Motts Movers R8, 2013 – The Forwards

Written by Motts on May 22 2013

Premiums

Brent Harvey ($511,000, 122.5, 61) – My pick of the week this week is Boomer Harvey who has only played 2 games for the year but scored 119 against The Dogs and then 126 against The Weagles. He’s got fresh legs, he’s a freak in the Robert Harvey mould, and he loves a goal so much they should just call him Hungry Pt II. M/F DPP. R12 bye.

Dustin Martin ($571,200, 112.12, 92) – I liked his chances so much against The Dees this week that I captained him. He didn’t disappoint by delivering a 118 but jeez I wish I’d captained JPK instead. But this isn’t about JPK, its about Dusty. And he’s just belted out a month of tons.

Jimmy Bartel ($547,900, 109.38, 113) – Speaking of a month of tons – heeeeere’s Jimmy! I cautiously slotted him into my forward line at the start of this year – liking his DPP status but being a little unsure if his body could cash the cheques his mind was writing. Doubts erased.

Midpricers

Jordan Lewis ($466,100, 91.38, 65) – Said this about him last week: “Hasn’t scored 100 yet this year but hasn’t scored less than 76 either. Just a reliable, consistent scorer who represents good value at this price.” Well guess what? He raised the bat against The Giants to the tune of 116 and went up $16k. Who’s he got this week and the next? Just GC and Melbourne before a bye. Starting to wish you could make 5 trades a week?

Matthew Stokes ($479,100, 100.62, 51) – A 115 on the weekend makes it 2 tons in a row for Stokesy. And against the likes of Essendon and Collingwood no less. They go with the other 2 tons he’s scored this year against Sydney and Carlton. Doesn’t mind a big game, does he? On that basis you probably wouldn’t pick him given in the next 3 weeks he faces Port, the Suns and GWS.

Aaron Black ($329,200, 95, -14) – 2 weeks ago, I nominated him as a Rookie Forward Mover when he was just $212k and on the bubble. Since then he’s gone on to score a 93 against the Dogs and then last week made his first ton with a 116 against WC. I really like this kid.

  1. Thanks Motts!
Good to see Bartel back in such great form. Unfortunately I chose Jordan Lewis over Bartel & Zorko over Rockliff at the start of the year. I’ve kept Lewis due to consistancy but Zorko only lasted 2 weeks. Aiming to pick up Bartell soon but like everyone else getting Buddy this week.

  4. Biggest question for me this week is do I get Buddy or not. Could be great POD not having him if he continues his poor average. I prefer having StevieJ and NicNat in my team who should average 10-15ppg more. Is Buddy a necessity this year?? Will he improve? It’ll end up being either him or JJK as my F7 cover and I already have JJK so its a trade possibly wasted if they average the same.

Thumbs up Buddy is a necessity
Thumbs down great POD not having Buddy and keep JJK as cover

  6. To Motts, Duck, BS & Nath and the other guys that created this site and keep it running with fantastic discussions, info and advice that allow the info sharing of other SC coaches above … I just gotta say a BIG THANK YOU, for providing something as good as this!

First time SC in the AFL and as a leaguey from up in Brisvegas, gotta say this site is soooo much better than the NRL supercoach available info etc!

You guys and all the other SC posters on this site have me well and truly hooked after only 8 rounds!!! Still learning, so hopefully will be a lot smarter next year!!

Again, well done fellas and thanks for all the efforts!
