Motts Movers R18, 2013 – The Forwards

Written by Motts on July 31 2013

Eagling has stood up again to deliver this week’s issue of the Forward Movers. More nuggets of wisdom have been delivered by other contributors in Comments. Top stuff everyone! High fives all round!

Premiums:

Dustin Martin:
$497, 600 Avg: 104.12 Own %: 37.60

Finals Run: Brisbane, Carlton, GWS, Essendon.

Did you see that goal last weekend? Has scored 2 120+ in his last three. Capable of ripping a game open by himself.

Tom Rockliff:
$523, 900 Avg: 102.85 Own %: 29.89

Finals Run: Richmond, GWS, Western Bulldogs, Geelong.

A return to the midfield has coincided with an upsurge in scoring for Tommy. 101, 147, 128 and 111. If you saw it coming you could’ve picked him up for 100k cheaper. Still represents excellent value if he can keep this form up (He can and will if he isn’t told to converse with the goal umpire.)

Wait a week on: Jimmy Bartel, Jarryd Roughead and Andrew Walker.

Mid-Pricers:

Jordan Lewis:
$482, 800 Avg: 95.71 Own %: 6.12

Finals Run: St Kilda, Collingwood, North Melbourne, Sydney.

If you like a point of difference or you’re a mad Hawks fan, Jordan could be the man you want. Has some risk, but so does everyone.

Cyril Rioli:
$426, 100 Avg: 94.44 Own %: 4.66

Finals Run: St Kilda, Collingwood, North Melbourne, Sydney.

Check that Own % out. It’s because of his injury history, not because he’s a dud Supercoach pick. Capable of deeds of wizardry on the footy field, a fit Cyril can carry your team on wings of triumph.

Check out his scores at the beginning of the year: 114, 120, 82, 115, 124. Probably the value pick this week.

Lance Franklin:
$465, 900 Avg: 92.67 Own %: 38.56

Finals Run: St Kilda, Collingwood, North Melbourne, Sydney.

Hawks. Hawks everywhere. Although he’s been plagued with inconsistency, 8 goals on return from injury has me excited at Lance’s prospects. Hopefully fresh and firing, this is a golden time to bring Buddy in.

No rookie picks to throw your way.

  1. PREMO TIME!

    Big Dusty Martin, (497,000)

Three tons on the trot now for the the big rig. With the tigers looking to solidify theeir spot in the finals dusty could keep going BANG BANG BANG with a semi-ok finals run.

  2. Jordan Lewis has been pretty solid averaging 111 the last 3 rounds.

But pretty tough to go beyond Rocky 128 over the last 3.

  3. Midpricer:

    Cyril Rioli – $426,100. Avg: 94.44. Own %: 4.66

It’s hard to imagine that this bloke is in the Midpricer category, but after having spent nine weeks on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury, Cyril has been steadily returning to his mercurial best, after returning scores of 31 (green vest), 76, 81 and 107. Even after that 31 dropped out of his three-game game rolling average, he still dropped $200 in price this week. So you haven’t missed out! Oh, did I happen to mention his scores from the first five games of the year before he got injured? 114, 120, 82, 115 and 124.

‘Junior’ looks like a ‘delicious’ temptation and a worthy nomination for the R18 version of Motts Movers – The Forwards.

  5. Ricky Henderson: $469,900. Avg: 84.83. Own %: 3.01

Has come from nowhere but the versatile Adelaide swing man has averaged 125 over the last three games, making him hard to ignore. Unfortunately he has $50,000 cheaper last week after a huge price rise. With a break even of just 22, Ricky Henderson, will continue to rise in price and will most likely be over $500k on the eve of the finals. He managed a massive 160 against Geelong two weeks ago, playing in defence and proving he can score big. A week later he played as a high half forward with tight attention from Matt de Boer and still managed 110. Could be a very good point of difference for finals.

  7. Hi SCT coaches,

I’m thinking of trading Nicholls out, swapping Rowe to R3 / switching Cox if needed & bringing Cyril in as F6/7 & using the loophole nearly weekly!

T/U…..gr8 trade, go for it Catta
    T/D…..waste of a trade

Will leave me with 2 trades!

    Cheers
