    1. I am looking at the same trade in – Rice v Ridley.
Would Rice have better JS with the long term injuries at the Saints?

    2. Rice would definitely have the better JS, that’s who I’m bringing in this week. Ridley is probably out next week when Hurley comes back in.

  2. D.Barry or A.Brayshaw to phillips??
more cash made from brayshaw trade but he gives me bye coverage.
Barry won’t get his spot back anytime soon…

  3. Have to take a one-gamer due to the carnage in the backline.

    TU – Rice
    TD – Ridley

JS the priority, not points. Need them over the byes but will be D7 mainly.

  4. With carnage in my backline I’m bringing in Simpson, but need a defender who doesn’t have a Rd 12 bye. Looking like:

    TU: Webster
    TD: Howe

Comment if I’m off the mark.

  5. Hopefully everyone is having a fine season so far! I am puzzled for what to do this week.. 365k in the bank..

TU: Murray > Lloyd and Kelly > Danger

TD: Murray > Lloyd and Henry > Phillips

    Cheers

  6. Best defender to bring in excluding Laird, Yeo, Simpson and Sicily. Absolutely stumped for the best option for the rest of the season.

      1. Father what’s your opinion on Webster? I think it’s a risk at his price comparing to Lloyd/Howe/Simpson

        1. I have him, also Howe and Simpson, no Lloyd.

As far as I can tell, he looks like a top 8 defender. I could of course be wrong, but 4th best average for defenders and 4 straight tons, low score of 81. Nothing wrong with Howe and Simpson, and Simpson is cheap right now. I’m not a believer in Lloyd; have not seen he can keep it up. If you do not have Simpson I would be temped by him first, just because he is value at the moment.

  7. Anyone heard anything about Lachlan Murphy from the Crows playing or not, had a very average first half last week but fought back well with forward pressure with Eddie Betts

      1. Murphy has been dropped beatnuts, hopefully Yeo’s not a late out on Sunday!

Why would he travel if he wasn’t a huge chance or definite to play though?

          1. It’s Henry out, swinging Keeffe forward & bringing in Ridley or Rice

Looking at both their VFL seasons thus far, I’ve got Rice slightly ahead but not 100% on either of their job security!

        1. Yeo on the plane. Wouldn’t think they’d fly him over if he wasn’t a certain starter, but stranger things etc etc…

  8. Who to start on field
    T/u Ronke away against Brisbane
T/d Giles Langdon home against Essendon

  9. Stoddart got a good chance of staying in the Line up if he goes well with Mills out for the year?

    T/U Yes
    T/D No

    1. Simpson said he is good to go, but “…we need to get him running around in Melbourne but at this stage he is playing.” Make of that what you will.

  10. Naughton for Rice or Riley in for Trade 1 – generate $ for Trade 2
    Trade #2
TU: Murray for Yeo or Simpson
Murray not playing this week so will not lose $$ but Deodee & Mirra on field

TD: Henry for Buddy or Mundy
Henry BE of 87 and set to lose $$ but have 3 rookies on field

  11. Need to trade Murray out for a prem this week. Original plan was to get Howe by downgrading Naughton to Ridley/Rice but just short by 5k

TU: Naughton & Murray – Heron & Howe
TD: Naughton & Murray – Ridley & Lloyd

    1. With Murray out this week, it has changed up my trade plans a bit this week when I planned to upgrade in my Mids…

      My current team:

DEF: Laird, Simpson, Lloyd, Yeo, Doedee, Murray* (Naughton, Richards)
MID: Fyfe, Mitchell, Oliver, Martin, Coniglio, Merrett, Kelly, Phillips (Holman, Spargo, Barry)
      RUCK: Gawn, Martin (King)
FWD: McLean, Sicily, Heeney, Smith, Fritsch, Guelfi (ZGL, Henry)

Option 1: Murray – Webster (T/U). Sicily stays up at Fwds at F2, take advantage of Webster’s low BE and look to get Buddy next week.
Option 2: Murray – Franklin (via Sicily DPP; T/D), despite high BE and easy draw coming up. Sicily becomes D5, with just Doedee at D6.

Should also mention I have Richards for tonight to be my DEF 7 Emg if Yeo or anyone else was to be a late out this week, so cover isn’t an issue there (then again have got Naughton at D8).

Finally, I should be able to hold off Rice and Ridley this week because of the fact I have cover down back.

      Cheers guys

  12. I never throw questions out there, I always know exactly what I want to do. Genuinely stuck this week though! Bringing in a premo this week..

