Game Chat – North v West Coast

Written by Motts on September 17 2020

Where and when: Metricon, 7:10pm (AEST)

Last time they met: R19 2019, West Coast 18.13 (121) DEF North 10.12 (72)

What it means for The Kangas: With Adelaide unexpectedly getting the W against Carlton, there is a very real chance North could finish bottom of the ladder if they get belted this week. What the hell happened to The Roos this year?

What it means for The Eagles: Top 4 looks out of reach now for West Coast with Richmond and Geelong both playing relatively easy opponents this week (Adelaide and Sydney respectively). With 5th or 6th on the ladder sewn up they’ll be looking to get through the match unscathed.

Motts Watch: I don’t think Rhyce Shaw is the type of bloke to tank but the #1 draft pick can be very, very tempting. I’ll be looking for 100% effort from The Roos.

  1. T/D … Thoughts on Gaff as VC? Steele gets Deboer, Neale gets Curnow and I don’t have Macrae.

Or T/U – Gawn VC into Lloyd C

  2. Need to use a trade on Doc later in the round.
Should I use my other trade on Cogs to T.Kelly tonight?

TU – Trade Cogs to T.Kelly now!
TD – Save the trade for later in the round

  3. Should I put Simpkin on my forward bench as emergency? If he goes ok, I can throw Mosquito on the field and bench Riccardi ?

    TU: Bench Simpkin
TD: Just leave Riccardi as emergency – Simpkin should score higher and then have an emergency if any other forward is out.

  7. And I wasn’t far from trading Simpkin this week after what he did for me last week. Glad I stuck with him and saved my trades for other potential scenarios

  8. Simpkin on bench as E
Wish this performance was last week as I wouldn’t have traded in Wingard .
Ironically may be stuck with Wingard if Foot is named .
Who knows with season 2020 .
Another premium could be rested with finals around the corner .

  9. Has anyone with both Hurn and Simpkin in their team ever been so happy?

Thanks boys. Putting the hard yards in for the gf.

  10. Gotta say I’m pleasantly surprised with my two players in Hurn and Simpkin tonight! If I had any trades left they could have both been gone…
