Won my main league by 7 points after switching my C from Danger to Buddy. Very happy with 3 GF wins and only lost my minor premiership.

    Macrae
    Parker
    Buddy
    Ryder

  4. 2465/Danger/was 1045

Won 6/6 major grannies and the one minor in LEEUWIN2.

Three highest scores of the season in weeks 1,3,4 of the finals was always keeping me on the front foot. Checked scores in all 7 leagues and only 3 guys got over 2400 (inc a massive 2534 from Balls and All – great stuff Dave), so a nice finish would be to sneak into the top 1000 at the death knell!
Great scores from 12 tons inc Bud, Danger, Dusty, Zerrett, Ryder and Fyfe over 120, and a massive shout out to Withers for tanning up to cover Bont, and Ryan beating Harbrow which wasn’t supposed to be hard.

Big stage fright awards to Max, Hibberd, Dahl, Laird, Yeo, Heeney and Lloyd.

Good feeling to win all the finals, but even better participating against all the folk on this site, and taking part in the blogs and exchanges.

    What do we do now??

  5. The TEAM

    2312 / Danger

Copped a zero in the FWD line with Greenwood out so that score is quite impressive considering. Lost our only GF (minor) by 40pts as a result. Bugger……..
Will write up all TEAM League results during the week as well as TEAM Season Summary………

  6. 2220 with Dangerfield as captain. Rotten way to finish the year. Lost the only final I was in by 42 points to someone with a donought.

Defining moment this week was trading Tom Lynch (Ade) in over Charlie Dixon. Dixon would have won it for me.

All I can say is that there’s always next year. Big thanks to everyone on this site for their insightful analysis and comments.

Won five majors and three nuffy’s. Unfortunately missed the 8 in Catta’s league and sct1.
Hopefully improve overall ranking from 3000 something

  8. 2301 Danger
Won 4/6 which included SCT Chicks League & SCT2.

Deciding to field Heath Shaw after his 106 last week instead of Witherden meant I copped his useless 50 and Witherdens 104 was left on the bench. So lost The Team@SCT1 league by 47 points to Sean’s Mob – congrats Sean! Not having D Martin hurt too.

Needed a couple of extra touches from Laird or Sloane to break the 2600 but won both GF I made so very happy with that

  10. Nice! I won the Grand Final of my Friends league!

    2341/Dusty/Ranked 13kish heading in.

Knocked one goal off my list for this year!

Another big goal for the year was to finish in the top 10k. Don’t reckon my score will be high enough to boost me up enough. Over the past 7 weeks or so I’ve jumped up and down in rankings by about 200(+/-) spots. I’ve been stuck on 13k for a while. The consistency to hold at that spot has been awesome, considering I’ve never really dropped too much, but I’ve lacked the really massive weeks to blow out the competition a bit.

Anyways, what a crazy year it has been! I’m proud I’ve survived as much as I did given the fact that there was so much Carnage this year. Super happy about the big win tonight. There will be new goals in place for 2018!

Thanks to y’all for this. You’ve taught me a great deal about the history and the future of this beautiful sport!

  12. 2455/Danger/122 overall (up 71 from last round)
This week was really a make or break week, luckily made a few right decisions including benching the Bont and trading out Roberton last minute to take Witherdens score. Didn’t crack the top 100, but honestly can’t be mad, has been a great year. Big thanks to everyone on the site who has helped me along the way

I managed to stay in the top 10! Very happy. Prize money was never something I even thought about playing this great game so a very nice added bonus on top of an enjoyable season.

Things went well for me this week in a pretty tight sort of round where the top 10 rankings might have come down to people with buddy vs people without. I also avoided the few commonish guys who had shockers.

Great work everyone who played this year. Also thank you to all the writers on this site and the coaches commenting etc. It is great having this site to visit during the week to keep SuperCoach alive while we wait for the actual games to start each round.

Won 2/4 GF’s but lost my main cash one by 33 points. Had him on toast until Roberton scored 31 and Sloane scored 130.
Great year with plenty of ups and downs though. Pretty happy to finish in top 5k after being 30k+ before the bye rounds. The girlfriend will be happy it’s over haha

    1. By the way, the guys at CD do an alright job. But the amount of times they get it wrong is incredible. So many missed tackles, interpreting an efficient disposal etc. I can’t believe how much it varies from 1 analyst to another

  15. 2296/Danger/ Season rank: 40,295

An awful year filled with poor rookie selections and supposed durable and consistent premiums providing the opposite output. 7 Rounds under 2000 and 7 rounds above 2200.

Looking forward to the Big Bash fantasy competitions filling the SC void in the offseason.

And to reiterate “It has been an absolute honour, pleasure and privilege compiling and providing stats for SCT in 2017”.

By far the best SC site around and thankyou to the fellow SCT Contributors for continually churning out quality and top echelon material on a weekly basis.

Took out 7/7 finals including the cash league I was in and SCT3. Want to thank all the team here as well as all the posters throughout the season for the insight, information and even entertainment that you have shared. First time I have been in the top 10k and a big part of it is this site. Now onto cricket season/planing for next year haha

I made it off that feckin island! Final rank improved by 939.

Big thing was getting on the computer 15 minutes before the Friday match, seeing that Greenwood was out in time to reverse my Bont -> Beams trade. (which would have failed.) Then my computer died, and when I rebooted it went into a disk repair mode! Got on my phone and was able to trade out Wallis with maybe two minutes before the deadline, and lacking any time to think about who to bring in, I just grabbed Buddy, and for once the Supercoach Gods smiled upon me.

