  1. 2150 gaz, probably fall from around 1800.
Had over 100 points on the bench with premiums spudding.
I’m looking at you Gibson, Houli…
and as for you Wingard, I can’t even bring myself to look at you.
Nice to see Wines and Barlow do something and big max Gawn, your a champ

    1. Major spuds include:
Gibson, Stef Martin, BenKen, Young (ouch… coulda got Lyons… still kicking myself)

Rance on debut, both for score and his little holiday.

BenKen and Stef Martin look like they may be leaving the nest this week.

    2. I missed your league this year mate( locked out of my news account email due to being tech tardo). Think we are in Catta’s league but you are safe this week

  2. 2156 – Dangerfield

HEROES – Danger, Goldy, Gawn, Pendles, Parker, Ablett, Kerridge, Byrne-Jones.

VILLAINS – New inductee Rance, Birchall, Fyfe, Bennedy.

Avoided a fair bit of carnage so will hopefully continue on whittling away at the top teams.

  3. 2308 – Goldy.

I love siddebottom so much right now. Had to outscore Zakka but 68 for me to win my cash league and he came through.

Almost made up for his suspension today!

Great work by Danger & Gawn. Plenty of others also did their bit.

Shame i did not have the Byrne brothers on the field rather than Dea & Tippa, but such is life. Dea’s score of 41 & lack of DPP status could see him move on for a top mid or forward.

Managed to knock off Motts in my main league which certainly was a surprise as he has a great team. I got lucky saturday night where his Fyfe & two others only matched my Gawn score of 160.

    1. Anyone else hoping that Tommy Sheridan will get more of a gig in the mids with Fyfe out? I want to stick with him until he at least tons up a few times & can justify an upgrade to a prem. Any reason for his past few ordinary scores? Is he still not 100% after his knock in round 2?

      1. Andy B – g’day!!

I don’t think Sheridan is much of a midfielder (ie he is a much better defender), therefore I think Ross will turn to blokes like Connor Blakely and the returning Mundy to fill the void left by Fyfe.

I think he also needs to give Weller and Crozier an extended run in the middle – to get a better idea on how good these guys can be.

As you know, it’s also hard to know who to upgrade to in defence at the moment – so it might be worth holding Sheridan a little while longer?

Simpson and Docherty are looking pretty solid, and I reckon KK will start to hit his straps soon. Houli should be getting cheaper.

      2. Has been getting too many uncontested possies mate.

He played midfield in 18s and spent some time in there when Fyfe was injured late in Rd 1 so here’s hoping.

        1. Cheers Brett & Deano. Yep, i’m sticking with Tommy Sheridan. Would rather upgrade rookies & i am confident he will come good.

Studs: Gawn, Goldy, Kerridge, Cripps, Dangerfield, Shaw

    Duds: BenKen, ZMerrett, Parish, Betts

Early days but think BenKen – Petracca this week as looms likely BenKen will get a spell & Petracca will come straight in

Rookies are frustrating with some inconsistent scores. Tough week with plenty of injury concerns to relevant players. Massive week ahead

    1. What happened?? Our teams were quite similar in the beginning! Aggressive trading early isn’t supercoach suicide when you’re caught behind the 8 ball, it’s necessary. To hell with the commandments! I’ve been climbing 2k in rankings per week since round 1 after an average start and now around the 2k mark.

      Coach gotta coach.

  7. A solid 2206/Danger

Won one big money Comp by 2 points and lost the other by 3, all close games.

Heroes Danger, Gawn, Duncan, Shaw, Kerridge, Barlow

Zeroes: Fyfe’s injury, having to play Dea with BJ on the bench, Dusty and Lonergan who is GONE!

  8. 2203 / Danger

Pretty happy with that score given the carnage the last couple of weeks. I should gain back a few places after a horrible round 4. I don’t have Fyfe so have dodged a necessary trade there.

    1. Well, after falling just under 10k places last week, I’ve gained just over 10k places this week. The rollercoaster continues…

      1. Yeah, expected you would have a solid one. Even at 2140 i jumped well over 2000 places. Tough week for many.

A lot premiums failed to fire. Slitting a couple of cows in the coming weeks: Kennedy, Mendadue and Dea.

