Marsh Series Rd2 – Stats Review – Games 4 to 6

Written by on March 10 2020

Here we go with Games 4 through 6

_______________________________________

Game 4:  WCE v FRE

Game time: 114.117 minutes

Notable Absentees:

WCE: Darling

FRE: Ryan, Mundy, Blakely, Acres, Wilson, Hogan and Pearce

Stats Ranked by $/PPM

Thoughts:

Jarrod BRANDER firming as a decent DEF/FWD pick settling into his wing role. Caleb SERONG only given a cameo but Nat Fyfe was impressed enough to mention him post-match.  Tobe WATSON also looks like he’s done enough to hold his spot until injured players return.

Thought DUGGAN looked great in his role off HB for the Weagles and Brennan COX had a day out playing down back as a KP DEF, but we’d be mad to expect anything like that each week.

Game 5:  GWS v RIC

Game time: 121.2167 minutes

Notable Absentees:

GWS: Taranto, Zilliams, Ward, Davis (and Reid?)

RIC: Graham, and Nankervis

Stats Ranked by $/PPM

Thoughts:

Marlion PICKETT remains a lock at $123k but we may need to lower our expectations.  CUMMING, HATELY and GREEN all scored excellently, but each pick comes with trepidation.  Cumming may only play until Zac’s back (exact role), Hately til Taranto is back and Green could make way for WARD.  Add to that, the HULC could do anything else to ruin us. ASH was serviceable for a premo-priced rookie, but looks to have the best JS of all of them.  Please share your thoughts on this, but looking at their individual roles, that may be what GWS are thinking.

Sam JACOBS could make some serious cash though no real opposition yesterday. Zac LANGDON looked excellent and has put on some serious kegs.  We like Tom LYNCH 😉

Game 6:  COL v STK

Game time: 118.7667 minutes

Notable Absentees:

COL: Treloar

STK: Ross, Gresham, Webster (and Carlisle)

Stats Ranked by $/PPM

Thoughts:

Tyler BROWN looked good again.  John NOBLE looks excellent.  Surely COX makes way for the absent Darcy CAMERON who played VFL this weekend?  Let’s face it, we need him!  Max KING is very exciting and will be a decent bench-warmer who will slowly make some cash.  Let’s just hope he has a couple of big games to boost his price at the right time.  It doesn’t look beyond him! 😉

Jeremy HOWE looks to be moving better than he has in some time.  Ben LONG is enjoying his new loose role off HB.  Risky pick, but given how excited Ratts is about what he adds to our transition off HB, it might be worth the punt.  MADGEN has a nice discount on his price and has been consistent over the Marsh Series but probably wouldn’t pick him.  It’s a shame DAICOS doesn’t have FWD status; he looks to have improved markedly (both in game and size) on last year.

All thoughts and opinions are welcome.  Have I missed anything?

More to come at lunchtime today

  1. Very interested in Cumming. Would like to know more about the expected return date of Williams.

Cummings sits in the same bracket as Roberton, Doedee, Birchall, and Noble for me.

I’m going to have to pick one of them due to team structure.

    Any insights?

    1. Fallen premiums are like superannuation: past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance. Go Brayshaw!

  2. What do we think of gaff & cogs M4 & M5?
Gaff looked terrific in SOO & Marsh series.. Tim kelly will definitely help…
cogs just presents value and may very well finish top 10 at worst M8
