Game Chat – Collingwood v Essendon

Written by Motts on July 3 2020

Where and when: Friday 7:50pm at the ‘G.

Last time they met:

Friday August 23, 2019

Collingwood 10.16 (78) def Essendon 10.5 (65) at the ‘G.

What it means for Collingwood: After getting taken down by the Giants last week, the ‘Pies will be very keen to re-assert themselves as the team to beat. They would HATE having Port at the top of the ladder. Next thing, they’ll be demanding to wear the black and white prison bars again…

What it means for Essendon: An opportunity to put a disrupted fortnight behind them and get their season back on track.

Mottsy Watch: Will be watching to see if Ridley is the real deal after his 134 last week.

Mottsy’s Tip: Pies without Howe > Essendon without Zerrett & Heppell. Collingwood by 30.

  1. if Clarko was coaching the Bombers he would be swinging the magnets , changing the game style & pulling something really special out of the hat
it’s time to see how deep Worsfold’s hat goes

      1. no 1 player in the comp though
which keeper premium would you trade in with 15 million to spend after trading in ridley

        1. I’m aware he is number one, you just shouldn’t spend 760k on anyone ever. Grab a fallen or underpriced promo. Bont, Danger, Mitchell, Oliver. Get Neale later when he drops closer to 600k.

          1. As I may have said before, it’s a delicate balance of price versus points.
            …….oh yeah, and luck(injuries).

  4. Magpies should never have played Cox with the wet weather tonight, a late change with Noble in would have made a lot more sense.

    1. Will continue doing the scores GB, but won’t be happy unless the Pies start playing with a bit more intensity.

  9. Maynard and Ridley really rubbing my nose in the fact I chose Caleb Daniel over them both. Begging Daniel does well this weekend to make me feel better!

  10. Ridley lacks confidence outside his role/routine……well within kicking distance, but straight away was looking to give it to someone as if it wasn’t his job to shoot for goal.
    Wighty…and other bombers…..watayrekon(?)

  11. At 3/4 time Grundy on 110 and Phillips on 79

Sort of feel they should be the other way round.

    Phillips has been pretty good

      1. Lol……. spoken like a true pies supporter .
The pies had extra players with whistles on the ground and still couldn’t win, they where rushed into every kick and where last to the ball on most occasions…lol