Low end Rookies stood up: DJB, C. Byrnes and Papley.

Dunkley & Gresham have a couple more weeks to start mooing or the bolt is coming their way.

Eggs will be breaking to make the omelette…

DBJ was great on debut and I was glad to say goodbye to Lonergan. Barlow and Wines finally repaid the faith. Both Martins are a concern and made the wrong decision in fielding Menadue over Paps and McCarthy.

  11. 2129/FMFyfe

Made some bad choices with taking a chance with Fyfe instead of locking in Goldy’s 125p as VC. Lesson: lock in guaranteed points and go with gut feel.

Good news is that I only dropped 2 spots to remain 7th overall.

    1. Well done on your ranking of 7th overall Tim. Top work mate.

Big week for you this week with Fyfe needing to be traded out and Rance looking at 2 weeks on the sidelines. Hope it all goes well for you & you remain in the top 10 / 20 for many weeks to come.

  12. 2080/ Fyfe

Everything was looking good until about sunday arvo with Greene (who i traded in for crouch) and Wines doing well.

Then it all fell to bits.

Fyfe as Capt after Gaz only got the 100. B Ken on field stinking it up. Dusty under performing. Dea on field over Hartley.

On the positive though, I am leading the SCT Tech group so that’s something.

dropped 4086 in ranking but still top 8,000 so could be worse.

  14. 2211 / Goldy

Awesomeness: Shaw, Danger, Parker, Viney, Goldy, Kerridge, and debutantes Gawn and DBJ

Disappointingness: Houli, Dusty, Fyfe and a couple of underwhelming young Dons (though their efforts are excused).

Happy to be back in the top 1000.

Ranking just keeps sliding. This week I traded out Barlow for Zac Merrett which meant I lost cash league match by 50 points! Sums up my year so far.

  16. 2211/Fyfe – I crashed r1 and gave up on overall, but my team wasnt far off as I’ve used only 1 trade (DBJ this week) and I’ve moved from outside the top 50% to 20% while holding firm on no trades.
Have to get Parker then Blicavs next week.

  17. 2145/Dangerfield / moved up 8K spots to 27K

Heroes: the cult figure Maxy Gawn!!! Shaw, Barlow, Kerridge DBJ

Zeroes: mainly only Fyfe going down with injury but in saying that he helped as a lot of opponents had Fyfe as C
Stef Martin didn’t do well but that was kinda expected & benKen was shit most likely be traded

  18. As much as I hate Freo, and I really really hate them, I feel for Ross Lyon a bit. I, like him, finished top of the ladder last season, and now, like him, am winless. And the more I try to improve my team, the worse it gets. I bit the bullet on Fyfe and decided I wouldn’t wait to see him as a fallen premium because I was losing out on a ton of points while I was waiting for him to drop. Injuries happen, can’t be avoided, I’m just pi$$&@ that I didn’t back in my strategy of by low sell high. I should have taken one of Zorko/Merrett/Dalhouse before the went up (yes I know Merrett spudded it up). Oh well still plenty of games to go. And on plus side I may be 0 from 3 but I am 1st on total points, which is telling me that I should start winning soon.

A few nice scores on the pine but no apparent injuries so I’ll consider this week an unmitigated success considering the start I’ve had!

Not a bad week – upgrading a mid and sideways time for Fyfe.

Starting to string a few good weeks together and my boy Viney finally has a good score!

Under performing premos again.. 2 weeks in a row with garbage scores from Gray (Who i oaid 600k for 2 weeks ago after 3 120’s =.=), scumbag houli and martins..

    Studs:
Byrne-Jones (on Bench but will make heaps of cash)
    Dangerfield
    Parker
    Hanners
    Gawnnnnnnnn
    Mills
    Kerridge

    Duds:
    Laird
    Houli
    Sherridan
    Gray (worth 600k yeah..)
    Merrett

I’m starting to plummet in the overall. Still managed to squeeze out a win in my SCT league against Roo Bloke though, so it’s not all bad!
