Movers & Shakers – Round 15

Written by The Salamander on June 24 2021

LEGEND: Player Name (Other Position) (Club, Price, Average, 3-Round-Average, 5-Round-Average)

DEFENDERS

Brayden Maynard (COL, $482,000, 90, 107, 105)

Coming off a huge game in the Pies’ Queen’s Birthday win over the Demons, Maynard has lifted considerably after his slow start to the year, with just the two sub-tons in his last six outings, both of which were quite respectable (87 and 79). It might be worth waiting a week just to make sure the interim coach doesn’t change his role, but he’s definitely one to consider for the price.

Jack Bowes (GCS, $404,800, 92, 60, 77)

Even though one of them was an injury-affected 45 back in Round 9, the last two weeks has marked three poor scores in a row from Bowes, after he had started the year so promisingly.

MIDFIELDERS

Darcy Parish (ESS, $674,300, 118, 139, 141)

After finally getting that inside midfield spot that he was born to play earlier in the season, the #5 pick in the 2015 draft hasn’t looked back, pumping out scores of 162, 107, 115, 134, 152, 136, 166, and 115 from Round 6 to present. Amazingly, he’s still only in 9 percent of teams. He’s expensive, but can you afford not to have him if he keeps on going like this?

David Mundy ($500,700, 107, 91, 93)

It’s hard to fault a guy who turns 36 next month when he’s playing as well as he has been, but his last five scores are not really what his coaches would have been hoping for if they had brought him in on the back of his early-season form. Cheap, so one to consider at M8 if his form lifts a little.

RUCKS

Ben McEvoy (DEF) (HAW, $481,200, 89, 111, 96)

Boasting rare DEF/RUC status, ‘Big Boy’ sits in just 4 percent of teams, despite his good recent form and handy positional combination. Dates with Gawn in Round 18 and Grundy in Round 21 probably won’t be much fun, but for the price he’d make a fine D4-6 or cheap R2.

Shane Mumford (GWS, $426,500, 95, 73, 81)

After a strong start to the year, the notoriously clumsy Giant hasn’t been over 100 since Round 7, with a high score of just 83 in his last four outings.

FORWARDS

Charlie Dixon (PTA, $523,300, 91, 121, 116)

Five tons in his last six outings sees Dixon as one of form players of the competition. Faces the defensively stingy Demons and Bulldogs in Rounds 17 and 23 respectively, but otherwise doesn’t have too bad of a draw on the run home.

Jarman Impey (HAW, $407,200, 91, 74, 79)

Although he scored 109 last weekend off the back of 22 effective disposals (up from 9 and 12 in the previous two weeks), Impey has been a little down on form lately, with scores of 82, 91, 62, and 51 in his four games prior to last.

Did you dump any under-performers during the byes? Which over-performers did you get in to replace them? And how’s it gone since then? Let us know in the comments below!

  1. Thanks Salamander!

Held Impey, too vital to the Hawks and wouldn’t maintain a 50-60 score and as a F5-6 he’s perfectly fine.

Traded Heeney out, for round 14 cover and a more ‘reliable’ scorer in North future BnF winner Tarryn Thomas. (Watch Heeney go large this weekend)

Neale back into the team In round 12 with the VC slapped on him last week payed off well. (Saved my round)

    Haynes in this week.

And a minor sob seeing Stringer go that large knowing I had brought him in early in the year expecting a Renaissance that did eventually come.

  2. I’m jumping on Pendlebury this week. Have 11 trades remaining and 3 upgrades to go (1 mid, 2 fwd). 2 weeks to asses Pendles form and if working then he stays, if not, he will have increased around $70k and with additional trades remaining will become a top end mid after that.

Hoping for a decent showing from Dangerfield again and then i’ll have the confidence to turn Weightman into him next week.
