Early prognosis

TaliaKeath and Gallucci are in doubt for Saturday night’s clash with Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium. Talia injured his ankle in a marking contest in the Crows’ 57-point loss to Port Adelaide, but finished the game. Keath was also able to return to play after sustaining bone bruising and swelling to his left knee in an aerial contest. Both will be tested at Thursday’s main training session. Gallucci was concussed in the second quarter and has shown positive signs of improvement early this week. Lynch will miss another two weeks with his calf injury taking longer to heal than first expected. He injured his calf in the warm-up of the round 12 game against Greater Western Sydney. Ellis-Yolmen is still struggling with a low-level stress reaction to his right fibula. Poholke will miss three weeks with a calf tendon injury suffered in the Crows’ round 11 SANFL game against Sturt on June 29. – Lee Gaskin

Experienced quartet Adams and Greenwood hope to return for the clash with reigning premier West Coast in Perth, while Thomas and Goldsack also face fitness tests. Howe is at least another week away and Reid will miss multiple weeks. Langdon is making inroads, Murphy‘s recovery has also been slow and Kelly is also some time away. Stephenson will be available at finals time while Wells will race the clock to return before season’s end. But the campaign seems over for veterans Dunn and Beams, with the latter now taking indefinite leave to deal with his mental issues. – Ben Collins

Heppell (foot) and Hurley (hip) will have to pass tests before playing North Melbourne on Saturday. Hurley has been managing hip issues for several years but required a scan this week and the Bombers are “hopeful” he will be available. Heppell seems more touch-and-go after missing last week’s win over Sydney. Youngster Mutch is back on the injury list after suffering a fractured kneecap at VFL level and is expected to have an extended stint on the sidelines.  Callum Twomey

Hill completed sprint work close to top speed during training last week and won’t be far away from his latest attempted comeback. Majak Daw (pelvis/hips) played three separate stints in the first quarter of his VFL return on Sunday and an announcement is still to be made on whether he backs up this weekend. There were no major fresh injuries, although second-year defender Murphy’s tough season continued with an ankle setback. Wood was off and on the ground with his quad complaint against the Saints, but completed the match and may not miss a game. Luke McDonald (shoulder) and Sam Durdin (calf) are fine. Higgins is edging closer to being back and Wilkinson could play his first match since April 20, but Tyson’s season now seems in doubt. – Marc McGowan

The former captain was a late withdrawl from the Power side for last Saturday’s Showdown win against Adelaide after he suffered back spasms in the warm-up. Cox lacerated his kidney during a contest in Port’s 77-point win against West Adelaide in the SANFL, and he will be out in the short term. Grundy broke his finger in the same game, and will be assessed this week. – Lee Gaskin

    1. Daniel has been a great POD for me all year (he was my first upgrade, all the way back in Rd5), and I traded him to Boak last week… only for Boak to be a late out. Now Daniel is possibly back next week, I might as well have held him. Big oops there.

  2. Gardner essentially out for the season now, should the Josh Glenn rule be updated to be renamed the Glenn/Gardner rule?
