Game Chat – Gold Coast vs St Kilda

Written by Huttabito on June 16 2018

WHERE AND WHEN: Metricon Stadium, Saturday, June 16, 4.35pm AEST

SUMMARY
In a match between arguably the two worst teams in the competition on current form, this contest holds so much intrigue for so many reasons. Gold Coast has lost eight of its past nine matches, including its past two by a combined 193 points, while the Saints haven’t snared a win since the opening round against Brisbane. The Suns lost to fellow expansion team Greater Western Sydney by 108 points last week and the Saints trailed by 48 against Sydney at quarter-time before losing by 71. Both clubs are at rock bottom. Not only has the future of Gold Coast been topical this week, but just where its co-captain Tom Lynch will play next year has been equally discussed. In the midst of a patchy season to date, just how Lynch responds against the Saints will be fascinating. For the visitors, they simply must improve. For a team that was expected to push for finals in 2018, it is rapidly heading towards the bottom of the ladder. Good luck picking a winner in this one.

  1. If there was ever greater proof that we should not fight global warming, but embrace it, burn everything and eliminate all life on earth…

Then it is this game. Humanity is done, my friends.

  2. I’m tipping a slight upset here.

Not because the Gold Coast is going particularly well, but I just think St. Kilda is a lot worse.

    Suns by 30.

  3. Webster is out for the day! Looks like a right groin issue or abductor.

other news: Billings playing around the ground and has acquired 9 possies already and up to 29 points. Shows what happens when played in position!

  5. Billings….11 touches, 3 inside 50’s, 2 tackles & a goal assist for 39 SC points!

Including 2 clangers, that could of been 50!

Be of 77 & only $317k, could seriously become f7 at this rate!

  6. Quick question fellow Sc lovers. My VC is Fyfe obviously want to take his score as my captain, loopholing a player on bye, will that have the same effect as a standard zero score from a non playing player from any other week???

    1. Everything I’ve heard internally from Carlton is that there is zero chance of Bolton getting sacked.

  7. A lower-grade hamstring injury for Jack Macrae, meanwhile, will see him miss the next three to four weeks.

  9. Wow. When it only becomes a great game because someone gets flogged when 5 goals up in the last term… your defense sucks.

Still lucky to pull that kick off.

No real winners from that game, even if it was exciting at the end.
