Adams could return for the Grand Final rematch against West Coast at the MCG if his finger has healed, but Hoskin-Elliott’s recovery is taking longer than expected. Murphy appears set to return via the VFL and Reid and Broomhead could join him, while Wells is just a week away. A longer-term view will be taken with Scharenberg as he makes his way back from a third knee reconstruction, but the season is over for veteran Dunn after a second anterior cruciate ligament rupture in nine months. – Ben Collins

Early prognosis

The Bombers might well have brought Laverde back into the team for his first run at senior level if not for the minor ankle injury he sustained at VFL level on the weekend. Hooker is pushing for selection this week but if he isn’t passed fit to face the Dees is a good chance to be ready for the Lions in round four. Daniher still appears several weeks away from playing at AFL level. – Callum Twomey

 Updated: Tuesday, April 2

Early prognosis

The Cats believe Henry’s hamstring strain is only “minor,” but he’ll miss at least Thursday’s trip to Adelaide. Tuohy is under consideration for a VFL return next week, however the Cats may opt to build his fitness on the training track and throw him straight into the AFL side in 2-3 weeks. Guthrie failed to prove his fitness last week and after two weeks out of the side may be forced to come back via the VFL. Bews’ groin concern have worsened after revealing he is battling osteitis pubis on the weekend. After rest, he will attempt to build his loads in the next week. – Mitch Cleary