It turned out that my choice of McEvoy over Gawn was better that I thought after the first match.

I never even came close to fielding a full premium team. At some point I’ll write up a retrospective and see what lessons can be learned. I can’t really complain though, since this is my highest finish by a ways.

I’ll somehow have to occupy myself with the Fantasy Premier League and BBL while waiting for next season.

Not bad considering I went with a set and forget approach this year as living abroad.
    Highly recommend it !!

Playing bloody Shaw over witherden (with no loophole option) cost me the GF in money league but them the break was still good to get to play 4 grand finals

  22. 2337, danger, finished with a ranking of 1034.
My goal was to win my work cash league and finish in top 1000.
After choosing heath shaw over luke ryan I thought I was done in my league final. My oppenent needed his last two players to get 90 each. Luckily one of them was Roberton and I sneaked a win by 22 points.
But I missed out on top 1000 by 11 points, so choosing shaw did cost me, like it has cost me all year.

Managed to leave my highest scoring defender (Ryan) on the bench, which pretty much sums up this wretched season. Looking back at some of the trades I made this year, it’s clear I may need to lay off the sauce, even though I don’t remember drinking all that much?

I initially stuck rigidly to GnR and that didn’t help either. I really should have taken the mid-priced advice at the start of the year. Thanks everyone for a great season, see you again in 2018, when I will try once again to earn a LoEC spot!

  25. Scored 2344 which won 2 out of 5 GF’s.
Moved up slightly in the rankings to finish #281 which is a PB.

  26. Symbolic of my year , last player for the season ,JJK, was my worst scorer for the
round. Every time I felt a half decent score coming 3 or 4 premos would struggle.
Finished around 50k mark which is disappointing as I was hoping to improve
this year not go backwards . Lots to work on for next season.

This was one of my most shocking scores all season and it happened this week. Just shows how my team crumbled in the finals yet by some miracle I actually won a grand final.
Most sad thing was I was in the top 10k all season until this weekend ๐Ÿ™

  28. 2328 / Danger (C) / 3974

Highest season rank in now my third season of SC.

Managed to win my main cash league which is based on total points, and 3/4 grand finals was a sweetener. Despite a big fat donut in my forward line (Greenwood, Wallis, T. Lynch all out) thank you Buddy for your herculean effort.

  29. 2,436 / Dangerfield / 2,166th

Played in 7 GF’s over the weekend and won them all. Beat Big Sexy in my cash league to win $400 and another $100 for highest cumulative points total for the year (just edging out Thommo by 25 [0.005%]), beat Thommo in another two GFs: SCT Contributors and Father Dougal’s The Looney Mooneys), pleasingly beat Motts is Fat v7.0 in SCT8, beat Macca’s Marlins in SCT9, ZingerBurgerCombo in SCT6, and won Rehab’s Kensington Pizza league (which MUST win me a free pizza or two, right?).

All up it was my most successful year ever in SC and has justified 9 years of work at SuperCoachTalk.

Congrats to all our GF winners and thank you again for your patronage throughout the year.

There’ll be a post going up later today with all our prize winners but from here on in, the posts are going to be pretty sparse. Truth is, we’re all burnt out and need a break after a long season. Happy holidays everyone!

  30. Won both GFs – one major, one minor – with a 2453 (Danger VC) after using my final trades on Lynch (GC) to Billings and Young to Deluca in the prelim round.
Ended up on 11296 for the year and 2810 for the final round.
Worst trade: ‘mid pricer’ M Crouch to Rocky in Rd 13; after a run of average scores thought it was time to ‘upgrade’ ๐Ÿ˜
Best: tie between Jones to Martin in rd 10, Parsons (yep) over Black; Stewart for Withers Rd 15.

Thanks again for this SC refuge in a SC shizenstorm – the help here is very very generous and it’s very clear how much time you all put into it.

Final ranking of 18490.A big thanks to FreoTragic for his trade advice a couple of weeks ago and all those who make this site what it is.I was amazed at how differently i looked at the footy whilst playing supercoach!I wish everybody good luck and good health until next season, regards Pop.

  32. 2364 / Danger / 4329.

    2 from 4 GF wins.
    1 from 1 minor GF

As I don’t own Buddy I think thats a pretty good effort!

    GF best:

    Danger
    Dusty
    Zerrett
    Sloane
    Ward

    Worst

    J Kennedy WC
    Pickett
    And the 67 club..
    Dahl
    Gawn
    Hibberd

If I’d played Ryan over Laird , Lloyd or Hibberd I would of won another GF. ๐Ÿ™
    Woulda coulda shoulda.

My best trades this season were P Ryder in r10 after his bye. Also getting Dusty mid year for not much over $500K.

Worst trades were starting T Boyd ( after watching too many 2016 GF replays)
I also owned I Soldo for a brief period ( beer can make you do funny things).

Stoked I managed to finish inside the top 5K for the first time. A pre season goal of mine.

I would also like to thank all the great writers and punters on this awesome site.

I really was useless at SC until I discovered SCT. Thank you all for helping me lift my game.

So until next yearโ€ฆ See ya.

Happy with the overall season but finished awefully. My final 2 trades were horrendous and cost me2 GF’s. Won 1 out of 6 SCT3.
Looking forward to hopefully getting a place in LOEC next year.
