How Did You Go – Rd15

Written by Schwarzwalder on July 1 2018

Some massive numbers from some massive names have made for some massive scores.ย  Was yours one of them?

Or did you become entangled in the whole “Ahern Debacle” like yours truly? You know how it works……..

    1. 2,326 with Gawn captain (after missing Mitchell, I was tossing up between Oliver, Fyfe, and Gawn so at least I got that one right). I’m pretty happy with my score considering there were quite a few under-performing premiums (Heeney, Fyfe, DSmith, TMac, and Oliver), and the fact that I moved up 245 spots and into the 800’s overall. At that rate of improvement, I’ll be first overall in 3-4 weeks :S

  1. 2275 Gawn. Congrats to Simmo #300 and a great SuperCoach score. Dusty disappointing. Bad luck to Fyfe and Heeney. Hoping to move back up the rankings after a terrible run through the byes.

  3. 2325, Gawn, ranked poorly.

Pretty happy given that i had Heeney, Dusty, Oliver, Devon Smith and Matt Guelfi on the field.

8/10 league wins, so pretty happy! On a disappointing note, should of gone Mitchell as (VC ) knowing Ahern was in the 25 & I had T Smith & Austin to choose as loophole (C).

Could say soooo much more, but onwards & upwards to next week!

Oliver, Ryan and Fyfe went badly. Oh and Gunston a late out replaced by Josh Battle’s 73.

Don’t have Heeney so might pick him up next week (if he plays) for Holman and use him to cover Fyfe then swing him forward via Ahern.

The Good: Gawn, Simmo, Westhoff, Mitchell
    The Bad: Mundy, Kelly, NicNat
The Ugly: Fyfe, Heeney, TMac, Oliver, Dusty

  7. 2323/Titch.

Was on for a massive score, but then McDonald 39, Smith 52, Ryan 53, Fyfe’s injury 43.

Any normal weekend, against that same opposition you would bank 450 as a minimum, rather than sub 200

Strange round. Pushed through the debacle that was Heeney/Fyfe/DevSmith thanks to some unreal scores from Jacobs, Simmo, Lloyd, Mitchell and debutante Westhoff.

  9. 2197/ Fyfe/ was 1019
    Great debut by Wingard
Disappointing debut by Degoey especially when he replaced Fritsch.
Gunston late out did not help especially when l already had E on Ronke for T Smith leaving me with 21 players on field .
Doedee, Holman, Ahern as Emergencies our scored some premiums.
    Could not plan for Fyfe.
Managed to win SCT5 league and sitting on top so canโ€™t complain too much. May need to forgo overall ranking to compete in leagues.

  11. 2362 – Gawn
Had to sit and watch one of the bottom sides in my main $ league chase down my score. It was my Fyfe vs his Stef Martin and after the hammy went I was bloody helpless. Ended up being a draw! Still annoyed, but at least I got away without having the C on Fyfe like many others.

  14. 2316 / Gawn

Disappointing efforts from T McDonald, Oliver, Heeney & D Smith
    Rapt with Lloyd on debut
Won 7/9 league games, but a bit worried about coming up against my 12 year old nephew next week, who I help out with his team choices & trades as he’s mad keen – he scored 2537!

Glad i managed to avoid that Ahern issue by putting my VC on Kelly and him getting only 96 which was slightly disappointing at the time but beautiful in the grand scheme.

Stars: Simpson, Laird, Danger, Duncan, Titch, Zerrett, Gawn, Stef, Westhoff, Savage, Ahern and Battle
All these went above 110 which is what i am wanting from these players and the inclusion of Savage as he managed to crack a ton and he has only done that 3 times this year before today. Titch is an absolute machine but i was thinking Kelly was in decent form so he could continue his trend but i was wrong and he blew my match apart. I though i was cooked in my main league and was basically accepting the loss. Ahern is an absolute life saver but i feel bad for many of my opponents as i had what seemed like an undeserved win but i will take it.

