SUMMARY
Not much is going right at St Kilda and things don’t get any easier with Greater Western Sydney sure to pose a stern challenge. By Saints coach Alan Richardson’s own reckoning, too many of his players are out of form. At 1-3, their season isn’t over, but their finals chances are slipping away, so they need to improve quickly. The midfield has been inconsistent and while the numbers looked reasonable last week, Richardson believed his side was overwhelmed by Geelong’s physicality, and that could again be an issue considering some of the Giants’ personnel. Callan Ward, Dylan Shiel and Stephen Coniglio โ€“ who has quietly had an excellent start to the season โ€“ form an onball unit that is tough to play against, so Jack Steven and Seb Ross will need to be at their best and ensure their side is competitive from the opening bounce.

Thommo’s Tip:ย GWS by 30 points.

        1. Done a double and gone Kelly and Billings to Cogs and Gray.

Knowing my trade history it’ll probably mean:
Billings will get 30 and kick 5
Cogs will get tagged every week
Kelly will return next week and be BOG
Gray will become a defensive tagger

  5. Far out Billings is bloody useless! Doesn’t spend any time in the mid and when saints get the ball foward his never there! Nothing player. Just runs around aimlessly

Id take 70 from him at this rate.

    1. He’s actually working pretty hard, but what I don’t understand is why you would put such a shocking kick at goal in the forward line. He’s perfectly suited to the midfield, why not play him there?

      1. Spot on Chillo. He has ZERO confidence in front of the sticks at the moment and historically has a poor conversion rate. I think he would benefit from running around in the midfield and just get his hands on the ball. I had McLean in all preseason, but ended up going with Billings because he was ‘safer’ pick haha. Good old hindsight!

  8. Gee the kicking for goal at Etihad is shocking!

Roof closed today so no excuses…total of 13 goals & 25 behinds???

In 9 & 3/4 of games at Etihad in 2018
    236 goals
    260 behinds

The game evolves every year, but the goal kicking seems to be getting worst & worst each season!

  9. Wow, what a finish. They are all absolutely spent. Carlise will have nightmares about that dropped mark at the end.

Very awkward 116 (VC) score for Cogs.

    1. One of the best parts of SC. We’ve all now got 20 mins to weigh that very important decision up! I reckon it would be 50/50 of the people who had him as VC will take it.

    2. Yeah, I’m not sure I can make myself take that. 120 I would have. Feel like Fyfe hosting the Dogs is my best shot, not that comfy with Titch this week. Dusty still tempting….

      1. Titch and Jacobs. Dusty has played FF the last 2 weeks with very little mid time. It’s hard. Fyfe could be worth the roll in dice.

        1. Out of Fyfe, Danger and Gawn for me.

Thinking the punt on Gawn as a POD captain. With danger under injury cloud i think fyfe is the best bet!

            1. Had Cogs VC. Oliver for me now. I think he’s going to rack up the touches this week. I own Nank the Tank as well but I think he will be well beat by the athleticism of Gawn so the taps should be there for Oliver to get some steady clearance and CP work.

      2. Cogs had v and orlango c……switched c to zerret so I can see all the games this weekend and then deside. Fyfe so tempting but oppt doesn’t have him so still happy to see him go big.

    1. First time I’ve ever picked Buddy, let alone from the season start. It’s only served to reaffirm why, and so probably the last. Heeeeeeeeeeeney. First year I haven’t had you. I miss you ;(
