Looks a bit above par looking at other scores in my leagues, although I have seen a couple of 2300’s. 11 premo’s scored under 100 and I should’ve played Witherden over Greenwood, but pretty happy overall.

  2. 2,160/Z.Merrett

    So glad I wasted a trade of Rockliff (66) to Z.Merrett (67).

Enough to win 8/10 leagues, gone are the days of 2,400+ this time of year.

    1. I was so impressed with your Bontempelli Captaincy, Hutta, and then I discovered you made a late change for Merrett! If I had remembered to swap Witherden on to the field for Rocky it would have cost you a win!

Shocking week with very few positives.

Heroes: Howe, Adams, Bont, Fyfe, Gawn

Spuds: JPK, Buddy, Shaw, Jelwood, Rocky, Hurn, Dahl, Sloane, Greenwood, Yeo, Nank.

Worst part about it is that it cost me finals in one league and top 4 in another. partially my own fault as I wanted to loophole Nank with Daniher in my forward line but I failed to realise that obvioulsy thats impossible if my non play Eddy has his game before then. meant Daniher’s 113 was stuck on my bench. was planning on switching Greenwood with Daniher as well as it would have been a POD in my main league however i only logged onto my team 8 minutes past the lockout today. Scharenberg put up a good score but him being named ruined my loophole and i ended up going with Shaw over Witherden.

Very shitty week and very annoyed that it is largely my own fault.

Unbelievably 6 league wins. I left 3 tons on the bench (Ryan 136, Witherden 103, and Lynch 113) realistically would’ve just been Lynch for Greenwood which would’ve netted an extra 60 odd points. Not sure whether I’ll improve in rankings as there werea lot of ordinary scores.

    1. UPDATE: Now ranked 7775 (was 4932).

Only 1/10 league wins. On the bright side, I made the top 8 in 6 of them, including 1 minor premiership.

All in all, this was an abysmal week for The Salamander.

11 players cracked the ton , but too many low scores , at least my misery is over
no finals this year. Buddy and JPK personified my season , every week a couple or more premos just didn’t fire. All the best to everyone in final series.
I am coming back hard next season!

This was the week I chose to not have Danger and put the C on Gaz as his lowest score against the Tiger is 120 – alas a last minute withdrawal meant going back but it could have been worse as everyone basically had the C on Danger so kinda equals out.

Big Max and Dusty on debut got me through to 8/8 wins for only the second time this season, along with gun scores from Adams, Ryder and Bont.

How about that Crow comeback, not a win but at least not a Pie win either!!

  7. 2261 – Danger

13 tons but still left a 100pts out there and , had a few spud scores from JPK 50 injured , Greenwood 51 , Shaw 55 as well as Selwood 65.

Won 9 out of 10 League Matches including 3 must win and only lost to Jock Reynolds team by 7pts which didn’t cost me anything in that weak League. Made 7 out of 10 major finals finishing no lower than 6th.

  8. 27 disposals and 2 marks with 12 tackles. 1.0 goal. 70% efficency. Only 86 SC pts.

Is Treloar getting a rough deal?

      1. 6 goals 4 for Kennedy and once again doesn’t crack the ton, surely he was more influential in the game than Witherden who did crack the ton?

      2. It must be the clangers hurting , as the handball count didn’t affect
Oliver or Fyfe , not by any means am I criticising their great games.

  9. 2234 with Danger. Finished 7th in cash league despite 2nd most points overall. Got 4 trades left so I’ll be using 2 this week. Couldn’t loophole Witherden or Ryan, bit annoying but I’ve had worse things happen this season

  10. 1913/ 1 Donut/ Dangerfield

T Goldstein, M Priddis missed but had adequate cover for them and traded S Pendlebury for Z Merrett. Moved J Lloyd into the mids on Friday to cover a potential G Ablett late out but J Lloyd was a late withdrawal and was unable to switch him back to the backline thus copping a donut.

Z Merrett joins the club of M Bontempelli (RD9), L Dahlhaus (RD12), G Ablett (RD13) and T Nankervis (RD18) all to severely underperform when brought in.

My 6th sub 2000 score of the year in comparison to only 4 2200+.

Only 8 100+’s (T Lynch, N Fyfe, S Docherty, P Dangerfield, M Bontempelli, J Macrae, T Adams and A Witherden) with the remainder of players 85 and below.
    J Kennedy, H Shaw, Z Merrett, L Franklin, J Selwood, L Dahlhaus and K Simpson all dipping below 80.

    Bring on 2018!

75% wrong captain for weeks in, weeks out
25% correct captain & not having Dangerfield in my side, trying to differ from majority of other coaches, actually my majority of my team is pod,
Goodluck to all finalists & top rankers, you guys
& girls deserve it, l really need to do homework for 2018, cheers

What an awful week, so many spuds, very few heroes.

