Game Chat – St Kilda vs Sydney

Written by Huttabito on June 9 2018

WHERE AND WHEN: Etihad Stadium, Saturday, June 9, 7.25PM AEST

The struggles continue at the Saints, who are yet to win since round one. While Alan Richardson’s side has shown improved form recently, including scaring ladder-leaders West Coast with a late surge last week, coming up against Sydney poses a huge challenge. Not because the Swans are at their absolute peak – they’re not – but John Longmire’s men have the wood over St Kilda with wins in the past eight clashes. Their formidable midfield group has dominated over the past few years but captain Josh Kennedy hasn’t been his usual consistent self while Dan Hannebery is down on form. However, not many of the Saints’ onballers pose great fears, although Jack Steven’s attempts to will his side over the line each week have been admirable. Ultimately, St Kilda’s defence has been decimated by injury and suspension, with skipper Jarryn Geary the latest to be sidelined, so that will be a tough hurdle to overcome.

  2. Another St. Kilda game on TV? Well, this should be a close one 😛

Big prediction: yet more whinging in the media next week about the quality of the game as a spectacle, insisting that we need to change this rule or that rule.

Because clearly, this has nothing whatsoever to do with the AFL putting crap teams in primetime slots. No, it’s definitely the rules that are at fault.

  3. Heeney seems to be on my bench in the gameday when he is on field in my team…am I the only one experiencing this? Comment please

    1. I’m experiencing the same thing, as is my opponent, and I’ve read the same thing is happening to others for different players. I’d say it’s just a glitch so don’t stress.

      1. SuperCoach (actually Sportsdeck) has been having lots of little issues this week.

For example, it will list two different prices for a player – the correct one underneath their name when you search for them, plus a completely wrong one in their profile (e.g. Clayton Oliver is $553,800, but his profile currently lists him at $612,800).

  4. warned you guys about Austin , 50 pt career av before he went to the Saints , in the 2 games with the saints , both his FWDs went down early & only 3 contested possessions in those 2 games ..
