Game Chat – Saturday Night Football, R21 2014

Written by Big Sexy on August 16 2014

Collingwood v Brisbane (MCG):  The Pies have run into some recent form, though had a hic-up last week, and coming up against a lack luster Brisbane.  Should be a no brainer, pies by 42.

Adelaide v Richmond (AO): This is a real 50/50.  Probably not a lot of finals interest in these two but should be a cracker regardless.  As it’s their home game, Crows by 7.

  1. Ffs Pendles? Seriously? He was still listed in the afl lineups 20 minutes before the game! Would have switched captain to fyfe! F&$k!

  3. Pendles late out with a quad means i’ve got a doughnut. Most importantly, any news on whether he is at risk for next week.
Tony Armstrong went from 2nd or 3rd emergency to late sub & playing his second game for the day after Ben Reid came off after 4 minutes. Poor lad will be knackered.

  8. Ahhhh FFS, what a disastrous end to a season … will pretty much be all over in most of my leagues, although still in the main one having the bye this week.

Injuries and “resting” players just a killer to what was a pretty good year for me in my second year. Honestly, there should be some sort of rules in the comp to not allow players to be named and then “pulled out” at the last minute. Either that or in the SC there should be some sort of automatic score that everyone gets when that occurs.

I’m sure there will be many detractors to that comment … but I’m not sure how much interest / revenue this SC caper generates for the game, the Sun and so on, but this really does add a sour note to the fans (like us silly buggers playing this game!!). Not to mention how the actual supporters of the clubs, that pay good money to attend matches, only to find out that their players are missing!!

There was a post here earlier in the year by someone (forget who it was) basically having a go at another “poster” who was complaining about same … basically he was saying “you’re not a very good SC coach if you don’t plan … luck isn’t a factor …” etc. Well, I think all of the last two days events should clearly show that it doesn’t matter how good you plan / select … we are all just at the mercy of luck and many many other factors, other than picking good players!!

Been a good year again … many thanks to all you guys that run this site, really enjoy all you do and all the “info sharing”!! Keep it up lads!!
