all to save my round

    1. Sucks dude, I took my VC score but I was going into Neale if it came to it.

Ross tagged him according to Fanfooty. Wouldn’t have picked that.

  9. I was projected for 2548 before my Neale debacle.
I was actually having a pretty good week.
Shame but as per above, couldn’t agree more that he has been an absolute stalwart on the Captaincy front all year.
    Can’t complain