HEROES: Billings, Hurley, Adams, Fyfe, Danger, Dusty, Lynch

SPUDS: Hanners, Heeney, JPK, Hibberd, Roberton, Jelwood, Nank, Witts, Dahl, Laird, Treloar, Yeo.

  13. 2141 – Danger – 5K

For a relatively decent rank and having a full premo team, this would have to be the consistently lowest scoring year I’ve ever experienced.

Adequate! 12 tons including Ryan and Witherden was nice. Still too many underperforming premiums but can’t complain too much this week.

  15. 2344 / Bont / 24th up to 11th

Happy in the end as didn’t feel like I was going that well this round. Finished strong today with Howe and Adams scoring big. Risking Bont as captain when danger didn’t go huge worked out and got me just a few extra points which is extremely important up at this ranking. Hopefully push into top 10 soon and have a crack at some cash!

Only Sloane could go from my highest scorer last week to the lowest this week

Shout out to Adams on debut and Withers for scoring more than Lloyd probably would have

  17. Congrats to all the big scorers this week … horrendous week of scores. I only managed 2039 yuk!

Towelled up by Schwarzy in the Contribs league … can’t believe Sloane can score 160 one week than 36 the next … pathetic!

Made all my league top 8’s with a couple of 1sts, but realistically am in trouble in most leagues I think … too many inconsistent so called guns like Sloane in my side!!

Good luck all in the finals!!

  18. 2242 / Danger, which I thought was a fairly crap score but seems to be there abouts this week. 11 tons, and was thankfully able to loop hole T Lynch’s score from the bench. Happy with my choice of trading out Nank instead of Lynch to Ryder. Disappointed with scores from Merrett, J Selwood, Treloar, Dahl & Heeney, and Shaw continues to frustrate me. He is GONE this week. Jumped up 540 places to 2770 overall, 5/6 league wins and through to finals in all 6.

Good riddance to this absolute train wreck of a season. No finals & worst overall position since I first started playing.
I have no idea what the stats would be on this, but I’d say the winning overall total will be much lower than in previous years.
How the leaders are averaging 2200+ per week has got me stuffed, with so many erratic players & so called premiums constantly spudding it up.

  20. Score: 2110
    Weekly Rank: 45024
    Overall Rank: 20097 (19397)
Heroes: Adams, Fyfe, Bontempelli, Beams, Gawn, Witherden
    Villains: Selwood, Rockliff, Shaw
Trades Made: Cameron (SYD) and Pendlebury to Young (WB) and Selwood
    Trades Planned: Probably none.
    Trades Left: 5

    Trades: 2/10

I decided to trade Darcy Cameron out simply because he was just about useless for loopholing for the rest of the season; I have lost the Nank R-F link but I was really loopholing Nank and Greenwood at F6 anyway, so I probably haven’t lost too much there. Not get Joelwood last week came back to bite as I paid about $30k more for a measly 65 points – although at least I didn’t get Sloane.

I did have about $120k in the bank so I could’ve gone up, but I figured Joelwood was A: Still good value and B: The trade would keep $$$ handy for future trades.

    Defence: 6/10

Adams was very good, Witherden again stood up and performed, Docherty was good for anyone else but below his high standards, Laird and McDonald were below par; Shaw was awful and I didn’t notice Lloyd was a late out.

    Midfield 4.5/10

Lloyd being out meant I swung Witherden down back; if I had been able to keep Pendlebury then I would’ve been able to push Rockliff to M9 had Zorko not been suspended; as it was, my depth was tested. Bontempelli, Beams and Fyfe stood up. Dangerfield, as VC, ended an extraordinary run of scores; just on the same week as his leadership partner Zorko gets suspended; such is my luck. Treloar was meh; Rockliff and Selwood were awful and Treloar was meh.

    Rucks: 5.5/10

Gawn did nicely to play after some question marks over his availability earlier in the week; and I got the Witts v Nankervis onfield decision right.

    Forwards: 4/10

Macrae was the only ton and he just made it; I put the C on JJK and lost 11 points on my Dangerfield VC, but 97 isn’t awful. Yeo continues his run of scores under 100 without being truly terrible. Heeney was off the beat and Dahlhaus reverted to terrible. It was annoying that Young didn’t do well and Greenwood was very poor; hopefully he’ll perform next week as he’s basically my F6 now.

    Overall: 4.5/10

    Comments:

This week I just did things listlessly; I haven’t even bothered checking my leagues; I’m probably only in finals in ones that don’t really matter. My season has been bad; my team has more holes than Swiss cheese, and I honestly hammer more holes when I’m trying to make repairs.

Tough season this. Lloyd, Gaz & Riewoldt outs did not help.

Goal now is to check which league finals I’ll be in and navigate them as best as can with 2 trades and $200k.

Meh. Big let down after last week.

    Best: Martin /Adams/ Fyfe /Ryder.

Worst: Sloane/ Kennedy/ Greenwood. and 4 scores in the 60’s

    6/9 league wins.

Made finals in 8/9 Leagues. Top 4 in 5.

    Bring on next week.
