  2. Eyes on Charlie Comben for next week. He’s had a rough journey, Drafted 2019 pick #31.

    From AFL app:
There was the broken back, sustained after copping a stray knee from Oscar McDonald in a pre-season practice match, that kept him sidelined for his entire debut AFL campaign in 2020. Upon his return the following pre-season came a stress fracture in his tibia that required surgery.

He came back late in 2021, only to sustain a broken collarbone from a fend-off delivered by teammate Jared Polec at training. Patella issues from the screw inserted into his leg as a result of his previous stress fracture then meant more time on the sidelines in 2022.

Last year brought about his longest run in the senior side yet, seven straight games to start the season. Only for that horrific injury against Melbourne – resulting in a dislocated ankle, a broken fibula and a syndesmosis issue – to put him back into rehab for the next six months.

  3. Thank you for your service. Goodbye McKercher & Sanders and hello to Ferguson next week and Walsh the week after.

    1. It’s only his 2nd season! Kid hasn’t played 30 games yet and is a fair lump of a bloke too. What are you expecting from him!!

      1. Trading McKercher out is not a knock on his character, football ability or expectations. He is a gun and will be a contender for B&F one day. I have watched him through his junior years. Can’t help bad luck. Unfortunately he is now SC irrelevant and a trade target. Pretty binary observation.

          1. Sorry Mark, I shot from the hip without reading properly. I feel for the kids these days, the expectations put on them from round 1. Reid, McKercher, Sanders, Zuursma, Roberts etc and year two players like Sheezel. I actually agree with you, they are just kids and need time to develop.

      2. I was implying he was brilliant…….120 in 1/2 then (sarcasm) only get maybe another 100 in the 2nd half……….

        1. No worries 🙂 I just think that so many people want so much from these kids, and are so quick to jump on them… people talking through their pocket, through their fantasy sides, through being a long suffering fan wanting some hope.Often what fantasy coaches want from them isn’t related to what the coach wants for the team to succeed! Naicos and Sheeze have spoiled us all in terms of both the volume and consistency of both their role in their team and in fantasy leagues-tough acts to follow 🙂

  4. Will Crouch, Green or Butters get any suspensions ?

I think Green might be ok, the other 2 might get a week?

    1. Haven’t really heard much media about Butters. If there was any injury he would have been gone for weeks with how this system works

    2. Zak Butters has been cleared for his bump on Bailey Banfield, while Adelaide midfielder Matt Crouch has been offered a one-match ban.
