Game Chat – North v Sydney

Written by Motts on June 20 2020

Where and when: Colonial Stadium, Saturday 20 June 2020 • 1:45 PM (AEST)

Last time they met:

May 18, 2019

Sydney 11.11 (77) def North 10.12 (72) in Hobart.

What it means for North: Rhyce Shaw will be itching to win his first game coaching against his old team and keep his side’s undefeated streak going.

What it means for Sydney: The Swans will be looking to get back in the winner’s circle after losing a close one at home to The Bombres last week.

Mottsy Watch: Isaac Heeney – will the kid bounce back from his 60 last week after scoring 152 in R1? (Mottsy hopes not because he doesn’t have him)

Mottsy’s Tip: North by 15 points.

    1. Given the way this weekend is going so far, you should absolutely take the points. Max might have a big game but it’s just not worth the risk.

    2. My slight concern is if i take dunkley’s score I will cop a 0 if Rivers is a late out on Sunday. But it’s unlikely so ill take the 128

    3. Usually 120 plus is what you keep. Your potential captain may score 150 and you’d lost a potential 22 points, but it could end up being like Whitfield scoring 8 points. Therefore a loss of 120 points.
That is when you consider is it worth taking the risk. Does it offer enough reward for the potential loss that could occur?

  1. Ha ha..

    McInerney out…

Now that means I’m down to bare bones Tyler Brown at M8 this week. If there’s anymore midfield late outs I’m eating donuts.

I thought parking Dusty on the midfield bench was a good idea!

    What next ?

  2. Hayden Mclean 265k ruckman, wonder how he will go. This could be interesting for when Naismith returns

    1

    2
    1. He’s just there to support Sinclair against Goldy. Naismith will come straight back in for McLean when fit.

      1. According to AFL site Sinclair named as FF with Mclean as the ruckman. I wonder how much the workload will be split between them

    2. If you still have Naismith this was the round to get him out. IMO Naismith to Pittonet is a nobrainer trade.

      1. Not if you had the coverage and other rookies to grab… I had Cameron R3 I have ceglar F3 so I was happy to hold Naismith a week to grab rivers and Sturt

  3. When is the AFL going to stop coaches with naming players and then these late late outs?? …

From a SC perspective (yes, not real life I know – but surely the same applies – betting etc? ) and this year in particular, this is becoming ridiculous …

PS – love ya work Chillo!!

  4. Does anyone know where I can find in my Supercoach team, what trades I have done? I’m sure it used to be located on the tabs at the My Team Tracker?

    1. Go to my team. Then from there you should see the field, list and history tabs. Click history then on the right side of the page there is league results and trade history.
That is where you find trade history on PC

For the mobile app, go to my team and then click the field tab underneath your salary. Go to history, then at top right corner click the arrow, then click the trade history tab

  5. This round if you have 22 players on field you should be lucky. The lesson for me, never do you trades before lockout. I cannot change…

    1. ouch … i’m madly scrambling and thanking my lucky stars the missus didn’t want to drive up the sunshine coast today!!

Should also say, I chose to sit on the Dusty and Kelly outs … should also say, gave myself an uppercut last night for starting Kelly, even after i wrote the articles at start of season comparing average and total points and recommended against him!!!

    1. They withdrew him to help take on Goldstein it seems. If it was due to injury i’d assume they wouldn’t bring in a ruckman to replace him

      4

      0
      1. yeah – that’s what I’m hoping – could have traded him out and brought Budarick up and brought in cameron … for a $37K increase – just hope he’s back in next week with a -38BE …

    2. I was expecting something like this Thursday.
I didn’t think McInerney was originally going to be selected.

  6. Should I take 50 from picket last night or roll the dice with brown now Mcerney is out.
    Tu..brown
    Rd… picket 50

    5

    1
    1. I’m taking the 50. Got the same problem.

I don’t mind Brown on the bench, but he is handball happy, which isn’t great for supercoach.
thus for 6 kicks and 17 handballs for the season.

  9. Mclean started off really well, being treated as a tall forward with 60% TOG. Seeing in the stats Sinclair has 5 hitouts and McCartin with 1. So will he spend any time in the ruck???

  10. Lloyds score just jumped from 43 to 55 while that score review was on – no involvements – last involvement was a kick to top of 50 metre line not marked, not over 40 metres … and his DE dropped from 72 to 66 at the same time .. and King got nothing last week, for taking a mark, kicking it 40 metres well inside the 50 which was brought to ground and a goal resulted ..that will do me ….

    1. Heeney almost had 0 that quarter and after that Curtis Taylor comment, he jumped up slightly in points. Maybe if you say it more often he will score a tonne 😉

      1. looks like it worked on Heeney Nato – 4 kicks and one goal and he’s gone up 56 points thus far in this quarter … should also say, they have moved the tag of pittard off him and Hayden on him … big mistake North!

  13. Random observations:

I think I’ve seen enough – Simpkin comes in this week.

The ARC is having a shocker.

Jake Lloyd is an infuriating player when I don’t own him.

Jordan Dawson is one of the best kicks in the AFL.

Goldstein is a perfectly viable alternative to Grundy or Gawn. He’s killing it.

  14. Glad i opted to start with Goldy so far. Grundy + goldy has gone ok so far.

And the VC on him also

I put BZT on the field. Make him captain. Then make rivers my E in Def? So goldy gets the C and i get the E scores of Rivers?