Spuds: Dusty, Franklin, Heeney, Devon, Fritsch
Dusty spudding it up once again, so i am now getting the feeling of trading him but i have to hold back because this happens every year with a player and then i end up with 0 trades. I had no clue was Heeney was doing but im glad most have him so it isn’t that bad. Devon had a real shock score of 52. Hadn’t gone lower than 77 this season and it was such a good game and i saw him a fair bit but just wasn’t hitting his targets and 5 clangers makes the score more believable. Fritsch is only here because he had to kick 4 goals for 82. Only had 9 possies so this is a concern for future games, making him a very uneasy D6 selection.

Overall, quite happy with my score and the fact i won all 10 of my league games but i have to thank Ahern and Jacobs for this and my poor VC choice. Surprisingly the carnage this week was because a rookie was named and not completely dropped, who’d have known

  16. 2207/Titch/12k

Avoided the Ahern fiasco as I had the V on Danger into Titch. Cost me the Rocky loop but only by 12 and the missing Jacobs made up for that by releasing Zerrett to ton up.

Heroes were Titch, Simmo and big Max with 6 other tonning up.

Spuds included Boak, Dusty, Fisher, Ainsworth TMac and the unlucky Heeney and Fyfe. Looking at scores in the leagues, should stay on par in the rankings, who knows, even though there were some monster scores, there were plenty affected by the loop and Fyfe’s captaincy so I’m hoping it evens out.

  17. 2343/Gawn/moved back into top 1k (908)

Some monster scores out there this week, I was tracking beautifully until like a lot of others had McDonald, Oliver Fyfe, Dev Smith all let me down.

The Dons were bloody brilliant in a fantastic game of footy too!

What was l thinking, Mitchell, Gawn, Cripps would have sufficed but thats supercoach, this game is good in hindsight, than again thats the fun of it plus frustration, cheers

  19. 2,257 / Fyfe / Ranked 1,250

Somehow moved up 20 places (with Heeney as well). What could have been if I had Gawn or Titch C.

  20. 2360/Cripps/11K (went up 3K)

Avoided most of the carnage except for bringing in Treloar last week and then Oliver this week (oh and JJK the week before).

  21. Well Done Weendog, but that Trade to Clarry hurts as he is going to get a holiday from the MRP after his late sling tackle after the Umpire had already blown his whistle. Hearing he could just get a fine though.

  22. I actually top scored 2,639… Not so sure how to claim the weekly prize though- I’m not usually this good.

  23. 2502 / Kennedy / now 207th
Weekly rank of 234th on the back of 65th ranking the week before has seen me jump back up from 2000th +
More importantly (TRUDGE TRIUMPH@SCT) has taken a Handy lead over Goodieโ€™s Guns in SCT cup!

  24. 2239 / Grundy / 258

Wow, I am so tired of weeks in which I am relieved to have dropped far less than I expected.

    The culprits
    Heeney
    T McDonald
    Fyfe
    Rice (Subbing for Webster)
    Oliver

Sad to have missed Titch’s score, but not kicking myself. Picked Grundy over him just not seeing Tom him go large v GWS, was wrong, but I handle just being wrong better than oversights and mistakes. Never considered not taking Grundy’s score and swapping to Gawn or Fyfe, because of exactly what happened to Fyfe.

…probably going to talk about captaincy stuff in Cow Talk now that I think about it…..

Anyways, I’m disappointed but not crushed, and I am sad that I keep slowly going backwards as so many Bad Things keep happening. I keep reminding myself that if I had had a slow start and had worked up to my current rank I would be really happy.

  25. 2277/Gawn/2325 Had TMac/Shaw/Heeney/D Smith/Fyfe who averaged 38.4 so happy with the result and rose 188 spots. Genius move of the year was last minute c from Fyfe to Gawn as oppt had c on Fyfe.

  26. Lost money league by 17 points.
He was able to use Mitchell through captaincy loophole and I had Fyfe, a 280 point difference !!!!
Also he was playing one short but got Ahern in at the last minute.

    Studs:

    Simpson
    Laird
    Titch
    Danger
    Merrett

    Duds:
