Sit down, put your feet up and grab your favourite beverage, because all three of this afternoon’s matches have massive ramifications for the make-up of the 6-8th placings. With a fair bit riding on my cash league tipping comp (currently 1 tip behind first), unfortunately my tips will have to remain undisclosed for R22 & 23. Instead I’ll give the knowledgeable community of SCT a shot of picking the winners.
North Melbourne v Adelaide – The Crows arrive at Blundstone Arena for the very first time today. A win for Adelaide today would all but secure a place in the top 8, with a match against the Saints at Adelaide Oval almost undroppable final hurdle in R23. A loss would open the door for the chasing pack. With a game against Melbourne next week, the Roos look to have 6th spot wrapped up and definitely have less riding on this individual result. Nevertheless, they will want to win, and win well for their Tasmanian supporters and to bring some good momentum heading into finals.Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
Essendon v Gold Coast – If the Suns are to make a last ditch effort for 8th place, it has to be now. The Bombers aren’t 100% certainties to hold their finals spot, but the chance is there to just about nail it down with a win today. Dyson Heppell has been massive in recent weeks, and is a big loss for the Dons, but there’s a reason why they’re still heavy favourites here.Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
GWS v Collingwood – Two wins for Collingwood still give the injury-ravaged side a chance for 8th spot, but they really do seem to be limping to the line with just two victories from their last 8 and have Hawthorn to contend with next week. The 16th placed Giants have had three wins in the same period and are coming off a massive thumping of Melbourne.Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
