Poll – Danger Zone

Written by Schwarzwalder on August 2 2017

This is quite the conundrum……Danger is out for a week. During the course of the season, you’d be able to quietly move him to the bench and cover with a decent rookie temporarily. But now we have Week One of Supercoach Finals……in many cases, do-or-die clashes.  Do you change your trade strategy and take Danger out? (With an eye to getting him back next week, of course). I’m interested to see how many of our Coaches are contemplating this left-field move………

Are you trading out Dangerfield this week?

  1. 4 trades left and I have Pendlebury on the bench. Will probably trade Danger and Pendles to Mitchell and Ryder this week. Giving me Witherden, Greenwood, Scooter and Steele on the bench as cover/loophole options. 2 trades left to bring Danger back in for the prelims

    1. Hey Pete.

Not sure how your going to afford to get Danger ($741.200)back in with only 2 trades left?

You will need to downgrade a premo to a rock bottom rookie then upgrade other premo to Danger.

Personally I wouldn’t consider trading Danger unless I had 6 trades or I was in elimination finals only.

      1. I have 6 but will hold as I need to go Nank to Gawn and Wingard to Yeo or Heeney. Even then I’m still starting Greenwood on field.

        1. Well I have 4 subs, and really only need 3 with all my DPP’s. So 80k in the bank, I’ll trade a combination of Scooter/Greenwood/Steele for Danger and a cheap DPP rookie. Which will leave me with Witherden, Treloar, and Greenwood or Steele on the bench

  2. I have Witts and Mumford out so I need to trade Witts and just pray Mumford comes back as I also have Greene out. I might even considering tanking as I am in top 4 in all important leagues. Witherden is good enough cover for Danger anyway

  3. Like I said on Monday.

Bottom 4 final – gotta get through this week so get him out

Top 4 final – you’ve earnt the double chance so keep him

  4. Holding. Means bringing Hanners on and having no loophole. Although I am still planning on loopholing Hanners and if he is truly awful or gets injured I can swing a FWD in to the middle. It would just remove my FWD loophole options. But decision wouldn’t have to be made until after my FWD emergency and Ruck emergency have played due to the way of the fixture this round.

Lots of subbing and emergency combinations and decisions all requiring much attention before and after each game, I dare say I wont be leaving the house for any social activities over the weekend.

  5. Danger being out means I will be running with Rocky again this week. Question is do I play Rocky on the ground and put the E on Witherden to potentially take his score or the other way around.

    T/U: Play Rocky, Witherden emergency
    T/D: Play Witherden, Rocky emergency

    1. I’m in the same boat, and I’m 100% on the Witherden train (#mixedmetaphors). I watched Rocky pretty closely in the absence of Zorko last week, and he’s not even close to premo form at the moment.

    2. Witherden will probably score 80-110. Rockliff might score 50 BUT can go huge. If you think you might be on the back foot, go Rocky. If you think you’ll be safe, go Witherden

      1. This above reason is exactly why I am looking at playing Witherden. I’ll bank his 80-110 and roll the dice with Rocky with the ability to take his score if he does go huge although I must say I’ve basically lost all faith in the man.
