Game Chat – West Coast V Brisbane

Written by Thommo on March 27 2016

Venue: Domain Stadium at 7.40pm

Last Time They Met:

R4, 2015 – West Coast 17.16 (118) d Brisbane Liona 9.11 (65) at the Gabba

Best SC in last match:

  • West Coast – Rosa 142, Butler 130, Kennedy 109, Priddis 99
  • Brisbane – Martin 140, Golby 99!, Redden 91, Zorko 88 (a worry that only one of these players is available today!)

Key Outs:

  • West Coast – Chris Masten, Mitch Brown, Dom Sheed, Lewis Jetta
  • Brisbane – Dayne Beams, Dayne Zorko (susp).

Game notes: After a tough 2015, this is not the game the Lions would have wanted to start the year. With Zorko suspended and Beams out for weeks the Lions will be praying for a big game from new recruits Bell, Walker and Bastinac and top draft pick Josh Schache. To add insult to injury, Brisbane could have used Redden who is now playing for the opposition.

Coming off a painful Grand Final loss, West Coast will look to start 2016 fast. They are also missing key players but that shouldn’t stop the Eagles from easily overpowering Brisbane at the House of Pain. It will be interesting to see how Yeo plays in the midfield today after a disappointing pre-season.

Thommo’s Tip: West Coast by 48 points.

  1. Gotta say I like the structure of your intros Thommo. In particular, the inclusion of “best SC in last match”. Keep up the good work.

  6. If Yeo can jump into the 80s and Rocky into the 90s this game won’t be a total disaster.

Except for the fact I don’t have Priddis! ATM that seems like an oversight but as I’ve been reminded a few times this weekend, it’s a marathon not a sprint.

  8. 2215 before Danger. I wasn’t happy b4 tonight’s game with a few of my choices and I was spewing for having GAJ as VC without fixing the loophole… Then there comes 911 ( 9 NicNat and 11MP)! Priddis as captain…loving it! Hopefully Danger scores as projected (at least)
