Game Notes: There’s so much at stake for Port Adelaide here. In front of the home crowd, they simply have to put in a good showing. Boak, Gray and Wines will be extremely important in the midfield combating the likes of Dangerfield and Selwood. This one promises to be a cracker.

The 6 Points

1. The Cats have dominated the Power over a long period of time, winning 11 of the last 12, and with 10 consecutive wins from 2007-13 including the 2007 Grand Final.

2. The teams have played twice at Adelaide Oval for one win each, while the Cats have also defeated the Crows at the venue.

3. Port Adelaide and Geelong will meet for the 30th time and the Cats hold a clear advantage, winning 19 games to nine with one draw.

4. Geelong defeated Port Adelaide the last time they met, winning by 23 points in round 11, 2015 at Adelaide Oval. Corey Enright was best on ground with 29 disposals.

5. Did you know Geelong has played eight times in their history on a Saturday night in Adelaide for only two wins? This will be the Catsโ€™ first Saturday night game in Adelaide since 2009.

6. Superstar Patrick Dangerfield makes his return to Adelaide Oval this weekend, having crossed to Geelong from the Crows late last year.

MJโ€™s tip: Geelong by 12

  4. Don’t know what’s wrong with Robbie Gray. Only six touches near the end of the 3rd qtr and playing mostly forward……..

  5. I have a real problem with the supporters leaning over the fence swearing and abusing the players. If you acted like that in public you would be arrested.
Would not have blamed Dangerfield to gave had a go back.

  9. Well done to the Cats, but Port are looking very ordinary. If they can’t beat Richmond or Brisbane in the next two weeks then Hinkley might be out of a job?

Game Chat – Port Adelaide v Geelong

Written by Thommo on June 12 2015

It’s difficult to get a read on Geelong: One week they are slaughtered by the Eagles and the next they teach the Bombers a football lesson. Port on the other hand seem to be gradually rediscovering their lost mojo and will be looking to continue their mid-season revival at home. Win this one and Geelong are a still a force, but it seems more likely that the strong Port midfield will tear them apart.

Thommo’s tip: Port by 34 points.

  1. Quick help SC’ers!

I’ll only have 17 on the field because of McKenzie not making the final team.

Should I T/U tank this round and not base my trades on this weeks requirement.
T/D roll the dice with 17 (and making three trades to achieve that)

Opponent in my cash league has 17 players this week before any trades!

    Quick edit with extra info:
I would have 12 premos this week with 3 trades
    Opponent 11 before trades

  7. Just a warning – Blake Caracella gave a very vague response to Clark’s injury. Reading between the lines, I wouldn’t expect him back before the bye

  14. Selwood stars in Interview with a vampire, Jesus Christ! if he hadn’t had to go off so much with the blood rule he would have got the ton. Bench rotation rule for Selwood, Keep him on until he bleeds.