    TU – Danger
    TD – Buddy

Both have easy draws coming up and share the same bye. Danger more consistent but 100k dearer. Arrgghhh

  13. Anyone got any news on Stoddarts NEAFL stats?

I’m not too keen on Rice or Ridley JS wise.

But if Stoddat is getting a game over Newman, I’m thinking of taking a punt on him VERY early.

With Mills going down, There’s a defensive spot for the taking at the Swans.

I will be watching Kearnsy’s post above with interest.

    1. 4 games,
      AVE’s per game: 14 disposals (9k,5h), 0.3 goals, 4 marks, 3 tackles, 1-0 frees, 2 inside-50s, 1 rebound-50
you’d think high 60s from that, but at AFL level …

  14. Bringing in mid priced forward:
    Thumbs Up – Parfitt
    Thumbs Down – De Goey
    Comment- Someone else

  15. As my team currently sits, if Yeo’s a late out (which is possible) I’ll have a double doughnut!!!!!

Didn’t want to trade this week but Naughton and Murray might become ?????? Hmm, much to ponder over the next 2 and 1/2 hrs.

  16. Most people will be looking at a premo DEF trade in. From the TU/TD it looks like
    Yeo > Simpson > Howe > Webster > Lloyd

That’s obviously if Yeo plays which will be a late call

  17. Upgrading in defence this week, will have to cop a donut, don’t feel it is worth going after someone after one game. Absolutely torn on who to get out of the following

    T/U: Yeo
    T/D: Webster

    Thanks

    1. when do you have to make the call by?! has to be Webster with the cloud over Yeo if it’s tonight (ie Naughton/Murray), but if you can wait longer, surely Yeo is the better long-term bet

  18. currently have a 0 in the backline
TU trade in Yeo now to cover the 0 but risk having one anyway if he’s a late out
TD trade in Darling because he’s about to jump up in price again and cop the 0

    1. Option B – Trade another defender in. Don’t bring a guy in under an injury cloud. Rules out Yeo and McDonald this week. Webster??

  19. I changed my mind AGAIN!

I will eat a donut this week for the good of the team.
This is a long game and fixing holes now may come back to haunt me.
Even with Westhoff riding the pine I must stay strong.

T/U Hold your mettle. Murray might be a late in.

    T/D. I don’t like Donuts.

    1. 103??? Surely that’s not right. I’ve never seen that many thumbs and in 16 minutes too? Nooo…. surely not.

  20. Who to chuck the vc on with the C on Gawn

t/u Grundy against not a predominant ruckman

t/d Danger against blues at the cattery

    Comment Cripps

      1. I’ve gone back and forth between Dusty and Cripps.

        Landed on Cripps atm.

Dusty’s recent history against the poorer clubs suggests he’s happy to take the on-field rest.

  21. Witts > Grundy to fill a guaranteed 0.
For second trade Phillips in for:

TU: Henry with no E in backline (fingers crossed Yeo and Mirra play)
TD: Murray out and lose cash on Henry but have backline back up.

    3

  22. Have the option of going Gowers or Billings to McKernan.

    T/u – Gowers must go.
    T/d – Billings of course.

    Other – comment/hold off trading.

Only upside to trading Gowers instead, is Billings’ ahem high ceiling on the off chance he eventually finds some form…

    4

    3
  23. I have 6 playing defenders but Yeo may be a late out.

T/u Should I go early on Rice or Ridley (probably rice because of JS) or

T/d Just hold Murphy and Duman on pine as pocketing 60-80k for a trade isn’t worth it, even if it provides cover.

    1

  24. Naughton and Brayshaw to Rice and Dusty? Avoids the Murray donut.

    TU – Good call
    TD – Bad call

    2

    3
  25. To avoid a doughnut I’ve gone one up, one down. Murray and Naughton are out. Wanted Webster and Rice but couldn’t afford it. Instead I’ve gone waaaaay early on Heron. Hate myself for going super early on a rookie. I feel slightly dirty. Hoping he’ll provide coverage through the byes. That’s the theory at least.

  26. Ridley in to avoid the donut.
    Who goes?

    T/U: Murphy/Duman
    T/D: Finlayson

I’m worried holding 3 fellas who wont get games (if Ridley is dropped).

  27. SANFL update: Josh Glenn (yep, that one) had 25 possessions and kicked EIGHT goals for Norwood yesterday.

As amazing as that is, I was more shocked to see that he’s still only 24 years old!
